  DO NOT RECOMMEND

  This hotel is not Westin standard and underdelivers on almost every aspect. I personally like the location near the marina and the proximity to the airport. To preface we are Bonvoy gold and titanium so we’ve seen lots of properties and I think this is my first 2 star review.. yikes. Here we go.. We upgraded to a suite and didn’t feel it was that great. Bed was awful and uncomfortable. The view was incredible but everything else is just meh. Renovations are very average. Mini bar amenities average and you must ask them to restock. Nespresso pods which is nice but no milk cups in fridge or creamer. We asked them to restock the apple juice for our toddler 2x during our stay and they never bothered so we just bought one at the OXXO across the street. Room is not cleaned well and it feels dirty. Overall atmosphere is drab and staff aren’t very friendly except the waiters at Palma buffet. Shoutout to Israel who is amazing. Lots of renovations happening, half elevators are down and it can be loud. Pool feels dirty lots of leaves and debris everywhere. Loungers are covered in bird poop and leaves. Service and food at the pool are slow and not attentive. We had fish tacos and a tostada at the pool and it was weird the tostada was mixed with pickles almost like a tuna melt lol THE KIDS CLUB. Omg… they should just close it and call it a day. It was so disgusting and everything was broken. The tv had been ripped out the wall and all was left is the anchor. The kitchenette for kids was one touch away from falling apart. Everything was dirty. Bathroom water wasn’t functional and toilet didn’t flush. Water feature palm tree not working. Small playhouse outside smelled like stale poop. It’s embarassing and unsanitary. Worker there was just watching something on his phone and lights weren’t even on. My biggest issue was the food. Lots of exclusions for an all inclusive. Drinks at the pool were not good at all. Coffees and smoothies at the shop are an extra charge and not good. Tanto was inedible. We left without eating anything because it tasted stale. The fish was not fresh and the miso soup just tasted of salt. The only thing decent was the fried rice which I guess is hard to mess up. On top of being inedible the waiters at TANTO were awful. Lots of attitude and spilled sauce all over my leg and floor and never cleaned it up while we were there. We paid for all inclusive and ended up eating dinner outside the resort most nights. We also were made aware that the Palma buffet is closed right now for dinner so between 5pm and 6pm there’s nowhere to eat which is not ideal to need a reservation every night with small kids. They once told us all they had was a 9pm reservation for dinner… so what am I supposed to do with my kids lol. The restaurants also won’t let you take out food to your room at any of the restaurants including the taco and burger place (which serve decent food) FLORA (lobby bar and restaurant) was good but only had a small selection. The bartender here was amazing and so kind! They have an ice cream shop that never has anyone there working so you have to chase someone down. They encourage you to use a QR code for information such as opening hours of things and such but a lot of the hours are inaccurate lol. I know it’s slow season and I understand certain modifications in service but it needs to be communicated. We’ve stayed at numerous properties in puerto Vallarta and this is by far the worst.

  MEDIOCRE STAY

  To start, the public areas of the property was gorgeous. The small beachfront that they do have was dismal and unusable. This property transitioned to an all-inclusive property in May. The timeshare part of the resort broke off into a separate property and there is a rudimentary divisional fence cutting through the property. FRONT DESK There was a lot of miscommunication in this property starting with the front desk. The room was not ready when we checked in after 3pm. We went to the taco restaurant to have a late lunch and returned to check in to our room at 5pm. The room was not ready at all. They made us stand there for over 30 minutes while they figured out the situation. Only after asking for a supervisor to intervene did we finally get our room. When we asked to speak to a manager we were told they did not have one. I found the staff indifferent and unsympathetic. They also neglected to inform us that the Palma restaurant alternated between a buffet and a sit-down restaurant. So when we came down for dinner expecting a buffet, we were told it was a sit-down dinner and it required reservations. Since there were limited choices, we ended up getting a reservation for 9pm. The front desk could have easily solved this problem by asking us if they could make our dinner reservations since it was not a buffet night. Not a very good start. ROOMS Rooms were clean. The rooms were dated as evidenced by the garish red marble in the bathroom and broken drawers. There was a condensation problem every time you opened the balcony door. We were advised to keep the balcony door closed which defeats the purpose. As a result we ended up with a puddle outside the bathroom. Bathrobe and slippers were not automatically provided but can be requested at no cost. Housekeeping staff were efficient. Air conditioning worked as intended. One thing I had a problem with was, it appeared they wash your glassware at the bathroom sink and leave it on top of a towel to dry. The ice machine on our floor was broken as well as one of the elevators. FOOD As an all-inclusive resort, all the food was included. The main restaurant, PALMA, as I mentioned alternated between a buffet and sit-down. If it is a sit-down night, be sure to make reservations (they also served all breakfasts here). The food for the most part was good and the service was also good. The asian restaurant, TANTO is another restaurant that requires a reservation. The food was Japanese mixed with some Chinese food. One thing that concerned me was the sushi I ordered sat on the counter for quite a while before it was served to me. They have a "food court" type gallery and this included Call Me Lalo (a taco place) and Coastal Burger (a burger place). No need for reservations. Food and service is good and we had no problems dining here. The two restaurants share a common bar and we were able to order tacos along with our burgers when we dined at the burger place. They have a coffee shop, Organic & Co. but only a few items are included. Specialty coffee is extra. Rosa Maddalena is the ice cream shop which remained mostly unmanned during our stay. You have to go to Organic and Co. to ask one of the servers to help you if you want some ice cream. VIDA is the poolside bar that served a limited menu of food like pizza and tacos.. They have tables set up for dining and they will serve you at your lounge chair as well. The lobby bar, FLORA was good. They served an octopus appetizer that was really good. LOCATION The Marina is a nice area and the marina is walkable from the hotel. If you would like to go to the pier or Zona Romantica, it is at least a 30-minute taxi ride. They do have Uber which I highly recommend since I don't like haggling with cab drivers. in conclusion, I would say that although the property is nice and acceptable, it is not what I expect a Westin brand property to be. The service was cordial but indifferent and generally, I get the feeling they won't go out of their way to provide you with a stellar experience. And while we did get a great deal on this vacation with Costco, I'm pretty sure we will not be returning to this property.

  Worth the money

  Comfortable rooms and great service everywhere with friendly staff. Food was good with reasonable options. Wish there was an exhaust in the bathrooms as it was humid when we visited. Kids club was basic but Gaby was great with our kiddo and went out of her way to keep him entertained.

  Excellent stay

  Stay was exceptional. Service, quality of food, hospitality and graciousness of staff was all over the top. Our server. Israel, was one of the best for daily breakfast visit in the main dining room. Enjoyed the pool and resort overall. The fitness center was put together with all necessary equipment and ample treadmills. Gorgeous view out of our balcony room overlooking the Ocean and property. Location is fabulous as it s only two (2) miles from airport and a short walk to Marina. Very good Value for the price given the all-inclusive nature of the property. Highly recommend.
