Nice Resort and Rooms, Beautiful Location, Gastronomically Unimpressed
This is one of the more modern/well-maintained all inclusive resorts we've visited. It was only built in 2021. We got a great last-minute deal and checked in without a hitch. The check in process took under 10 minutes, which was a relief given sometimes that takes forever at an all inclusive. We were driven to our room with our bags in a golf cart. Every single person who worked there was very welcoming and warm. Everyone said hello to us as we passed on the walking paths. The outdoor buffet/common dining area outside the main lobby is really beautiful and we saw some remarkable sunsets. When the sun goes down, if you choose to eat outside, you'll likely get bitten by mosquitos or the noseeums, which is normal if you're by the water anywhere. Just keep in mind for attire planning. There was one night where the main outdoor dining area was closed off for a wedding. The restaurants are first-come-first serve, and they aren't open every night. You can go over to Secrets for food and drinks if your party is adult-only. We loved the sushi place at Secrets (Gohan) - it was the best food we ate there. We only had the sushi, so I can't speak to the other dishes they offered. We did not get a chance to try the Asian/Mayan fusion place at Dreams. We tried the pizza place - the arancini and pizza were pretty good. The pizza is made outside in an actual pizza oven. There is a Mediterranean place but the menu wasn't really Mediterranean, it had curries and random things listed. We didn't try it this time. Dreams also has a dinner buffet outside (same place as the breakfast and lunch buffets). We ate there for international food night, which was mostly mediocre. There was a shrimp salad that was good, and the Mexican specialties were very good. We ended up ordering room service our first night because we waited over 3 hours to get a seat at Gohan and decided to call it a night. If you really want to eat at a specific restaurant and don't want to fall back on room service or the buffet, get there as soon as they open. The Coco cafe was cute and we enjoyed going there for coffees and pastries in the morning and afternoon. The coffee was excellent, they also have ice cream in the afternoon. The room service was very quick. We ordered it to our room from the lobby phone in Secrets when we decided we weren't going to get a table at Gohan and it got to our room right after we got back. We ordered a cheeseburger, a kids quesadilla, and the chicken breast meal. It was meh. There is also a hotdog and hamburger buffet with chips, guacamole, and queso that gets set up by the pool every day. Honestly though, the burgers weren't good. They are obviously pre-frozen patties and have a strange texture and taste. But the guacamole was excellent. Breakfast had a lot of options and the best were the hand made Mexican dishes. They also had a ton of fruit, yogurt, granolas, pancakes, waffles, eggs, toast, French toast (very good), and a cheese/salmon/cold cuts bar. The drinks were very good and strong too. I often go to resorts and feel like everything has been so watered down, but this wasn't the case. I cannot emphasize how nice all the servers and bartenders were. I watched some super inebriated women tumble (literally onto the ground) out of a bar and there were employees helping them stand up and walk to their rooms. The loungers on the beach were very comfortable and there were many servers walking up and down the beach getting orders. This is a much smaller resort than some of the other ones we've stayed in and we prefer it. It's quieter and more relaxing. There was a fire show one night, and a movie night on the beach another time. The only thing left to be desired was the food. There was a lot of food that was very solid and decent, but there wasn't a wow factor. I found myself eating steamed broccoli and mussels with salad, which isn't bad, but it lacked flavor. If we could eat at Gohan every single night, that would have sufficed but it's not open every day. On one hand, I didn't overeat on my vacation which is good. But on the other hand, I left gastronomically unimpressed. The room was in great shape, felt clean, and they even leave a branded beach bag for you on the bed. All in all, we will be visiting again, the fact that you can go over to Secrets for dinner made a big difference. We just might go eat a few dinners in the city instead.

Nice week long getaway
My husband and I stayed at this resort for a week the last week of September and first part of October. The resort is beautiful, the service is amazing. Every single staff person was extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Our room was gorgeous. The A/C was cold, the shower was hot and it was the most comfortable hotel bed I ever slept on. The room was cleaned every single day, our mini fridge was stocked with our favorite sodas and we got Pringles and peanut M&M’s everyday. The beach is beautiful. It’s rocky, but the water is clear, crystal blue. The pool is clean and quiet. The pool bar was closed for maintenance during our stay. The reason I couldn’t give this resort 5 stars is the food. The lack of choices of where to eat, the lack of variety of foods and the unsanitary conditions the food is served in. The only buffet on this resort is an outdoor dining area. The flies, gnats and mosquitoes flying around, landing on and dying on the laid out food is just disgusting. I don’t blame the staff, I blame the owners of the resort. There is no reason, the resort should not have an indoor area for the buffet since it’s the only restaurant open daily for all meals. There is an area to eat inside away from the flying insects, but no place to cook, store or serve the food. The other two sit down restaurants are open on a rotating schedule. If you don’t care for Italian or Mediterranean food, you are out of luck. Room service is and was available. We used room service a lot. Our room phone didn’t work so we had to walk to the lobby to call for room service, but it was available. If you don’t have children, you can walk over to their sister resort, Secrets, and eat at their restaurants. Just check to see if they are open since they operate on a rotating schedule also. If you ask, someone will drive you over to the other resort in a golf cart. Unfortunately, the golf cart path was under construction and the golf cart dropped you off about half way there and we had to walk through the closed portion of another resort to get to the restaurants. There is a path along the beach that you can walk over to the other resort. You might have problems if you have mobility issues and/or children since it is an adult only resort. I enjoyed my trip but due to the issues with the food and food service, I would not return again. Again, I will give a shout out to the hotel staff. They were amazing. Our room was spectacular and spotless. The beach was beautiful.

Wonderful Vacation
We recently returned from a 7 day stay at Dreams Cozumel. We were in room 3423 and had no problems. The AC in the room was very efficient, we had nice, hot water, the bed was so comfortable, our refrigerator was kept stocked with plenty to drink. The Housekeeping staff kept us plenty of fresh towels and washcloths. The Breakfast Buffet at the World Cafe was delicious. Kristel, the hostess, was so sweet and always remembered our name and where we liked to sit. Julio, our waiter, kept our coffee cups filled and was so attentive. We had a very enjoyable vacation and I would definitely go back again!
