We came to Dreams Onyx for our first family vacation and it was amazing. Randy and Sandry at the beach bar and cabanas made our trip so memorable. They set our family up with a wonderful cabana experience which included amazing food, drinks, and top notch service. They went above and beyond providing the best service and experience we have ever had at any resort. We would 100% recommend going down to the beach bar and cabanas to experience everyday with them as it was the highlight of our trip.

Best 50th Birthday Celebration at The Mix Swim Up Bar at the JungleWaterPark.
Our overall trip to Dreams Onyx was amazing! I was celebrating my 50th birthday and once Anthony from The Mix at the Jungle WaterPark heard about that, he made every day special for my daughter and me. He was her favorite staff member from the whole trip and told everyone at the resort to see him. We also had great customer service from Miguel, Uirmer and Oscar. Anthony and that team at The Mix swim up bar made our celebration so special. They are a great representation of the resort and just how amazing the people of the DR is! We will definitely come back to see them!

Friendly helpful staff made my family feel welcome. The food and drinks were amazing, and endless! Would highly recommend this resort to anyone considering going.

Some of the workers here were absolutely horrendous. Just because it’s an all inclusive resort does not mean you can’t season your food. Would not recommend if you want to enjoy your vacation. If you want drinks, good luck! Also the kids staying at this resort were racist??? If you want directions, I assure you the staff will point you in 5 different directions. Regardless of age, bring that PHYSICAL ID because they will be carding you at the ripe age of 25 - even if you look of age and have tattoos.

Meh. I preface this review with the fact that this is our fifth time to the Dominican and our third resort. We loved both previous resorts. We were preferred members and paid a premium for better accommodations. We had called ahead to request not to be in the building looking out in construction. We had two rooms. One ended up looking out on the noisy construction next door which we had requested to not look out on. Contrary to their claims, construction did continue from 7am - well after 5pm. The access road which was adjoining had trucks full of seaweed coming and going all hours including into the night. When we asked to be moved they offered to move on room…into another building, which would separate our family. This resort is understaffed at their bars and deferred maintenance is everywhere. Sargassum is bad, which is not the resort’s fault. Very few people on the beach because of it and going into the ocean with brown sarcasm all over is less than desirable. Tractors go up and down the beach day and night picking it up but it’s certainly not the calming experience you are paying for. Inside of rooms is fine but there are stains on couches and I had to clean the film from windows looking outside as I’m not sure when they were last cleaned. Again, just meh leaving me disappointed. We would not return to this resort.
