Hit and miss
Personally don’t think this is a 5 star resort (4 stars maybe?). Yes there are a lot of things that make the hotel great but other things that just let it down. The hotel and facilities look nice at first glance. However it needs a lot of renovations and updates. Some of the cushions on the sunbeds had mould growing on them. Floors around the pool aren’t washed as there were dried stains from peoples drinks all around the sunbeds. I don’t think the bathrooms were monitored properly, as there would be multiple blocked toilets, in some bathrooms door handles were nearly falling off, I nearly got stuck in one of the bathrooms. Some exposed wiring in the lifts. Patio door handle in our room was cracked and was close to breaking. Also don’t think you can call yourselves a luxury resort while catering to guests who behave like like hooligans and have no consideration for other guests (screaming, shouting or blasting their own music on Bluetooth speakers so you can’t hear the vibe team..) and unfortunately the staff allow the guests to behave this way. Beach/Pool Area - Service from waiters/staff was really hit and miss by the pool. We asked 3 different members of staff by the pool for an umbrella, each person said one moment and then never helped, this happened quite on multiple days so we just stopped asking and did it ourselves. Ended up trying to move the very heavy umbrellas ourselves and ended up hurting our backs. Understand that the bars don’t open until 10am but when the temperature is nearing the 30s at 9am and you can’t even get a glass of water from the bar that’s abit ridiculous. Beach was always well kept and clean, they had a tractor rake up any seaweed in the mornings. Taboo lounge - Always had great service from the waiters and bar staff. Amazing drinks. I’m missing the frozen strawberry daiquiris! At the buffet restaurant.. again some staff could be hit and miss. Always had absolutely amazing service from Edgar in the evenings. One example, at breakfast I asked 2 different members of staff for coffee which I never received after waiting 35 minutes.. (asked once person when we were seated, and another person again 15 minutes later), completely understand if it was busy but it wasn’t so I ended up leaving and was the only person in our group who didn’t get a hot drink. I never asked for a hot drink again at breakfast and stuck to water because I didn’t trust that I would receive it. Also sometimes I would finish my drink, I would be asked if I wanted a refill, I’d say yes please and then it would never come. Food in the buffet was hit and miss, sometimes the meats would be too salty. Chopsticks - I visited the Chopsticks by myself and it was absolutely amazing! I think the food and sushi was absolutely fantastic and so was the service, my waiter was very attentive and lovely! Really wish I returned again before leaving! Hunters Steakhouse - we visited 3 times and the first 2 times were fantastic, had amazing service and the food was amazing! The 3rd visit we left quite disappointed - the food was great but the service from our waiter wasn’t. He wasn’t very attentive, we finished our drinks quite quickly and were never offered a top up, then after we’d finished our mains we decided we were going to order dessert, but the waiter came and took our plates from us in complete silence didn’t ask about our meal or if we wanted anything else so we expected that he would come back… but he never did. We waited about 10 minutes for him to come back and he never did so we got up and left - this was our last night before going home so this left us feeling quite disappointed. Night Activities/Entertainment - found the entertainment quite underwhelming. The vibe team were amazing (especially Alexander! I love him) and always had great energy! They would have a couple of good shows on occasionally which was great! I enjoyed the Bingo, although I would prefer the old fashioned pen and dabber bingo instead of playing on my phone. Karaoke was super fun. Things like silent party, Neon Party, Hip Hop party are all pretty boring, so most evenings you’d find that there wasn’t much to do if you didn’t want to go to a party. Also the schedule on the app is not accurate nor are the locations of activities - the schedule would say Royalton theater, but it would actually be in the Taboo lounge. Then some nights we couldn’t work out where the activities were as the Royalton theater and Taboo lounge would sometimes both be empty. Still couldn’t work out by the end of the holiday where the Sunset Terrace was. The App needs updating more regularly - The drinks menus for the bars aren’t accurate either. I would try order a drink that was on the menu and the poor waiter behind the bar would have no idea what I was talking about. Spa - the Spa was amazing! Myself and my mum both had 80 minute massages and loved it! Both of our masseuse’s were amazing! I’ve never felt more relaxed in my life! Highly recommend going to the spa! Nexus Tours - I wouldn’t recommend booking with Nexus tours in the hotel. Booked some excursions with them, decided that we didn’t feel comfortable with one of the excursions after talking about it so wanted to cancel (gave about 6 days notice), only to be told they only refund via PayPal. We paid in cash (pesos) so this is completely unfair and unacceptable considering that a lot of online reviews say they’ve been waiting 3 months for refunds. We’ve only just received 1 out of 2 refunds and also been charged a fee by PayPal to receive the refund. So we’ve lost out not only with the exchange rate but also the PayPal fees! The hotel should really hold Nexus accountable. Had another incident where we needed to pay for some things that were charged against the room, my mums card was declined so I paid for it on my card (about £70). However the payment was still taken from my mums bank despite being “declined”, so we’ve essentially paid it twice though the hotel have said they only received one payment… anyway she left it nearly 3 weeks and has had put a dispute in with her bank to try get the money back. Overall had some great experiences here but equally not so great experiences which just left us disappointed. Unsure whether we would return at this point.

Relaxing
Gilbert and Cesar made our stay enjoyable. They were the highlights of the trip. Very relaxing trip. Complaints - parties were pretty dead. Foam party didn't have foam just a few bubbles. The drinks were heavily watered down. Room service menu was very limited and time slots were limited for delivery. Beach and regular pool were nice. Diamond club pool was small and crowded.

Great weekend
Overall it was a great experience . Resort was bery clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful . I will be staying here again my next visit to cancun . Huge thanks to the staff that were very responsive and accommodating ( Jim , Camille and our butlers Marisol and Arturo

10/10 recommend!!
I went on a girls’ trip to Royalton Chic Cancun with four friends (all mid-30s), and we had an amazing time! We upgraded to the Diamond Club, which was absolutely worth it for the incredible butler service — Gina and Gilbert were fantastic, checking in often, making dinner reservations, and making everything effortless. Diamond Club also includes free hydrotherapy, which was such a great experience — I highly recommend trying it! The food was great overall — the Italian restaurant Vespa was our favorite (we would’ve gone twice if we had more time!), and both the Asian and Mexican restaurants were great too. I also appreciated that reservations kept wait times short and service quick. The main pool was a blast with daily activities like water volleyball, foam parties, and beer pong. The vibe team truly made the trip — especially Dany, who brought amazing energy and fun. He honestly felt like part of our group by the end! Shout out to you Dany!!!!!! Tip: Bring cash to tip your waiters, butlers, and vibe team — 99% of the staff we interacted with were wonderful and really set the tone for such a great experience. They deserve it! Highly recommend Royalton Chic Cancun for a fun, high-energy getaway with great food, service, and people! It was absolutely worth the value!

Overall worth the visit
The resort is in a great location with just a short walk to bars/clubs and restaurants. Or bus ride to mall. The area is heavy on security if that’s a concern. So first impressions are a big deal in my opinion. Upon entering the resort we were immediately taken into the diamond club check in after being given a refreshing drink. There was a lady standing behind us there waiting for us to finish to “help us get finished checking in.” Nothing to do with checking in, but to get us to sign up for a time share presentation, not called this but it is. Our bad for not knowing how to say no. So after handing over 40.00 and agreeing to spend 1.5 hours of our short trip in a presentation we were on our way. We met our lovely butler Gina! She went to work immediately trying to help us in any way she could from arranging dinner reservations to showing us around etc. she was a great part of our trip. The resort provides a fun atmosphere from foam parties, dances, shows and more! With the amount of people there during our visit that were not diamond club left the diamond specific parties pretty empty and lame. And the alcohol served as diamond club liquor is the normal alcohol at most resorts. And the mixers/ juices all the way around were not very good and super sweet. One huge dissatisfaction was the hot tub which was not hot or even warm. In the evenings and rainy days it was chilly. The hot tub would have been nice to have. Our room was nice and clean. Quiet, beds were comfy and AC was icy cold! There’s also ceiling fans which is a bonus for me! The pillows on the other hand were bad. I didn’t bring mine as pillow menus were offered as part of diamond club. But that offering is no longer available. Although after complaining to the right person, I was delivered two perfect feathered pillows which greatly improved my sleep! The food wasn’t bad for all inclusive. Some places better than others. But all service was top notch! If it wasn’t that we had our butler Gina to greet us everyday with her beautiful smile and sweet demeanor, I’d say diamond club was not worth the extra charge. Maybe if it was busier, it does give more options for seating and an extra place to order drinks. Although if these areas were open to everyone it would be a lot nicer. All that to say, if anyone who mattered read this. Stop harassing people for the time share presentation and sales pressure and the resort would be a lot better and people may be more likely to return. Oh and the beach here is amazing!
