Oct 18, 2025Great Food; Nice Beach; Courteous Staff
Barcelo Maya is a huge resort and I think it would be great for family. The beach is very nice. You can see lots of fish from the beach by the Hotel Palace, and also enjoy very sandy/smooth beach by hotel Beach. I visited five specialty restaurants for staying for five nights. I enjoyed all of them, but Caribeno - seafood restaurant was the best. Brasserie - the French restaurant was slow to bring out food and to be seated, but their food was excellent as well. If you visit Rodizio, Brazilian stakehouse, choose the skewer option. They will bring out like 7 different meat for you. La Fuente Spenish restaurant and Marenostrum, seafood restaurant was good as well, but I liked the three from Palace more. I was there during the week, and it seemed that they didn't open Kyoto or Tokyo. Room was kept clean and mini bars stocked every day. We had two different rooms, and one room with 4 people was humid, even with A/C and the ceiling fan on. (not hot; it was cool but humid - the floor was a little slippery time to time.) Almost all the staff you see were very nice and courteous. We all enjoyed the stay very much, and will probably come back.

Return Visit was Excellent as Expected!
Our second trip to Barcelona Maya Palace in less than a year was another incredible experience with superb hospitality! From start to finish, the staff took exceptional care to ensure our stay was everything we hoped for. The check-in and check-out processes went smoothly. Our room was clean, quiet, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The food at every restaurant was excellently prepared with high-quality ingredients and service was outstanding! We especially appreciated Jesus, Eric, and Francisco at Brasserie and Margarito, Reynaldo, and Alejandra at the El Cielo pool bar. We are already looking forward to returning to our favorite Mexican resort!

Great place to relax!
Palace is a great place to visit. The architecture and resort is "upper" scale without being ostentatious. The landscaping is nice and fits with the environment. I'm not a fan of "mega" type resorts or hotels, and the Maya Barcelo properties are great, not too large, and not too small. I plan to visit more Barcelo properties over the years to come.

The brightest ray of sunshine was when we checked out. Evelyn Correci restored our faith in the kindness and service we had come to expect from the premium lounge. She went over and above. Our entire stay, up to that point, was below average in service at the premium lounge, front desk and Manager. Evelyn kindness and care was exceptional in every way. Those staffing prior to our last day were hopefully the only employees who treated people as an annoyance.

La hacienda Restraint was amazing
It was very fun!!! The waiter Esteban Garcia was amazing I enjoyed the deserts and all the food I would recommend coming here!!
