Fraudulently Charged for a Pre-Paid Cruise Package
Stayed at this hotel for two nights in early January 2026. This was a pre-cruise package we purchased from our cruise line that included transfer from the airport to the hotel, and then transfer from the hotel to the cruise ship two days later. The only plus in my opinion is that the hotel is right on the beach. The beach has lounge chairs for free but if you want an umbrella or a mattress on your lounger you have to pay for it. The hotel is old and worn out. When you walk in the floor is old worn tile and there are speed bumps on every threshold which makes it hard to roll your bag across. Directions to our room were given when we checked in - 2nd floor turn left go through the glass doors. Off the elevator on the 2nd floor the glass doors led into a party room with the cheesiest looking new year decorations. Back to the lobby and the desk clerk went with us to the second floor. Turns out there is a long hallways you have to navigate to find a single glass door that leads out to a pool area. This is the pool the "mermaid" swims in for the mermaid show - more about that later. After another right turn and left turn we found our room as the doors open to this pool area which has very narrow walkways around the pool to get to your room. The clerk didn't really know where our room was but had us wait just outside the glass door while she looked for it. Finally round it. I was glad she helped us find it as there was no concierge or bellman in the lobby. There were no luggage carts to use. For a large hotel this was really odd. Our room was so tiny Iot was hard to believe. One King bed, one chair, and a very tiny bathroom. The bathroom had a standalone sink with no surround for putting your stuff on. There was a wooden shelf just above the toilet that was being propped up by a roll of toilet paper. On the second day we had to use that roll and when we pulled it out the front of the shelf fell so good thing we didn't put anything on it. It had a walk-in shower with a little mold around the bottom edges but otherwise seemed clean and usable. We ate dinner at the "Wreck Bar" in the lobby. Just okay but expensive. The "highlight" was windows that looked into the pool on the second floor and a woman dressed as a mermaid was swimming around. Sheets and bedding were clean. We ate breakfast in the morning at the buffet in the lobby - again food was okay but expensive. This was a very disappointing start to our 22 day caribbean cruise but we tried to make the best of it by walking on the beach in the mornings. There is nothing else to do nearby or to talk to. We are in our 70's so don't have the stamina or ability to walk long distances. The worst thing happened at and after checking out. I was handed an invoice for the two nights $616. We had prepaid for this hotel package through the cruise line months previously. I told the desk clerk it was already paid for, he looked at the computer and said "oh yeah, that's right." I then asked for a revised invoice that showed nothing due (we paid paid for our meals separately and did not charge anything to the room). He told me oh, you will just get a blank piece of paper. Okay. A few days into our cruise I checked my credit card online and saw that we had been charged $616 by the B Oceanfront Resort. I went to guest services on the ship and they let me use their phone to call. I called the "accounting/billing" department at the hotel and spoke with Donna. I explained the situation and asked for the charge to be removed from my credit card. She said just a moment while she looks it up. I held and held and held and she never came back to the call so I had to hang up. I tried callings four more times after that on different days and always got voice mail. I left a detailed message each time but the charge was not removed from my credit card. Finally submitted a dispute with my bank. Called the hotel one last time and selected "reservations" so maybe I could at least talk to someone. Spoke with a very nice man and asked him for the name of the hotel's general manager and contact information, which he gave me. Sent an email to the general manager with all the details. FINALLY, on January 26th I see the charge reversed on my credit card. I don't yell or berate, I am very nice and stick to the facts. I'm not sure who to thank for finally getting this charge resolved - the bank dispute or the general manager of the hotel, but thank you. We will never stay at the B Ocean Hotel again. This is a dump of a hotel in our opinion.

Calu is the best
Calu (bartender) at the sandbar beach hut was what made our regular hotel stay exceed our expectations. She's who makes you wanna come back and hang out on the beach shooting the sh*t with her, having some cold bevies. She's the difference between a regular stay and wanting to extend your stay to hang out longer. Bummer to leave, she made all the difference.

Utterly Fantastic!!
Wow!! And double wow! Everything about this place was spectacular. We have to give a special shout out to Marie and Joe at the front desk. They made sure everything was perfect for us. I’d go back in an instant. The hotel was beautiful, as was the beach.

Okay resort
The hotel is nice, but some areas requires updates. Bathroom in room at marina area need to be updated. The Florida Bar inside the hotel is ridiculously overpriced, charged 18% gratuity, doesn’t matter if good service or bad service. The buffet on Saturday was way overpriced, 80 bucks for two of us, charged on top of 18% gratuity, but the waiter only brought us water. The beach is nice. I do no like be told few times, the beach is closing. The workers wanted to get it done earlier. They wanted to rush us and several off the beach, who closed the beach with chairs at 5?
