Jan 24, 2026Beach much nicer in Bayahibe...unless you enjoy Sargassum weed :[
This beach is top notch. The Dreams Dominicus (Bayahibe) has nice soft sand, fairly clear water, a few waves but not rough water. The beach is not wide (water to chairs), but is clear and soft. To the left and right, as one hikes the beach, there are some areas with rocks, including in front of some of the other adjacent resorts. This Dreams (CAUTION: there is another Dreams closer to La Romana and I was confused for a while), is all sand until the adjacent shops which cascade right down to the water line (east/south of resort). BEST of ALL--NO SARGASSO WEED. We went to Bavaro right after Dreams (trying two areas in one vacation), and I was really disappointed in the beach. After Bayahibe area, the Bavaro/Punta Cana beach was frankly a little ugly by comparison. And, there are many of boats anchored in front of some Bavaro areas; I saw no boats in front of Dreams.

Generally a very nice if not smallish resort. Lovely pool area. Restaurants were generally very good and have a no reservation required policy which was really good. Got a bit of a hard sell on check-in which left a bad taste in the mouth as it wasn't actually made very clear and we were tired/hungry from traveling. This aside it was a great 10 days with a lovely pool, nice beach, friendly staff, great food and a very comfortable bed. Enjoyed the sailing (Hobie cat) and the tiny man-made reef for snorkeling.

Amazing resort in the best beach on the plannet
Excellent experience. The best all inclusive resort I have been to, especially in recent years. The beach is unbeatable. The best ocean and sand. The preferred club had plenty of shade. The food in this resort is a bit smaller selection but better quality overall. Also the presentation of food was so beautiful. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. I can't wait to be back.

Excellent family vacation!
We loved our experience at Dreams Dominicus La Romana. Always something to eat at the buffet restaurants and the a la carte restaurants were excellent with no wait times. Our room was very clean and the mini fridge was topped up daily. All staff were excellent! The pools were very nice but the beach was exceptional! We upgraded to preferred and enjoyed the preferred beach area and additional dining options but i think the experience would have been just as great without the upgrade! The bayahibe area is now a favorite vacation dedicating for us!

Pristine resort, beautiful beach.
Beautiful resort, beautiful beach and fantastic sunsets! We booked a king bed swim up room and we had our own private plunge pool where most of the other 2 Queen beds you were sharing your pool with your neighbours. lots of plunge pools that stretched from one end of resort to the other. Perfect for the days of rough sea water. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Although our group of 8, 7 of us got sick for at least 1 or 2 days of our vacation but couldn’t pin point what the cause was. They accommodate food allergies but recommend getting a letter stating allergies in Spanish! Most evenings around the dinner hour there were vendors that set up their crafts and jewelry. I found them polite but pretty pushy for a sale. On the beach there were only one or two ladies that were selling hair braids so that was nice because they weren’t in your face every few minutes.
- AdvisoryStudent Groups (Spring Breakers) are not permitted at Hotel. A student group consist of those that travel without parent supervision or a responsible adult in each room.
