Jan 25, 2026Large Resort, clean, felt safe.
We have stayed at other Barcelo resorts (in Mexico) and chose to stay with same in the D.R. We were in the Adults Only section of this resort which also gave us the option of using the larger family area too. Resort was very clean, including the rooms. Green spaces were well groomed and cared for. Beds were very comfortable. Our bathroom appeared 80's style. It had a bathtub with shower and looked they had attempted to renovate it with a coat of paint and some extra caulking around the tub. That said , it functioned well, just wasn't what we usually see. AC worked well. Fridge, hairdryer, bathroom supplies were all great. We had an issue with our room upon arrival - telephone, tv remote, and safe did not work. I asked a couple times to have them fixed or replaced. it wasn't until my husband requested the same the following day that guest services had someone attend to everything within the hour. They gave us an a la carte at no expense for our troubles. We chose to use it at the French restaurant on site which turned out to be an excellent meal with great service. The buffets (Caribe and La Brisa) were good. The options and variety at La Caribe was greater and they had a different country culinary theme each evening which was nice. We spent one day at the larger side of the resort (more pools, more people, etc.). We found it to be too busy and loud ... we sound old (53 & 57) ... but having spent most of our time at the Adults only pool we got used to the vibe there. That said it would have been nice to have some 80's music playing or really anything else as background music at one area of the pool to bring people together. We generally like to spend time on the beach while on vacation but found ourselves around the pool as the beach was very windy while we were there. This may be different at other times of the year. In regards to exercise ... my husband used the gym at Barcelo Palace (family side) every day and I took a walk around the resort (it covers 8 sq. kms.) or the beach (walked up the beach 3kms and back) each day. I felt completely safe. Regarding the bars ... we found them to be just like every other all-inclusive bar. The Barcelo Palace (family side) had a very large performance Theatre where we watched a variety of live performances. We liked the Micheal Jackson, Madonna, and Circus shows the best. One drawback is they don't start until 10pm, but hey, you got all day to lay around the pool and beach the next day so ... why not!

Loved this place! Would definitely come back! Some of our favorite things.. Hibachi, kayaks, water park, train rides, beauty of the property! Everyone so nice!

Group vacation
Had a wonderful trip/vacation with friends. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Elizabeth Rodrigus. See keep us well supplied with beverages and seemed happy to see us come in.

Outstanding hospitality from start to finish!!
The level of service across the entire resort really stood out to us and helped make our stay even more meaningful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and taken care of. The housekeeping team was excellent. The entertainment crew brought so much energy and fun: Louis, Kaeila, and Dany to name a few! The bartenders were friendly, cheerful, and incredibly kind!! Special shoutout to Elizabeth Rodriguez, Angel, and Antonio!! We celebrated my husband’s birthday during our trip and the staff helped make the day so special!! And lastly, I can’t forget the front desk and guest services crew (Evelyn) - they were very helpful whenever we needed something!! We were so grateful to all the staff at this resort!! We absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway!
