Jul 15, 2025Romantic Getaway in Cancun Mexico
Me and the wife celebrated our 20th anniversary at this resort. The restaurants were attentive to my celiac disease ( had no issues the whole week I was there). The resort overall was absolutely amazing all around, food, staff. Me and the wife will definitely go back at some point.

Rooms were cute! Hotel was beautiful but I think we came during seaweed season, smell was not pleasant. Nice hotel to stay!

The great and the not as good
The Great: The staff overall is what makes this a wonderful experience. Fermine (Mexican Champion), Sandra (Sandy) Alejandro (Alex), Fernanda were so awesome and friendly. Room service was very nice too, just make sure you call to have plates picked up or the Coati will show up and make their presence known. The staff at Tempest were fun and playful as well which made for a better experience. The pool is nice and the staff work hard on it but it still gets dirty and leaves a film on you (seaweed color) and you can only hear music from the bar on one side of the pool(we liked that, some did not) The Not Great: We couldn't use the beach at all due to the amount of seaweed in the water and on the beach and the smell is atrocious coming from that..at the pool and in the hotel. Food at Lola Cafe was ok. They try to be fancy with it but it misses the mark. Some things are changing or run down but they try hard to hide it while they are fixing things.

Extraordinary experience for my 51st bday.
The staff was the greatest ever. Ever single person took pleasure in their job stepping off the van receiving the refreshing towel and cucumber lemonade was right on time.

Perfect getaway in paradise!
Avoid the vacation club at all costs. The people are pushy and stated that the appointment would be 1.5 hours, which was close to 4 hours. When we stated that we couldn’t afford the plan that was provided the guide stated you can afford it, you just don’t want to. Once we gave a final no the pleasantries were out of the window. The lady Rhoena that was leading the tour walked ahead of us and didn’t speak a word. I am very disappointed that Hyatt would allow guests to be hassled in this way. Also, I was provided a free 3 day, 2 night stay but when I tried to redeem it, I was told that it was the wrong contract number.
