Aug 07, 2025Excellent property / Fantastic Entertainment Team
The Dreams Riviera Cancun resort is definitely somewhere I would visit again. The property was amazing. Very well maintained in every aspect. The only bad thing was the Sargassus Seaweed. It absolutely prevented us from enjoying the beach at all. We were unable to traverse the mounds of seaweed to get to the ocean. There are Great options for dining. There are options for all kinds of tastes. I would be absolutely remiss if I didn't take the time to recognize the Entertainment Team at this resort. They were nothing short of AMAZING. Jonathan, Uzzy and Angie (and the rest) were the highlight of our trip. They went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. They made sure to know our names and every morning when we went to the pool, they made it a point to come over and say hello and update us on all of the activities for the day. In particular, Jonathan was a standout. He was friendly and engaging. Jonathan would come over and speak with our group numerous times throughout the day. He spent more than just a few minutes talking with us. He took the time to get to know us and shared a lot of information about himself as well. I was more than pleasantly surprised by this young man. He is definitely an asset to the Entertainment Team. Jonathan is definitely the type of employee that enhances the experience of everyone there. At the end of the week, he even presented our group with a small memento to remember our trip as well as his friendship.

Family-Friendly and Luxury combined with a GREAT TEAM!
This is my family's fourth time going to the Dreams Riviera Cancun resort and I can say with full honesty that this place is great. This trip was for 15 people. Each time I've been there I felt like the most recent stay continues to top the previous times (where were all fantastic). The rooms were clean, housekeeping was great and timely. We had multiple rooms and a few were "Preferred Club". I highly recommend getting the "Preferred Club" rooms. You get access to a nice Lounge, but even more importantly you get access to an amazing concierge team! Itzel and Maria were a great team, who helped coordinate dinner reservations and Bali Beds/Cabanas for my family and I. Jessica B went above and beyond! Talk about making you feel like you're the most important person... In addition to restaurant reservations and coordinating activities for my family, Jessica B went out of her way to help with odd items that I needed that I forgot back home. She was always professional, courteous, and respectful. My family and I were so grateful for her and her team's personalization of our stay there. The whole team was excellent including but not limited to Elizabeth, the young lady who worked at the hotel check-in area was very friendly and patient with our large reservation. Bellhop Manuel was extremely helpful as well. He was very helpful during my previous stay as well. Very professional and very friendly. The Team at Dreams Riviera Cancun is what made our trip so memorable. Thank you to such a great team!

Our family loves Dreams!
From the moment we checked in, we were treated with the utmost respect and consideration. We were able to check in early to our room with a plunge pool—my kids loved that even more than all the big pools! The restaurants were great with the exception of El Patio—that Mexican was horrible. We loved Hitmasu, Oceanside, Portobello, and Coco Cafe! The arcade was awesome. Hector Hugo working in there was so great with my son. My son came out saying how cool he was. He was incredibly kind and accommodating. We loved kids club. My kids did not want to leave when I went to pick them up. The night shows were a blast! Especially the magic show! We loved the size of this Dreams location—it was such a fun little community for my kids to explore for the week. Thank you to everyone at Dreams!

Aug 06, 2025Not what we were expecting for a family trip
The kids club was at capacity for several activities and days. In our experience, we have never been turned away at kids club. The kids said they were not watched at tye kids club, we are used to great staff who welcomes, watches, & loves our kids. Bartenders were not as friendly as in our past experiences. The concierge was not able to help with anything and there was an obvious disconnect between staff members. The Asian restaurant was closed and the only indoor restaurants at the warmest time of year were 2. We ate at one restaurant 4 of our 7 nights. Food was ok. Activities were lacking and not easy to find out about. Only 2 of 7 shows were inside at a theater and the quality of the shows was lacking compared to other experiences at other resorts. When we checked out, we were told we owed $107, but we're charged over $400. Communication breakdowns were obvious.

If you’re looking for good food, drinks, fast and friendly service and fun activities and entertainment, then you’re looking at the wrong resort. Go elsewhere. No one expects Michelin star food and drinks at an all inclusive resort, that’s not my standard. I was looking for passable. I would have given it a ten if the food and drinks were passable. But it wasn’t. And if you’re hungry and want room service, good luck. There were more staff than I would have liked that made me feel I was asking too much of them (even when they were there to take my order) which is not ideal at an all inclusive resort. It wasn’t everybody, but more than three or four, and that’s three or four too many. Entertainment/activities are run of the mill.
