  Great place, don’t like the construction noise

  Absolutely a great spot to visit. Helpful, friendly, awesome staff. A walkable clean and safe beach. Nothing bad to say, but the construction going on right now is very annoying. I know it is the low season and work needs to be done, but listening to a power drill while enjoying my cocktail on the beach does not fit well.

  Great hotel

  Update OCT 2026 This was our second stay at this property, with the first stay in May of 2019. Ever since then we have used the Grand Cayman Ritz as our bar for comparison to other properties. After seven years, we were hoping that things didn’t change….and they have not. Still a wonderful hotel and staff! All staff were engaging and friendly. Housekeeping was on point. Property grounds were immaculate. The only complaints to note are as follows: 1. $132 USD, including automatic 20% tip, for two people at the breakfast buffet is wild. 2. When at the pool or pool bar, you are literally walled off from the beach and can’t even see the amazing water. 3. The pool bar has no TVs. Realizing its an upscale property and they likely dont want to create a bar scene, but it would be nice to check game scores or have something to look at while seated there & waiting for others to get ready etc. Stand out employees would be Jonathan at the pool bar and Armica on beach service. Both were super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Still our #1 destination and instead of waiting 7 years again, we will be back in Jun ‘27. Original review; My wife and I just returned from 7 nights at this wonderful hotel. We would both go back in a heartbeat, but there is some room for improvement / words of caution. So, lets get into it! We booked this hotel for our 5th wedding anniversary, and the staff greeted us with two glasses of champagne upon check-in. They also provided an unannounced free dessert and custom chocolate anniversary note at dinner one night, and housekeeping made a very nice heart and bird towel sculpture on our bed for our last evening on property. All very classy and well done! We were a bit disappointed in the somewhat high pressure sales pitches upon check-in; club lounge access vs. pre-paid breakfast buffet. We ended up going with the pre-paid buffet, which in hindsight was a mistake. There were a few mornings that we just wanted a nice coffee instead of a full buffet. But since we had paid for it, we altered our plans and went. Even at the discounted rate, it was not cheap. Also, the coffee at the buffet was not very good. I’d highly recommend grabbing a coffee from the coffee shop and taking it to the buffet. Sure, it will run you another 12 or so USD, but if you like coffee you won’t like the buffet coffee. Regarding our check-in, we had reserved an oceanfront high level room. Upon check-in we were told that we had been upgraded (1st time after 5+ years being Platinum elite or higher) to a suite. As it turns out, we were given a residence on the 3rd floor, which was really just a very big and nice apartment. Unfortunately, we had no use for a chef’s kitchen, washer/dryer, or living room. The view, while legally oceanfront, was certainly not what we had reserved or hoped-for. We explained our situation to the front desk the next day; that we would rather have more view and less suite. They allowed us to move the following day to another identical residence/suite also on the 3rd floor. It’s view was much better, but if you get an upgrade be sure to ask to see the room before accepting it. When we did change rooms we were told that we’d get an email stating our room was ready, that our luggage would be moved from the existing room to the new one, and that we could get our new keys at the front desk. Unfortunately, we were not told that we would need a photo ID to get the new keys, and those were in our luggage in the 1st room, to which our keys no longer worked. We sorted it all out, but it seemed like a clunky process. The hotel grounds are immaculate. Housekeeping was phenomenal. One oddity is that while every employee was super polite, not many were very engaging. I can rattle off names of multiple people from other resorts at which we stayed on previous vacations, but I can only name one from this hotel; Travis at the beach concierge desk. What a polite, friendly and all around great employee. Someone promote that guy! We were highly let down by Seven for dinner. It’s the same location as the breakfast buffet, and offers the same sticky vinyl table cloths. The steaks were average at best, and way way way overpriced. Even for a Ritz. The sushi restaurant was fantastic. We ate there three times, and while it certainly was expensive it was worth it. BarJack seemed like it would be the stereotypical pool bar, but it had shockingly good food and value. We ate dinner there twice, and would not hesitate to send anyone there for a “real” meal. The only negative is that it’s the only outside bar and it closes at 7. I can understand that the Ritz doesn’t want to promote drunken rowdiness in the main courtyard, but having no outside bar after sunset just seems strange. We ventured off property to Decker’s for all you can eat lobster tails one night, and it was worth the short trip. A nice venue, and we had a great waiter. Plus, it was 1/2 price of a mea at the RC if you’re trying to save a few bucks. The beach and pool areas are great, with the beach offering some of the nicest loungers I’ve seen. Personal canopies is a great touch, but many were non-functional. Also, we didn’t see a single piece of seaweed on the beach all week; not because it was raked up, but because there was none. Definite plus for us. The gorgeous blue water and white sand everywhere made this one of our favorite beaches. Overall, it is a great hotel with great people. Very pricey, but I guess that is expected at a Ritz. We would not hesitate to go back, but I would not use points again. 360,000 points for 1/2 the stay wasn’t worth it.

  It must be magic!

  This is my family’s 3rd visit to this resort and we fall more in love with it every time we go. The island itself has the best people, very safe and obviously beautiful. The resort feels like a home with how comfortable it is and the kindness with which you are consistently treated by everyone there. My kids are 6 and 9 and it is their favorite vacation by far. The members of the staff all talk to them by name and create a wonderful experience for them. I wish I could remember everyone’s name who was so good to us. Michelle at seven remembered our family from previous visits. George greeted us when we first arrived and got us off to a great start. Truly everyone there treat us like family and we look forward to seeing them again when we next return!

  Another wonderful stay at Ritz Carlton Grand Gayman

  I just returned from my 14th stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and once again, it truly felt like coming home to family. It was especially wonderful to see Hudson, Fabiola, Adrian, Steve, and Nathan, and all the wonderful waiters and hosts at breakfast. Many of the Ritz-Carlton employees remember me and greet me by name the moment they see me. That personal connection is one of the things that makes every stay so special. The service is consistently excellent, and the chat communication makes it very easy to arrange requests and reservations. I had another excellent spa experience, and the Afternoon Tea ceremony was enjoyable as well. Taikun dining, as always, was absolutely delicious. The beach remains amazing, best in the world, with incredibly attentive service. I especially enjoyed the complimentary frozen cappuccino, juices, frozen fruit, and cold towels. Those little details make relaxing by the beach even more enjoyable. This stay coincided with my birthday, and the thoughtful surprise of a beautiful fruit plate and chocolate cake delivered and served in my room was such a lovely touch. The only thing I miss is the old Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman interior design. I loved the colorful carpets, luxurious room furniture and headboards, and the beautiful cherry-wood walls and ceiling in Silver Palm Bar. There was something particularly warm and elegant about that design. I can’t wait to return in a few months. The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman is my absolute love, and I know that love will continue for many years to come. After 14 stays, it truly feels like my home away from home.
