Too Little Value for the Too High Prices
We spent a few nights here with our family and friends. The marina is centrally located in the Abacos, which is the highlighted feature of Abaco Beach Resort. For $550 - $1200 PER night, you are staying in a motel with outdated flooring, bedding, bathroom, and doors that do not shut all the way without force. The bathtub wasn't secured to the tub (IN TWO OF OUR ROOMS) -- there were pockets of space so it felt crunchy and unsettling. Otherwise, the water was hot and the water pressure was nice. BEWARE: At the pool bar, we witnessed the bartender pouring well liquor (cheap liquor) into a top shelf bottle. Nothing is cheap about the alcohol purchased, but the deception bothered us. Restaurant: There is ONE restaurant. The waiters are sometimes happy, sometimes not. The food is imported and very expensive, including the fruit. We were disappointed there was no fruit on the menu from the islands--instead we received American fruit (cantaloupe, old strawberries, etc) PRICES: The cost of 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 1 piece of toast, packaged jelly and butter, plus a cup of coffee = $29 US before tip and tips are expected. Tap water is free, bottled water at the bar cost $10 US!!!!! Dinner wasn't better in taste or quality, and the prices were very high, much higher than breakfast. Lunch items were tasty. When we return to the Abacos, we will stay in Hopetown where the value is comparable for the price. If you plan to stay here, bring your own bottled water and go to the grocery store off property. You can at least pick up coffee for your room and breakfast or lunch items. OVERALL, I want to give the place a higher ranking because we had a good time each day when we left the resort on our boat. But the actual resort is NOT a resort. It is a motel with one restaurant and two bars that serve well liquor in top shelf bottles. Very deceiving and overpriced.

Abaco's Beautiful but Abaco Beach Resort Over Priced for experience
For claiming this is a resort, think again! Cheap bedding, towels, no floor rugs, no spa. They barely cleaned the room, the floors were so dirty we walked in the room with shoes. The sink didn't drain, was reported to the cleaning person and we were told to call maintenance...not our duty. Staff was friendly, but lazy from the main service to the marina, to front office. Between the room, marina, VAT Tax, Credit Card exchange our daily cost was just shy of $1,000 daily. The only compliment was the Chef...outstanding! Bring your own blow-dryer, coffee maker, food, liquor and drinks.

Disappointed
1/5 Stars Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype I really wanted to love Abaco Beach Resort, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. The location is beautiful, resort well maintained minor issues here and there, but could enhance more quality accessories in the bathroom/bedroom. Water pressure was low in the mornings, but it's understandable. Serving staff at both restaurants were very friendly —no doubt—but that's about the only positive things I can say. First off, the service was shockingly poor for a resort that markets itself as “luxury.” poolbar staff were inattentive . Requests for basic amenities (like clean towels or bottled water in our rooms were either ignored or took hours to fulfill. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been deep-cleaned in ages( bring your own cleaning products). Our room was skipped two days in a row. Dining options at the terrace were limited and overpriced with the same food menu for ages now. Portion size didn't make sense at the terrace. The Bistro WOW..food was IL CIBO ERA DELIZIOSO !! Coffee tastes bad and rather asks for a latte, but waitresses have no knowledge of how to make it, and I have to walk over to the coffee café. We had to wait over an hour for cold, bland food more than once at the terrace. Also, if you’re planning to relax by the beach, bring your own towels ,beach attendees didn't want to offer any clean and dry beach towels. For the price we paid, I expected far better accommodation. Rather invest in quality or guest experience .

There are better resorts .
look for another place to stay! not worth it for what you pay.Towels in the rooms are old and hard. The room was dirty and dusty. Overpriced food and tasteless. Coffee tasted so bad that I couldn't drink it anymore, expected a Breville espresso coffee.Aloha java has a better coffee machine. Property is well maintained, maintenance was on call and on time, most hard-working team. Beach attendants are lazy. General Manager and his wife nowhere to be seen only heard about them, maybe they are too busy or important to socialize with guests. You see more of the owner and the director chief engineer on property. Heard one guest said he asked the director chief engineer where to find a proper gym and with no hesitation he said be ready I'll come pick you upon and it was after hours (that's Guest Relations). He interacts more with the guests. Maybe the owner should offer him the general manager position. The owner concentrates more on the wrong things than uplifting the resort like a spa than a pickleball court.Prostitutes come sit there and harassing our husband's,how are they even allowed on the property? So that's a no return for me.

Your Only Marah Harbour Option Isn't a Good One
Though service was friendly, it wasn't enough to compensate for the lack of housekeeping services, below average food quality and expense of the resort. Housekeeping is my biggest complaint. Service was inconsistent. Some days we'd get two new towels but no bath mat or water. Some days we got all new towels but no water or coffee. Most days we either got no new glassware or it was filthy. We got a "new" glass that was filled with fingerprints and lipstick and lip prints that are not mine. The floors were FILTHY. Not just in our room but others complained too. Filthy. The counters were wiped down during service either. To their credit, each afternoon a supervisor came by and asked if we needed anything else. Most times we had just gotten off the boat and didn't know what we had or didn't have. Once I asked for coffee to be replaced and she brought it immediately. Room rates including tax and fees were almost $600 per night. I get it. Make your money during the season. But there's no value My message to the asset owners is: I hope you are taking care of your employees because you're making a lot of money on these rooms and F&B and the only valuable asset you have is the people who work there.
