Beautiful ocean front resort. Amazing staff
Beautiful beachside resort with a personalized small, quaint feeling. I had an ocean view room that felt like I was on top of the water. The food was good. A fairly small pool on the main property, but a larger beautiful pool on the adjacent part of the resort. One of the most impressive parts of the experience was the amazing staff. Everyone, from the general manager, Kim, who made a special effort to greet people and make sure they were enjoying their stay, to the staff at the reception desk, and even the bartenders and waitresses. The omelette cook, Ether, “taught“ me how to cook an omelette every morning. 🙂. I’ll be staying at Waves again.

Great Stay Overall
I would start this review by saying that all-in-all, this is a great resort and my wife and I had a wonderful time. Positives: very friendly staff, fabulous nighttime entertainment, and the resort itself is clean and well- maintained. One other bonus and this is HUGE - it’s quiet and low-key, which means no boorish drunken guests, debauchery and/or loud music blaring over the pool speakers. Great activities such as kayaking, paddle-boarding and snorkeling are included and can be accessed right from the resort’s beach. The lounge chairs and amenities on the beach were plentiful and we never had to wait for some to become available. Negatives: the food, while tasty, is limited in selection. I tried to order an off-menu item that had been served a previous evening and our server refused the request. There is a coffee shop on-site that serves the same items daily, but as far as the restaurants are concerned, what you see on the menu, is what you get. There is a busy street that separates the family, beachside portion of the resort and the adult-only side. As far as I know this isn’t listed on the website and would’ve been nice to know prior as it was somewhat unnerving going back n’forth across a busy street throughout the day. Again, overall this is a terrific resort. If you’re looking for a tranquil, beach resort getaway that offers some fun perks and friendly service, than Waves is a perfect fit. Special shout out to Ryan, Ether, Troy and Loreal for going the extra mile to make our stay special!

Absolutely wonderful hotel and staff
Stayed at Waves Hotel & Spa Barbados for a week after a weeks Caribbean cruise. Had read various reviews which weren’t the best but I can honestly say we had an amazing stay. Yes the beach is small and a bit tricky getting in and out of the sea but we loved the few days we spent in the beach as we were well looked after by the staff who constantly came round with drinks and cold towels. We were staying over the road from the main hotel in the adults only spa area right next to the hotels Indian restaurant. This area was so calm and relaxing and the pool was amazing. The restaurant in the main building on the seafront was lovely with a view to die for. Could not fault the choice of food with alternate nights being either a la carte menus or buffet. A big shout out to all of the staff who were so friendly and attentive and could not do enough for us. We had 2 complimentary vouchers for the spa so we both had a massage and I had a facial which I would definitely recommend. Thank you Waves for a fantastic holiday.

We never wanted to leave!
My husband and I recently returned from our Honeymoon here and I can safely say we never wanted to leave! I noticed a couple of renegade negative reviews and I want to assure any prospective guests not to take any notice of these, our experience was not only overwhelmingly positive but also I would say it is the best Holiday we have ever been on. My parents got married in Barbados and I have been many times, always staying on the west coast. I am far from an easy to please traveller and definitely a food snob but this hotel delivered on every front. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the staff simply cannot do enough for you and are pleasure to encounter, and the food and cocktails are top notch. I would personally recommend booking a room on the adults only side if you are not travelling with kids, we loved the proximity to the pool and that these rooms had been newly renovated. In particular Kim the General Manager and Rhea in the spa stood out for us as going above and beyond to offer excellent service but each and every staff member we encountered was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Excellent Stay
Stayed for 4 nights in the amazing hotel. 6 adults and 2 children and we all loved everything from the fabulous welcome including cold towels and a rum punch to the excellent service in the restaurants and bar. All staff must be praised for their professionalism and warm manner which they ran the hotel. The adults only pool was superb and the children loved their pool too. The whole hotel was immaculately clean so well done to the staff who seem to continually be brushing all the sand away in the lounge area!!!!! Yes the beach is small but very quiet and peaceful. Could not fault anything about the hotel and would recommend staying here to couples and families. The children loved the afternoon activities especially for them and felt very special to be given such warm attention from the staff.
