  Amazing

  I love this resort and the food was ok for an all inclusive and the drinks were good. The rooms are spacious and the staff is welcoming .

  Vacation from Canada

  Luna, Alfredo and Lisbeth are great animation staff. Get everyone involved in the activities , very friendly and made our vacation very enjoyable. Alfredo had the most energy and enthusiasm and was fun to be around! The kitchen staff were beyond hard working. Always making sure we had everything we needed , checking in on us and always had a smile on their faces. Food was great, view is amazing, beach is beautiful. By far my favourite resort I’ve been to in Puerto Plata (it is low season)

  Wonderful experience

  It has been an incredible experience for it being my first time up here and at this resort. I can’t thank everyone enough for such a wonderful experience, all their kindness and love they show everyone is truly amazing.

  Needs to improve on the small details

  I am going to start with what we believe was the best, and it was “customer service.” I don't want to give any names because everyone, without exception, behaved excellently: the waiters, including those who were in training, and of course, the entertainment staff. It was a low season, so not too many people on the beach or in the pool. In general, it is a good hotel, but there are small details that prevent me from giving it a high rating. 1. The air conditioning cools, but makes too much noise when it restarts and when it's on idle you can hear the sound of the units from the other rooms operating, as well as the sound of water running through the pipes. 2. The best food can be found at dinner in the buffet or in the à la carte restaurants. 3. There is not much variety at breakfast or lunch. At breakfast, there is a small variety of foods & if you need to have cereal, there are only 3 kinds: Chocolate Cereal, Froot Loops, and Corn Flakes (for an adults-only hotel, this is a joke). 4. As for the juices, they only have a fruit punch in the morning, since they do not make smoothies with natural fruit and if they do, they do not prepare more than one liter per day. 5. Lastly, I want to say that the use of the safe was free and the mini-fridge only had two cans of 230ml beer, two bottles of Pepsi, and two bottles of water, which only water was replaced daily.

  Overnight stay

  Due to our missing embarkation day, we had to fly to the DR to meet the ship. Thankfully, we were able to stay at the BlueBay. It is a lovely hotel that gives you a plush resort feeling upon entering. The staff was nice. The level of English speaking varied from quite understandable to a few words to get by. My elelmentary level Spanish got us by when needed. The room was clean and more spacious than we were anticipating. The only downside, aside from not being able to fully enjoy the amenities, was the non-potable water. It's the little things we, especially in the US, take for granted. So, be sure you have bottled water to brush your teeth. There is a nice breakfast spread in the mornings. We just grabbed some fruit and juice due to the time constraint. I would love to check the BlueBay out again during a future visit when we have more time.
