Amazing Stay!!
We stayed with another couple in a 2 bedroom in the Bay Vista section of the Westin St John. The unit was newly renovated and we were on the 3rd floor with a beautiful view of the water. The room was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen is very big and we made breakfast in the villa each morning and ate on our private deck. We had the best time at the pool, taking walks around the resort, visiting the gorgeous beaches around the island (we rented a car) and eating at delicious restaurants. Our favorite beach was Cinnamon Bay. Favorite restaurant was The Speakeasy and Ocean 362. Go for drinks at Longboard- the pain killer is incredible! The Westin is a wonderful place and I highly recommend!!

Buyer Beware
If you decide to stay here I suggest you ask to see your room before you check in. We stayed in a room that was unacceptable at the price point of almost $800 per night. Where should I start: the bathroom was very dated with enamel worn off of the tub, the "dining area" was an 18 inch counter that doubled as the headboard of the bed--no way you would eat there--with two stools on the corner. The closet for your clothes doubled as the storage area for housekeeping supplies--broom, dust pan etc. Not much of a room. The buffet at the only restaurant was unattended. We arrived 15 minutes before closing to empty fruit bowls, crusty eggs, etc. We had to stick our head in the kitchen to ask to have fresh food brought out. You have to wait for golf carts to get around as the property is big. If I had paid $200 a night I would give this 4 stars but at $800 it is a one star joint. I will add that our room was not ready at 4:00 as promised and that our billing was problematic as well.

2 star, needs updating, great location.
Run down and 2 star at best. The location makes up for it, but the staff is rude all around. I have never seen anything quite like it, just not happy people and not nice.

I hope the Westin gets its magic back.
My family has been going to the Westin for 30 years (even when it was a Hyatt). It’s still gorgeous however it has really gone downhill. Many of the staff that has been there for years is no longer there (quit with management issues). The hotel is no longer being run like a gorgeous resort - steel drum music, fun games (some though at the pool) - a lot of the magic is gone. They said the pool has to be redone - which is does. I’m hoping two years in a row they do this. The food at the pool has significantly gone down, and the restaurant at the resort for dinner has little options and also gone down. Both my parents who are older sometimes need golf carts to get around - we were waiting 20-30 minutes at times. I miss the old days where this was actually being run as a special resort and not being turned into a basic marriot property. Hopefully someone at marriot sees this but this is also the sentiment of many that have been going for years.
