    Gorgeous relaxing week!

This place exceeded so many expectations! After seeing some pretty harsh, and negative reviews I really was worried it wasn't going to be as it was cracked up to be. I was definitely NOT disappointed! The rooms were cleaned to a fantastic standard every day, the maids were so lovely and kind, nothing was too much trouble whatsoever. The mini fridge bar was stocked daily and you could still request things on the app! We didn't get great WiFi in the room but I am not that fussed about sitting on the Internet all day, when I am here to relax and spend time with family! The food was fabulous and so much choice. The buffet was plentiful, hot and always seemed fresh. They had children's stations and catered for people that may be a little fussy with eating. We tried two of the restaurants outside of the buffet; the Circus steakhouse which was okay, but the Italian (Il Paradiso) was divine! The tuna steak is a must! Again the waiting staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. You could always get sunbeds and they were kind enough to change if it rained (which we was lucky only happened one day of our 7) The entertainment was decent and loads of relaxing places to sit and enjoy a drink. All staff across the board were helpful and kind (special shout out to Genesis in the main buffet, she was such a gem, with such smile and grace in everything she did) I would absoluteky return as I enjoyed every moment!

    Bedrooms are old

Hotel rooms are looking old, beds very uncomfortable and the bathrooms shower and mirror rusted. The staffs at the buffet are very limited, not the best attention

    Fantasia review

Traveled last week of 7/2025. Family trip. We went to celebrate our kids bday. Service provided to make their day memorable was awesome. We had happy bday sign on door. We ordered cake and they sang with instruments. The kids loved it. For this I give hospitality and service a 10 Hotel. Was nice. Very clean. A little outdated but that’s it. The property to my opinion was beautiful. Food. I give it an 4 out of 10. Only one day the food was AMAZING (a 10+) only because it was Dominican day. The food was majorly celebrating their culture which was delicious. Food could had tasted better. Many dishes didn't look appealing. And lacked flavor. Desserts were pretty to look at. But not good. Ice cream was a hit. Drinks. I give it a zero. Now. I’m not expecting to drink and get piss drunk. But I expect to enjoy my drink. The liquor used, is definitely watered down. My husband would have shots of whiskey and beer and walked a straight line. Unlike if he were back in the states, if he would had all those amounts of shots and drinks He probably would had alcohol poisoning and laying in a ditch somewhere. Again, we were not looking to get piss drunk. But this was not close to top shelf liquid. The fruity drinks example, piña coladas. No bueno. The non alcoholic piña tasted much better. The after taste it left in your mouth, kinda tasted like diet soda. Or using the fake sugar like Splenda. Pools were kept clean. Finding lounge chairs with shade was hard to find if you didn’t get there early. The pool water best enjoyed the early hours in the morning. After noon or maybe even after 1. The water was HOT. HOT. HOT! The showers heads by pools are the coolest if you want to cool down from the heat. Also the kids water park was the best to my opinion. The water was always cool and fun. Again this is my opinion. Maybe others did not feel this way. This isn’t our first time in Punta Cana. We have stayed at 3, 4 and 5 star hotels. This one was the least of our liking. Mainly because of the food and drinks.

    Slipping of Standards.

Tried to give the review via the Bahia feedback form sent via email, but it couldn't submit with a message forbidden access! Check-in after 15 hours of travel at Fantasia took an hour and a half. The privilege member of staff was ill-trained, very rude and gave incorrect information. The start of the holiday was marred by the experience and because he could not handle the check in and give the correct information, he went as far as to threaten to call security, just because we said some of us would wait by the reception bar! On finally checking in, we discovered that we did not have a castle view that we had paid for and could only see trees, and our special request for our normal rooms had not been honoured. We were also told by the same privilege concierge that we could no longer make any international calls, that privilege has been removed, so we could not call our family to let them know we had arrived safely. We then discovered that the teen's club at Fantasia had been closed down for repairs, something that we should have been informed of as soon as this happened, at booking and at the very least before our arrival. It seems that Bahia fails to let people know what is different before they book, as this has happened before. In Mexico we were unceremoniously dumped in the Grande hotel when we specifically booked luxury, because the luxury had been moved to adults only, a reason for us not returning to Mexico since then, and also for us not going to Jamaica. Also, once upon a time we got small alcohol bottles provided in the rooms so we could have a pre-dinner drink prior to going to the restaurant, a touch that has been removed and only discoverable on arriving at the resort. This is a failing on Bahia's side and should be rectified, let your returning customers know what has changed even if it is for the worst. Seems that the luxury part is disappearing, you don't even have Bahia branding on the slippers. The AC in the room at Fantasia was not working and we slept one night in the heat without an AC and the rooms at Fantasia need refurbishing, very tired looking. If you are selling a dream you need to ensure that you make that dream truthful. Also, there are not enough staff at the privilege beach area ensuring that the area is occupied by privilege members only. It is not great turning up and discovering there are no seats left under the umbrellas because they have been taken up by non-privilege guests.
