  Will NOT be returning!

  We’ve stayed at other Breathless Resorts—especially Breathless Punta Cana, multiple times—and always had an amazing experience. Because of that, we decided to try Breathless Cancun Soul Resort in Mexico. Unfortunately, the difference between the two locations was huge, and not in a good way. Check-In & Room Issues: While the rooms themselves are very nice and ours was clean upon arrival, the process getting there was disappointing. We waited a while for our room to be ready, which was fine, but when we were finally sent to our room, there was someone inside actively doing repairs and painting. We went back to customer service to inform them, and after asking us three separate times if someone was really in there (yes, they were in there as we spoke), they finally switched our room. Not a great first impression. Food Quality: This was the biggest disappointment. The food options were extremely limited, and the quality was far below what we’ve experienced at other Breathless properties. The best food on the entire resort was the Barefoot Grill by the pool—which should not be the case at a property that advertises multiple full-service restaurants. The Italian restaurant was fine, but Picante, the Mexican restaurant, was honestly horrible. The food was bland, lacked seasoning, and the menu felt limited compared to other Breathless resorts. Fish Nets was just as bad. I ordered a NY strip steak which was definitely not a NY strip—mostly fat and barely edible. I ended up ordering Uber Eats because I was starving. Additionally, the Hibachi restaurant required an extra charge, which was never the case at Breathless Punta Cana. This lack of consistency across the brand was disappointing, especially because part of what we loved about Breathless was knowing what to expect in terms of experience and value. Drinks & Bars: Drinks were completely inconsistent. The Wink Bar had great drinks, but the bars downstairs by the pools were terrible. You could order the same drink or the same shot from different bartenders and each one would taste totally different. Many guests, not just us, were looking at each other confused because the drinks were so off. Entertainment: The entertainment was lacking overall. The only truly enjoyable place to hang out was the rooftop pool—great bar staff and a good DJ. Everything else felt boring or mediocre. There were no special parties, no standout events, and the energy just wasn’t there. I understand the resort may focus more on the weekend crowd, but weekday guests are still paying customers and should feel valued. Overall Impression: Sadly, this trip left a bad taste in our mouth when it comes to the Breathless brand. We always loved Breathless Punta Cana, but after this experience at Cancun Soul, we’re seriously considering switching to a different resort brand for next year’s trip.

  worst travel experience

  Our experience at this resort was absolutely unacceptable. When we arrived, someone told us the hotel was oversold. Then another staff member gave us a completely different story, saying there was an issue with the electricity. None of it made sense, especially because they immediately tried to send us to a different resort, even though we were traveling with a group of friends. If you’re considering staying here, don’t. The lack of honesty, the poor treatment, and the complete disregard for guests’ plans and comfort made this one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had.

  Great Resort but they have to take it back to there previous level of amenities

  I love this resort I go every year, however this year they are slacking. The prices are going up and the basic quality of service is declining. To be clear I don’t mean the staff itself. The employees are very hospitable and attentive. I mean the higher ups making these terrible changes involving good/beverage quality and Spa pricing.

  Breathless Cancun Resort was phenomenal. From check in to check out, everyone was great and assisted me when I needed. The atmosphere was wonderful. I recommend this all-inclusive resort to anyone.

  Fantastic Getaway – Great Atmosphere, Staff, and Food

  Here’s a cleaned-up TripAdvisor version you can copy/paste: ⸻ The property is just a short drive from the airport, and we arranged easy transportation through Amstar, which is available everywhere. The hotel feels very safe, with a controlled entry and exit gate. The overall atmosphere is amazing and classy. The value is reasonable seeing it’s all inclusive. Plenty of places to escape to for peace and quiet if you’re looking for that. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Service and staff are excellent—very attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. There’s plenty of great food and lots of fun things to do on the property. There are shows throughout the day and evening, so be sure to check the schedule. We also enjoyed some of the pool parties during the day and at night (note: there is an extra charge for access and cabanas). And yes—the food was absolutely delicious! We did a few off-property excursions, so we didn’t fully maximize everything the hotel offers, but we still packed a lot into our 4½-day stay and finished with a very relaxing last day.
