Honest review- Family trip with mix impressions
We spent a week at this resort for a family getaway (from Sep 23 to 30-2025). While it’s often promoted as a 5-star destination, I’d rate it closer to 4 stars. It was enjoyable overall, but a few areas didn’t quite meet the premium expectations. Pros: * Stunning beach: Clear water, no seaweed or rocks—perfect for swimming and lounging. * Friendly staff: Always smiling and greeting guests, which made the atmosphere warm and welcoming. * Spacious room: We upgraded to the Preferred Club and had a large, clean room with comfy beds and a well-stocked fridge. * Clean resort: The property was well-maintained throughout our stay. * Good food: Specialty restaurants were a highlight. No reservations needed for à la carte dining, though men must wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for the French restaurant. * Nightly entertainment: Shows were fun and well-produced. * Daily activities: There was a variety of options for all ages—from beach games and water aerobics to cooking demos and dance lessons. It kept things lively without being overwhelming. * Relaxing music: Background and live music throughout the resort was pleasant and unobtrusive, creating a calm and relaxing vibe. * Preferred Club perks: Quiet section across the road with a small restaurant, whirlpool pool, and a reserved beach area with palapas for guaranteed shade. Cons: * Service pace: Slower than what you might expect in the U.S. or Canada. * Buffet variety: The main buffet was smaller than other resorts, though additional restaurants offered buffet-style meals. While the selection wasn’t vast, it was diverse enough to satisfy most tastes. You won't go hungry. * For seafood lovers: Don’t expect an abundance of options at the buffet. Shrimp was rarely available, and lobster wasn’t included unless you paid an extra $50 USD for a lobster tail. While the specialty restaurants offered some tasty dishes, the lack of premium seafood was a bit disappointing for a resort marketed as 5-star. * Butler service: Ours was average, but we didn’t rely on him much. Some guests think it's worth it to upgrade but we don't Despite a few shortcomings, we had a great time thanks to the company we kept. The resort delivered a pleasant experience, but it didn’t quite live up to its 5-star label. If we return, we’ll skip the Preferred Club upgrade and if there is a promotion—we’d rather pay 4-star prices for a 4-star experience.

Dreams Dominicus
We really enjoyed the Dreams Dominicus Resort. Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. It's a very small resort so there really isn't much walking. It was very clean and the staff worked hard to keep it that way.

Holiday in DR
When arriving at hotel I thought I was going to have a dream holiday. Rooms are spacious and very clean . Maids do an excellent job . On the first morning went to the conference centre to have breakfast. Well reminded me of school dinners. Nothing was hot . So decided not to have anything from the buffet. Waiter asked would I like a fresh omelette made . Which of course I was happy to have . Asked for no onions ( as other two in group wanted) but obviously got it wrong and came back with onions . The beach is gorgeous and always plenty of sunbeds. The animation team are very friendly and are a credit to hotel . The coffee shop staff are great especially the one lad who’s always smiling. But by day three I had come down with some serious stomach problems and couldn’t leave the room for two days . My husband informed Tui and hotel and were told it’s an isolated incident, The rest of my week I had to be not far from a toilet. Three out of the four of us traveled became ill. I do feel it’s such a shame as it could be a 5 star hotel . But the food I feel lets it down . I have returned home and have had to take the week off as my stomach issues are not resolved.

Enjoyable stay
We had an enjoyable stay as repeat guests (5th time). Shout out to Esther, beach concierge, Julia, beach waitress, Brahian, waiter at Seaside Grill, Daniel - dancer, Raffael, waiter at Italian, Gasolina - entertainment, Pearl - preferred club, Anais front desk, Crisila, preferred club reception. The property is getting older and needs an investment in a better maintenance team. Hope to see some improvements next time we go there. We love to see this property at its best, as it has an amazing location and a great potential.

A week in Paradise, everthing was good in Dreams Dominicus.
Our experience was great in Dreams Dominicus, our room was great and cleaning every day, the facilities are good despite the buffet was in 2 places because the main building are being repaired. The staff is friendly especially Gasolina ( Ai Ai Ai ) on the animation staff and José Miguel from the reception. The food is good and with some variety and the beach is beautifull. Thanks for all.
