September relaxing break
Just back from an amazing holiday at Dreams. Stayed in a preferred sea view bungalow. This is an amazing hotel and the restaurants and buffet were lovely, something for everyone. The staff are so fantastic and can’t do enough for you ( thanks Ioanna who cleaned our room). The best restaurant we visited was the Seafood grill, where I celebrated my birthday a special thanks to Alex and the staff that made it so special. Thank you to Nicolette who was always on hand to help with any queries we had. We had one small issue with a lunch we had and didn’t enjoy, we were immediately offered something else which was delicious. At our evening meal Jim came to see us to make sure everything was ok, in a hotel this size it was very impressive that he found us and took the time to talk to us. The staff really do care about your experience here. It’s a short walk into Goovia where there are a view bars, restaurants and shops. This hotel has something for everyone, families and couples alike.

Expected more
I am writing this review with 1 day left of my holiday. We arrived at the hotel and were warmly greeted by the reception staff with a welcome drink. The reception area was clean and spacious, and from there we were taken to our room by golf cart—a nice touch. The resort is built on a hillside, so be prepared for a fair number of steps. Our room was a bungalow near the seafront with a lovely view. The inflatable children’s play park in front did spoil the scenery a little, though it’s brilliant for families with kids. The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. As we were celebrating our honeymoon and babymoon, the staff left us a complimentary drink in the room, which was thoughtful, though for such a special occasion we had hoped for a little more. WiFi worked well throughout the resort, which was a plus. The resort has three pools: a lagoon pool, an adults-only pool, and one by the seafront. We only spent half a day at the seafront pool as the food options there were limited and the mosquitos/wasps made it difficult to relax. Most of our time was spent at the adults-only pool, which was quieter, though the constant bass-heavy music became tiring—especially when staff turned up the volume. Poolside food and drink were very limited, mainly two types of pizza and one sandwich option served every day. These were often left out for hours and could be stale. Ice cream was limited to two flavors, which isn’t ideal if traveling with children. The pools themselves looked like they could benefit from a deeper clean, with a green tinge in places, and the water was extremely cold. Since the pools aren’t heated, they aren’t really baby- or child-friendly, and even adults found them hard to enjoy. Food overall was underwhelming. The buffet was repetitive and fairly basic, and after a week we were ready for a change. The à la carte restaurants didn’t offer much variety either—the menus were small and quite similar to one another. Everything was edible but not memorable. The resort has a man-made beach with steps into the sea, though it felt more like a sheltered river than a typical beach. Outside the hotel, the local town is quite run down. There are a handful of restaurants, takeaways, and shops, but none that we felt tempted to try. A couple of tips: bring bug spray, as mosquitos and wasps are a real nuisance. Also, be aware that the swim-up rooms are located directly next to the pool and don’t offer much privacy. On the positive side, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and we didn’t have a single negative experience with them. They were a credit to the resort. Overall, we enjoyed our 7-night stay. It met our basic needs and offered some nice touches, but for a five-star rating, we expected more. The resort does have a Preferred Club option which promises a higher-end experience, but in our opinion, those standards should be reflected throughout as part of a five-star offering. While we had a pleasant stay, based on our experience, we wouldn’t rebook.

Current stay feedback
We are currently staying at Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa and unfortunately our experience has been very disappointing compared to the glowing reviews we read before booking. We have sent two emails to the hotel and received no reply, which in itself feels unacceptable for a 5★ resort. The food has been the biggest let-down - consistently cold, overcooked, and served in a rushed manner. We haven’t had a single meal in the restaurants that we would call enjoyable. The buffet is worse: plates often feel dirty with a soapy residue, and coffee in the mornings is honestly the worst we’ve ever had at a resort. Even the coffee mugs are chipped. We were given an upgrade to a swim-up suite, which at first seemed very generous. However, the pool was attached to the Preferred Club building, which we were not actually allowed to access. We even had to request key access to use the gate entrance/exit of the lounge area where the main building entrance was, which felt ridiculous. It left us feeling like the upgrade was more of a tactic to push us toward paying extra for the Preferred Club rather than a genuine gesture. For the price we’ve paid for 6 nights, this has been far from a luxury, all-inclusive experience. We really wanted to love our stay here, but so far it has fallen well short of expectations. We only hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously, as at the moment we cannot understand how our experience matches the “dreams” the resort advertises.
