    First time with friends

We returned to Sian kaan for the third time, this time with friends. We stayed from the 9th to the 19th of April. The weather was fantastic although there was a lot of seaweed at the beach this time there was none in December. So most days we stayed around the pool, the entertainment crew ,led by Delmar are fantastic at keeping you entertained during the day with lively games around the activity pool, examples are ladder toss, darts ,beanbag toss mini golf, water polo and volleyball as well as trivia and bingo. All the games are for fun not competitive. Other members of the entertainment crew were Juanito ,Alex, Gracie, Ximena and Katya all were terrific. If you want quiet there is another pool too relax and read with no distractions, all the pools have drink service daily as well. The food in the buffet was always good and fresh always fresh fruits and vegetables, breads , sweets , ice cream, different styles of potatoes and rice , several different meats each day. We didn’t do supper at the buffet we always went to one of the many different a la carte restaurants throughout the complex 18 different ones I think . As guests at Sian Kaan you have access to all the bars restaurants buffets throughout all 4 resorts in the complex. All the staff in the restaurants and buffets and bars are very friendly and efficient.I Will give a special acknowledgment to Eglaydy and her co workers Rocia ,Fernando and Rosario for making our breakfast’s and lunches very enjoyable with her playful attitude and Spanish lessons, Our friends had a very enjoyable trip and Eglaydy was a joy to see everyday. The trolleys that shuttled us around everyday were always on time and the drivers always went out of their way to help get us where we were going if they could. Overall if you want a relatively quiet vacation with a semi older crowd I would highly recommend Sian Kaan ,there is nightly entertainment as well some 80s music ,some live music some dj, silent disco , karaoke and other stuff too . The rooms are spacious clean and quiet beds comfortable. We hope to return soon. I forgot to mention the Origen show at Tulum resort is terrific definitely worth seeing. We also went to the Mayan ruins in Chitzen Itza it was a long day but a great excursion.

2nd time the charm and love for this location.

This was our second visit to Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an, and honestly, it keeps getting harder to leave. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are pristine, the beach is spotless (no water shoes needed!), and the atmosphere is pure paradise — but what really makes it unforgettable is the people. From the moment we arrived, the team at Guest Services went above and beyond. Massive shoutout to Diana and Isabel, who somehow pulled off miracles and squeezed us into à la carte restaurants on our last two days. (If these two ran an airline, there would never be an overbooked flight again.) At the Yal-Ku Restaurant Buffet, the experience was just as top-notch. Miriam, our server, was a morning angel — our coffee cups were never empty, and she had a sixth sense for knowing what we needed before we even asked. And Edgar, the food manager, runs the buffet like a five-star dining experience: everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and always fully stocked. If you’ve ever been to a buffet that ran out of bacon... trust me, that horror story doesn't happen here. Special mention to Alina, who took our dinners to a whole new level. Every evening, she greeted us with a warm smile that could light up the room, often decorating our table to make it feel extra special. She even surprised us with little custom drinks — and somehow always knew exactly what we were craving before we could even ask. Dining with Alina looking after us made every dinner feel like a celebration, not just another meal. The infinity pool is picture-perfect, the beach (in certain areas) is soft and swimmable, and the resort itself is a quiet, adults-only oasis that hits every mark. Now, in the spirit of full honesty, here’s my only tiny complaint: When we arrived, all the à la carte restaurants were fully booked. We didn’t know you could book about 10 days ahead before arriving — so by the time we checked in, spots were gone. While it was a little disappointing not to enjoy more à la cartes during our stay, thanks to Diana and Isabel, we still managed to get into two fabulous dinners at the end. And honestly, with how good the Yal-Ku Buffet is, we were far from roughing it! In short: Amazing service everywhere Beautiful beach and pools Spotless rooms Phenomenal food Incredible staff who treat you like family. Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an isn't just a resort — it's a second home. Already counting down the days until trip #3... and yes, next time we'll be those smart folks booking our dinners early!

    Bottom of the barrel

Been coming to Riviera Maya for 30 years and stayed at many different resorts and so far I have nothing positive to say about Bahía Sian Ka’an. It has Luxury in the name but literally nothing is luxury. The room is roomy but barren, old, moldy smell, no tub, no view, tiny balcony, one sink, no dresser to put clothes! There are about 4 tiny pools, very little shade, no beds, just basic lounge chairs. Some with umbrellas that provide little shade and some with no umbrellas at all. There is no gym! You need to take a 15 minute shuttle to go to an indoor gym. We tried the gym at Coba and the AC barely worked. So expect a hot sweaty workout. We were told there was a fire show when checking in. We asked when and the guy didn’t know when or where. He said he thought it was Sunday. On Sunday we looked at the app and didn’t show it. We asked several workers and none could find it. One said it was canceled. No reason given. Food is very plain and lackluster. 2-3 stars at best. Bacon was inedible and French toast completely mushy. It’s set in the jungle but there are no nice jungle walking paths or anything interesting to see. For entertainment you need to take a 15 minute shuttle to one of the other resorts. Same for the beach. I don’t know how there are a lot of great reviews. It’s not even quiet during the day! The pool is extremely noisy! Trust me and avoid this place. Stay anywhere else. A few places that are way better for the same price or less are Barcelo Maya, Grand Palladium, El Dorado and Occidental Xcaret. This place is the pits!

    Extremely disappointing......

This is the first review I’ve ever written on TripAdvisor, although I’ve used the platform for years to read reviews before booking any trip. After this particular experience, I felt compelled to share my thoughts to help others make a more informed decision. I visited Riviera Maya about seven years ago on an all-inclusive trip with TUI, so I had a good idea of what to expect: decent food, beautiful beaches, and relaxing pool areas. With that in mind, my friend and I decided to book another adults-only resort, and I chose this one primarily for its proximity to Tulum. One of the few positives is that guests at this hotel have access to the facilities at the neighboring resorts — thankfully! The pools and amenities at the other hotels were noticeably nicer, and we found ourselves spending most of our time there, taking the golf buggy back and forth daily. As for this hotel, unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The rooms were spacious, which is a plus, but that’s about where the positives end. We never had hot water throughout our stay, and while the staff blamed plumbing issues, it felt more like a common and ongoing problem. My room had broken blinds, a leaking minibar fridge, and stained bed sheets. Even when we checked in, there were dirty glasses left outside our room. The staff, especially the waiters, were generally friendly, but the level of service clearly hinged on tipping. It felt like good service was only given to those who consistently tipped — something that’s unfortunately becoming more common in tourist-heavy areas. The food was another major letdown. While there was a wide selection and everything looked appealing at first glance, the quality and hygiene left a lot to be desired. Utensils were mixed between dishes, many items were mislabeled, and as a vegetarian, I was particularly disappointed to find one dish labeled as vegetarian actually wasn’t. The specialty restaurants weren’t much better — the food was bland, the service was poor, and overall, it just didn’t meet expectations. I’m genuinely disappointed that my first TripAdvisor review is a negative one, but I wanted to be honest and hopefully save someone else from the same experience. While the neighboring hotel facilities are a saving grace, this particular resort falls short in too many areas — dated, unclean rooms, poor food hygiene, and underwhelming service.

    Jungle paradise!

Sian Ka'an is a lovely jungle resort, shaded by trees and surrounded by lush plants. Everything is kept super clean, the rooms are very comfortable and the food and drinks can't be beat. But the best feature is the friendly staff, who go out of their way to make your vacation just wonderful! We had lots of laughs with them and felt like we made good friends! The beach is quiet nice, lots of loungers - there was seaweed issues along the shore, but not at the Sian Ka'an section. The water is not deep, but it is warm and clear. Bring water shoes as there are rocks in the water. The food at the beach was great, and the bathroom was clean and located close by. The trolley to the beach and the other three resorts (for other restaurants, etc.) was never a long wait. The shows each night were very entertaining! The fiesta was fun and the Origens show was amazing!
