One of the Best Hotel Experiences in Playa del Carmen
We spent two nights at The Reef 28 and loved it so much that we added an extra night! The room was huge, spotless, and beautifully decorated. On our first night, we had some noise issues in the room, but the next morning the staff happily moved us to a quieter one — and it was perfect. The breakfast was unbelievable — by far the best we had on our trip. So fresh, diverse, and absolutely delicious. The spa and wellness area were also great, making the whole experience even more relaxing. The location was excellent, just a short walk to Playa del Carmen’s main street full of shops and restaurants. But most of all, we were impressed by the staff – everyone was kind, professional, and went out of their way to make our stay special. If we ever return to Playa, we’ll be coming back here without a doubt!

This is NOT a luxury place yall lol 😒
I don't know where all of these amazing reviews came from, but that hotel was old and they just threw lipstick on a pig. The first room they gave me smelled musky and old. I could smell the mold even though they had the AC running. I was supposed to have a partial Ocean View but all I could see were dilapidated buildings an abandoned buildings that also looked old. The restaurant that was open at the time only had one or two pescatarian friendly dishes, and the fish was Bland it had no seasoning nothing authentically Mexican about it at all. It's right next to 5th Street so if you're looking to go there that's good, but just know that all of the food over here is for American tastes. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, don't go anywhere near over here. I paid the extra $15 to go to the beach club which is about a 7 to 10 minute walk. I get there and because it's seaweed season, it smelled like dead bodies and the beach club was closed. It was 6:00. And of course there's the timeshare thing they try to rope you in with promising things like transportation for free back to the Cancun airport, or a free 60 Minute massage to listen to a presentation for 90 minutes. I didn't stay there long enough to try anything else out. I checked out and left.

Reef 28 Roof Bar
Francisco was the greatest waiter ever!!! We loved him and his attentive service! He was right on top of replenishing our drinks and giving great suggestions about food that we should be ordering. You will never regret hanging out at the rooftop bar at reef 28!
