Terrible Holiday - Honest Review - Returned today
I will highlight all of the hotels bad points first. The buffet food was always cold. If you waited for something to be cooked at breakfast, that was the only chance of hot food and consisted of omelette or pancakes. There was no show cooking at this hotel on the main areas. The hotel is in two sections which are not connected and oddly the evening meal is in a separate building to where the breakfast and lunch are and if like us, you travel when the weather is terrible you risk getting soaked walking to dinner. There is a choice of four small street food outlets, but they are not all open every day (well they weren't mid-October) We did not try these as we were not sure if you had to pay extra for them as it was not clear. There is limited space in the buffet areas and you will queue to wait for a table if you don't get there when they first open. The buffet area is very small. So if you want to look to see what there is on offer you get in the way of people trying to do the same coming from the other way. When you do get seated you can end up eating most of your dinner before the staff come to serve you drinks. We ate at the Oceana bar the last lunchtime we were there. The chicken wings were so dry they could have been left overs from the previous day. We were not sure if we had to pay here but needed something hot to eat as it was raining and chilly. We had a starter and a main, but the waitress seemed to think that was odd? A few hours later my husband was violently sick and that was the end of his holiday as he became very feverish and did not get up until the following morning for our flight home. We didn't have to pay so it was included. All of the bar areas are understaffed and under equipped. We had quite long queues at the bars most of the time. We had disagreements over what drink was included in AI plus, although we had checked in the bar menu, we were served beer in wine glasses, plastic glasses in indoor areas at night when it was raining and clearly you were not going to be around the pool. The staff did not have any logic with the bar area and kept having to go from one side back to another to serve drinks (One bar served indoors one side and outside on the other) The layout just did not work and it seemed that they had run out of their stock of glasses and weren't restocking until next year. The entertainment struggled with the weather while we were there. We had terential rain on three out of five days we stayed. One night there was a good trio of ladies signing, but the tables and chairs are so packed into the music lounge you can't get through to get a drink. We also thought that this may have been made worse due to weather conditions. There was a tiny executive separate space for people paying a little big more to one corner of the music lounge, but from what we could see, other people were going in there who had not paid, so not sure it works. Its not open all of the time either. The rooms were clean enough but ours had a tiny bathroom. The shower door could only be opened if the bathroom door was closed and the toilet was directly behind the door, so you had to negotiate the door to go to the toilet. Two people cannot fit in this space and anyone of a larger build will really struggle with the small space. The room steamed up badly when you showered, there was no extractor fan, so you couldn't shave, put on make up, dry your hair as you couldn't see in the mirrors for ages. Around the shower and sink areas there's very badly finished sealants, this especially shows on the black tiles, which do not go with the style of the room or hotel at all! There are also huge terrible looking weird coloured stickers for decore in the bedroom which was really not needed as they looked awful. There is a lack of useable electric sockets in the room. As I tried to dry my hair in the mirror in the room I had to run the lead across the dressing table area. The lead kept catching my toiletries knocking them on the floor. There were no sockets next to the beds to charge phones and it is a guessing game to get lamps to work in different areas. Outside area and location are not great for elderly or people with walking difficulties. There are uneven paths to the beach and many paths around the streets. This hotel is the far side of Malaluf, but during the day it is very quiet. Palma Nova is a totally different area, much cleaner than Magaluf. We stayed in Palm Nova in July and that was our last holiday before this short break and the reason we returned back to Majorca, but this area and certainly this hotel did not come up to the standards we had in Palma Nova (Palia Tropico). Magaluf isn't nice in October, it may be as they can't be bothered keeping it looking nice at this time of year, the rubbish along the beach is horrible to see too. Overall, this holiday which we booked through Jet2 needs to be reviewed by them as it is nowhere near a 4 star hotel as it is currently rated and we find it hard to believe how some people on Trip Advisor have given it more than that. We are just a normal working couple who need to go to a nice place to relax and switch off, so we are not asking for the world, just a clean, tidy and pleasant stay. Never again at this hotel.

5 nights at the Dream Majorca
Not many positives for the hotel unfortunately. We upgraded our stay to their deluxe package which far as I can tell the only major benefit is that you get to park for free in the hotel and one of the restaurants you get to eat in for free. We arrive on the evening and though we have paid for the deluxe we are told if we want to park our higher car we have to pay 22 euros for the day so we end up spending about 20minutes driving around looking for a space after an already long journey. We then get sent to our room and find though we specifically asked for two beds, there’s only a single double. We ask for a change and told that there isn’t any rooms with twins available but they can make up the sofa bed. One of us spends the rest of our stay on a sofa bed. Already not a great start. The room it self was pleasent enough, spacious, clean and well looked after with the usual amenities you would expect. Bathroom was nice and clean and the shower powerful. All in all a nice room. Next morning we are able to get the car into the hotel car park and go for breakfast. Breakfast was typical buffet style and was ok. Had the usual as you find in most places, food quality was nothing to write home about. Lunch and dinner again buffet style and nothing to write home about. There are a few restaurants that are very reasonably priced nearby and would recommend anyone to try the restaurants outside the hotel. The drinks selection at the hotel is very basic with most of the bottle shelf alcohol. With a wide selection of gin besides that very limited choices. I would still recommend for a cheap and cheerful shirt stay, but imagine there are plenty of better options on the island for the price.

Don’t get the preferred club
Honest Review, we are 2 sisters and our mum. We purchased the All Inclusive Preferred Club as we like a touch of luxury, it was a waste of time I wouldn’t bother! So first we arrived at approximately 10am we was told at reception we will be checked in by the concierge as we have the preferred club, this was done in the VIP lounge for preferred club members only, which is unfortunately a part of the bar where everyone else is? There were a few snacks and small sandwiches and few sweet treats, however some of this was not covered so flies were able to get to it, the drinks very limited and we caught a few people without the preferred club band come in and some with the band come and take all the Coke Zero or all the beers then leave! It also only open 9am-6pm.. our room was not ready which is understandable so they kept our luggage safe while we had a walk around to explore the preferred club benefits which we found a tiny pool but you had to walk uphill to a separate section of the hotel grounds.. nothing exclusive about it! The room was nice and clean, although there were 3 of us there we were only provided 2 cups, 2 chairs, 2 glasses, only minimal tea, coffee and milk! Our bed was also broken, we went down to reception to be told they would have all these things rectified, we got an extra mug and glass and only 1 part of the bed was fixed. We did receive a bottle of bubbly daily being in the preferred club. We also got named drinks (not too sure if there were as didn’t taste like it) .. food was always cool or just about warm, same kind of things each day, but did taste nice just not warm … some staff were lovely some were not! The oceana snack bar was not nice food and was cold lots of flies about too unfortunately. Entertainment was ok, main pool area lovely. We enjoyed Magaluf lots to do and lovely beach bars/restuarants , some guests were loud on an evening. On our checkout we got to keep our bands to use facilities which was good and we wanted to sit in the vip lounge to chill out on the comfy seats and sofas while we waited for our pick up however there is minimal seating so there was no room for us so if it’s busy you can’t use this vip lounge to relax in even though we paid for this! All in all not the worst place I have stayed but not the best either, I personally would stay here again which is a shame as it has so much potential

Poor service and smelly room
The service here is subpar, the rooms feel dirty, and the location is not ideal. The location is in a very commercialized, crowded area (should’ve done more research on Magaluf before coming). The service was not great in general, but specifically our server in the hotel was really rude and demeaning. It seems like a management issue, with inconsistent training and poor communication between different departments. Our room had a strong sewage smell, in addition to small amounts of mold in the shower and a couple of bugs in the bathroom. When we asked about the sewage smell, they told us it was an issue throughout the hotel and they couldn’t do anything about it. I would recommend going somewhere else in Mallorca if it fits in your budget.
