Another great stay - already planning our next trip!
Just returned after another wonderful week at El Cid. As with our first trip in April, everything was perfect. The staff, the facilities, and the food were excellent. We were upgraded to a one bedroom, ocean view suite and it was the best room ever. Great AC, shower, bed, and balcony. All of the wait staff were helpful and attentive. Want to give a special shout-out to Armando, the bell boy, who was so helpful and friendly, always greeting us with a smile.

La Ceiba; Fix the beach safety entrance!
Fourth year in a row to go there. Booked all inclusive four day dive package. Upgraded to a suite when there and the suite is very nice. But their regular rooms are fine also. They have a newer dining room so if the insects get bad during dinner, the air conditioned dining room is opened. The only real complaint is that the hotel just will not put a stair step type entrance/exit from the pier. This is really a safety issue. Going in the water from the beach type entrance can be dangerous if there is any surge or waves. I have no doubt that guests have been injured and tossed around when using that entrance. I have seen that first hand. As a diver it is not easy at times to use that entrance. Going in from the pier with a stair step entrance would solve that problem completely for swimmers, snorkelers, and divers. I have discussed this issue three times with the hotel manager, but nothing has been done. Maybe the head corporation just does not want to spend any money. But comparing the cost of the two newer elevators, new dining room and other constructions, that cost would be a very minimal. In other words, they are ignoring a safety fix and and anyone going there should voice their concern. Concerning the dive operation, this time the shop's dive boat was out of order and I was put on another dive operations boat. But it was okay. would I go a fifth year in a row? Fixing the above problem would probably have to happen first.

Such a wonderful experience for a day pass while cruising!
Highly recommend this resort for a day pass while in Port on a cruise. Walking distance outside port. Safe, beautiful, and clean amenities and changing areas. Looking forward to our next visit!
