    Got lice from Barcelo Maya Palace.

    The hotel was overbooked and they tried to send people to the adults hotel. The pool was very dirty with a lot of hair in it. My kids got lice. Never go there again.

    Palace is still the Palace!

    This is our third trip to the Palace in 8 years and it was great to see how well it is maintained! The room key bracelet system is wonderful new addition. Also the taxis at the entrance will take you to local denotes which is far more interesting and unique than the giant eco-parks. We live Riviera Maya and especially Barcelo Palace!!

    Horrible check in experience and no dinner reservations- save your money, don’t go.

    Horrific experience checking in and making dinner reservations is a joke. We’ve been coming here for over 12 years and this is absolutely our last time. Every single time it gets worse. Takes FORVER to check in, rooms not ready even though it’s after 3 pm and they are supposed to be ready, extremely rude attendants at the check in counter, I could go on and on. We go to make dinner reservations and they tell us they don’t have any left for the entire week, even after saying we will split up our group, and show us their system showing they have a spot for 1 person (side note - all the tables are at least for 2, so this doesn’t even make sense). This place has run its course. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. We are still here and it’s honestly terrible. Even the food at the buffet has gone down in quality.

    A Bad Experience Turned to A Pleasant one thanks to Ms. Betzaida Romero

    Ms. Betzaida Romero kindly approached our table during breakfast to ask about our experience. We shared the difficulties we faced with restaurant reservations, and she listened attentively, took note, and spoke to her manager. Thanks to her help, we were able to secure dinner reservations for two nights. Ms. Romero was kind, proactive, and truly committed to solving our issue. Her excellent customer service made a significant difference and helped improve our overall experience. She was truly a bright spot during our stay. She deserves a raise for going above and beyond her normal responsibilities. She is making us change our rating from 2 stars to 5 stars.

    This Property Never Disappoints!

    Well kept property with friendly and helpful staff. They work hard to maintain the beach but sea weed is nothing they can control. A few issues at check in but the manager immediately resolved. A bit of a language barrier but nothing unexpected. Reservations were not easy but mostly due to us being a large group. Food was great but I wish the buffet stayed open later. We loved the pool and the bars were great. This is the first time we did not see the nightly shows so no ratings there. We found the premium upgrade worth it. We will visit again this property and again as we are already doing.
