  Surf ride experience

  The lesson in the water park was very nice with Hanna ! I recommend it 100% ! Super experience ! The area is so clean and staff are great ! The hotel is beautifull and the food tasty ! .......................................................

  Animation Caribe Water Aerobics team was amazing Very friendly, high energy, very kind , and very social Samantha , Natalia , Edwin, and Estrella I had a great time with them getting myself back into summer shape I’m excited to try Zumba dance classes

  Recent family trip to Barcelo Maya Caribe

  Barcelo has the best beach in the Riviera Maya. If you like to walk, run or do jogging in great sidewalks and interior paths, this is your hotel. Beautiful gardens, great sights and very clean exteriors throughout the hotel. Maya Caribe is one of the quieter / less crowded hotels in the complex. Room quality /age is not their strength but I can assure you will find them very clean and functional. This is one of the best hotels for people with allergies since the air conditioning is always-on at the rooms, so they all feel great, clean and fungus / humidity free. Excellent bedding, linens and pillows. Barcelo is not the hotel for people looking for a high-level gastronomical experience. The food quality is acceptable but not something to remember. Evening restaurants are much better but they are difficult to reserve. Impossible to go on your first night because they have a 3 PM limit time for same-day dinner reservations. Overall portions are small in dinner restaurants and many waiters are not open to serve you more portions / quantity of the same dish. A service preference for international guests may be felt sometimes. On this visit, public area bathrooms were not clean enough. They should clean them more often. On the good side, everything else is very clean. I love Barcelo, I visit this hotel many times alone but this time I went with my family and although they had a good experience overall, they prefer other, more modern hotels. For them, rooms looked quite old and outdated and the Barcelo gastronomical experience was not up to par with their expectations. If you like the Spa, the hotel offers great massage services at very convenient prices and promos. The hydrotherapy section / experience is very good too. The size of the hotel means you have to walk large distances to grab towels or drinks at the pools and beach but for us it was not a problem. Having a little more beach and pool furniture will be awesome because sometimes you don't find an available spot. Overall Barcelo is a great hotel brand and you can expect a more consistent and much better quality than other Spanish hotel brands. I will sure come back many times in the future but most of them will be alone since my family prefers more modern rooms and a better gastronomical experience.

  BEWARE!!!!!! Don’t make the same mistake and book here!

  I honestly had high expectations based on the photos and other reviews, but my stay at Barceló Maya Caribe was beyond disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff were rude and made us feel like we were bothering them by checking in. The food at the buffet was another huge letdown. It was the same bland dishes every single day — cold, flavorless, and definitely not fresh. Trying to get a reservation at the restaurants was a nightmare too; everything was “full” even though half the tables were empty. Worst part? The service. Staff at the bars and restaurants seemed completely uninterested in helping guests unless you were handing out big tips constantly. Even basic drinks took forever, and multiple times our orders were completely wrong. For what we paid, this was absolutely not worth it. Would not stay again, and honestly, I would warn anyone considering this place to rethink it. When we talked to manager Carlos Lopez he was unprofessional, and very aggressive. BEWARE!!!!!

  Horrible Experience – Worst Management I Have Ever Encountered

  Warning to Future Guests: Unprofessional and Dishonest Management at This Resort (Ernesto Wong Placers & Juan Carlos Lopez Gabriel) As an experienced traveler who has visited countless hotels and resorts across the world, I can confidently say that my experience at this resort was among the worst I have ever endured. The behavior of the management—specifically Ernesto Wong Placers and Juan Carlos Lopez Gabriel—was not only shockingly unprofessional but downright dishonest and insulting. During my six-night stay, I was repeatedly disturbed by a loud party taking place directly on the resort property. Despite calling the front desk at 4:00 AM, no action was taken. When I personally approached the security staff at 4:30 AM, they refused to intervene and had the audacity to laugh and mock my concerns as I walked away. This behavior alone was inexcusable. The noise and disruption continued for four consecutive nights, each time accompanied by hollow assurances from the staff that it would be addressed. It never was. On the fifth day, I demanded to speak with a manager. Ernesto Wong Placers finally spoke with me but showed a complete lack of professionalism, responding dismissively with, “What do you want me to do about it?” When I requested contact information for the General Manager, I was stonewalled for hours. Only after persistent demands did they provide information, which turned out to be another blatant lie. Instead of giving me the General Manager’s details, I was given the contact for Juan Carlos Lopez Gabriel, an assistant—not the person in charge. The level of deception and disregard for guests shown by both Ernesto Wong Placers and Juan Carlos Lopez Gabriel is appalling. Their willingness to lie, their refusal to take responsibility, and their disrespect for guests’ basic rights should be a serious red flag to anyone considering this resort. I strongly urge future travelers to think twice before booking here. A beautiful property means nothing when the people running it are willing to lie to your face and treat you with such disrespect. Choose another place where honesty and professionalism are still valued.
