Not a bad escape to paradise

This was our 3rd time staying at the Bahia in Jamaica - 2nd time on the Luxury side. It is one hour away from the Montego Bay airport, which isn't fun and it's not cheap to get there. The Luxury side is quiet, so if you are looking for a bit more then you should walk over to the Grand side. Restaurants and buffets are centrally located on the Grand side, so do plan to walk some if you are on the far sides of the resort. It is hard to get into the a la carte restaurants. If you don't book them upon the first day of your arrival, it will be difficult to get in. Our room was average - ocean front, king bed, jacuzzi tub. It was very clean. The mattress in our room was worn. You can tell it needs to be replaced because both sides were a bit sunken in. The mini bar is nice, but they only restock drinks not snacks. The elevator closest to our room worked intermittently. The door keypad to our room also broke at one point. The room service menu is very limited and doesn't change. It doesn't have any breakfast items other than fruit. The overall atmosphere of the resort is typical of an all-inclusive. There are activities at the pool and on the beach, but you have to go off property to Mo Bay and Ocho Rios if you want to see anything else. That said, off property activities are expensive. We went to Dolphin Cove, which was really fun. I recommend that experience. We also visited the Bob Marley mausoleum. Not worth it in my opinion. It's a very long, bumpy, and windy road getting there. Once you are there, it's a bunch of shops then you see his childhood home, his and his mother's mausoleum, and some of his record plaques. You are able to smoke marijuana the whole time, so I do not recommend this if you do not smoke or have kids with you. The staff, for the most part, are friendly and inviting, but I will say that I did not feel quite the same as I did the first time. Beware that they do not carry Budweiser and any other top shelf liquors like Tito's are an extra cost, which, to me, seems silly at an all-inclusive. They are making updates and changes to the resort, which is great. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Bahia Village over the next year. Also beware that Jamaica is a poor country, so you will be asked to tip everyone. Getting around is expensive. Renting a car is expensive. Always have cash on hand!

My Tropical Experience at the Bahia Principe Luxury

I attended a Retreat at the Bahia Principe Luxury/Runaway Hotel in Jamaica in October 2025. I truly enjoyed my stay there; the hotel is beautiful. The staff (hotel /restaurants) displayed exemplary mannerisms at all times were highly professional. I plan to revisit in the near future and recommend Bahia Principe Luxury Hotel to family and friends.

    I enjoy being privilege😊

My husband and I stayed from October 1 to October 08,2025 as privileged guest members. The room was spotless and comfortable, check-in was efficient, and the dining was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful — small touches (late-night assistance, complimentary amenities, etc.) made our stay exceptional. Overall an amazing experience; we would happily return.

    One Love

Firstly we would like to thank Alejandro and Joden for welcoming us back to “our second home”. From the start until the end of our holiday, Alicia and Peta-Gaye from guest experience made sure we were ok and had everything we needed. They were exceptional!! We had a fast check in and the girls were very friendly. There is so much to write about all of the staff.. from the fabulous La Isla staff…Carlyle, Shenika, Tereshia and Cornell (all of whom checked on us regularly, and looked after us), to the entertainment staff..Andre in particular stood out. So friendly and went out of his way to come over and say hi and make sure we were having a good time. Also Jason who did Water Aerobics! Always had a smile on his face. We must also mention the Sommeliers, room service staff, house keeping and person who stocked fridge..he always chatted to us. Orlando on the buggies (friendly and so patient, giving my husband time to get to and from the buggy). Unfortunately, this holiday, my husband had reduced mobility due to a bad fall a few months ago, but every single member of staff would help if they saw that he needed it! We have been coming to this hotel since it was built and used to stay on family side before that. We will always come back! Only small negatives Tv kept turning itself off Breakfast (room service could be hotter) New cabanas need a full roof cover over as sun would shine through and we got soaked when it rained. No big deal but worth mentioning. We will be back!
