we had a six day five nights stay.
Francisco and Miriam were FABULOUS in the Jamal-Ha. Restaurant!! The Italian restaurant was delicious. The steakhouse had wonderful cuts of steak. The seafood was a little disappointing, if you’re wanting crab, there’s none on the menu here. There is a There is a beautiful lagoon that is an 10 minute walk along the beach and it is a must see while you are here. Overall, we had a fabulous time for a six day five night stay.

Good meals, good time.. staff is welcoming. The buffet is great. No problem for people with allergies to peanuts, nuts, sunflower seeds, peas, beans, etc. My wife was able to eat decent meals every day even at all the 'a la carte' restaurants. The Steakhouse/Sea food restaurants building need to get doors so cats and birds can't get in.

- rooms need renovation (see photos) - room smell musky (we bought candles at walmart for this) - food is bad (buffets are terrible. a la carte dinners are decent) - beach is all seaweed & good luck finding a seat at the beach or the main pool (all have towels on them) - staff look like they don't want to work there/ not friendly - service is the worst i've experienced (it took 5 attempts (4 phone calls and 1 front desk visit) to get bottled water delivered to room after 15 hours - room service manager (michelle) hang up on me during it and refuse to apologize) - long line ups for front desk (not enough staff at the front) - elevator doesn't work in building 6 - poor sound insulation (we could hear next door's tv playing at night or people's luggages in the hallway) - because the hotel is so underwhelming, we wanted to rent a car to get to town to get some decent food and sit at a decent beach. The car rental on site is very expensive compared to the car rentals 20mins away but hotel would not let car rental person come to lobby, and refused to shuttle us to the front, said we can pay 100 pesos for taxi to drive us there so we walked 10 mins to pick the car up. - the taxi radio app doesn't cover the hotel's location, so you have to pay $30 usd one way to playa del carmen for the taxi at hotel. pro: wifi is good, covers most of hotel in summary: i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. you get less than what you paid for here.
