Mixed feelings
This was our second stay at a Dream resort in the Dominican Republic, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. We specifically requested a swim-up room with afternoon sun; however, the orientation was poor, leaving the pool cold and unusable. Additionally, the rooms were "walled in" by bushes, meaning we couldn't access the bar area without walking back through the room. We had hoped to use the pool while the children napped, but we didn't use it at all. Customer service was inconsistent. While some staff were great, others were quite dismissive. During dinner, servers would often pour water once and never return. Some hostesses even seemed annoyed when we requested outdoor seating. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi was erratic with many dead zones around the pools. This was a major issue for us, as we couldn't rely on our Wi-Fi monitor to watch our sleeping toddlers. While the evening shows were high quality, they were unnecessarily loud, which made the experience less enjoyable. Finally, out of nine trips to the Caribbean, this was the first time my entire family of six fell ill. We met another group where 26 out of 30 people were sick. Management denied any widespread issues, blaming our "digestive tracts," but having stayed in Punta Cana before without issue, I found that explanation hard to accept. We were given a kettle to clean our baby bottles with boiling water. The first one they gave us was filled with disgusting mold. I didn't pay attention when I filled it with bottled water and washed a bottle... unfortunatly, my daugther puked 5 times that night... The Beach was awesome. No sargassium and much better than in Punta Cana. The best golden hours I've seen in a while. Rooms are clean. Noise level depends on location (obviously). Our Preffered Concierge really tried his best to accomodate us and was friendly. Would I recommend? Not in this actual state. I'd go back if they could fix the small, but irritating issues. Until then, we'll go to Dreams La Romana instead of Dominicus.

Not a 5* experience yet
Family trip, preferred status and extra room upgrade. WHAT I LIKED: - Beach is nice, calm water good for kids, plenty of lounges - same goes for the pool. Very good kids club. - Preferred upgrade definitely a must - for access to the reserved beach area, and beach restaurant. - Choice of restaurants is excellent, and the Grill is exceptional. WHAT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: - Preferred rooms are very far away from the beach, and you have to wait 10min for a cart/gold buggy or walk with 2 kids for 15min in scorching sun. This needs fixing, as it goes the opposite way of ‘upgrade’. - More investments in food hygene. All 4 of us got sick. Having gone straight to the resort from our British Airways flight, and stayed at the hotel the whole time, we likely contracted it there. It could be the buffet, where food is left on the open for long. It could be the water or ice in the drinks, or food handling procedures… who knows, but worth the effort of improvements across the board. It’s bad for me (having spent $1k/day for the accommodation and upgrade) and for business (in the other 3 days i was not sick my wine spending at the Seaside Grill restaurant was $400, and spa $200).

Great Vacation .... Definitely Recommend
Great Family Vacation, pool and beach were perfect. Activities team did an excellent job coordinating activities for all to participate. Beach volleyball was excellent, and the waitresses and bar tenders pool side were always fast and friendly. The rooms were clean, maid service daily, fully stocked mini fridge, very happy. Many reviews knock the food, but while we found many options to be fantastic, yes their were a couple underwhelming, but still plenty of options for the week. We visited February 13-20, never had longer than a 10 min wait for any restaurant. I think you will be very

Entertainment Team
This is the most energetic and professional entertainment team. My friend taught Zumba here and the support they gave her was amazing! I want to give a special shout out to Esteban, Maria, Juliana, Darling and Earnesto. They really make you feel at home like family! Love them. Will definitely come back here.

Highly Recommend this Resort
We celebrated a wedding at the resort. It was magnificent. The whole resort is beautiful. The beach was spectacular. There are lots of pools for quiet time and a big family friendly pool with swim up bar if that is what you are looking for. A special mention to Francesco "de la Spa". He was very friendly and always took the time to chat with us as we were walking by. Overall, very good experience. One of the best "buffet dining" we have ever been too. It was also nice that we didn't have to pre-book the a la carte restaurants. Highly recommend the Seafood Grill. Best steak ever eaten in the DR.
