  Beautiful hotel with exceptional service

  My twin sister and I stayed July 31 - August 4rth. I booked the Ambassador suite so we had access to the lounge. The service in the lounge was outstanding. Santos and Jacinto were very friendly and always very attentive. Carlos at the front desk was kind and helpful. Hotel is clean and spacious. All staff provided excellent service. Rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable.

  Downtown Santo Domingo Hotel with class

  This is a hotel with a lot of class & elegance. It’s the little things like the piano player nightly behind the grand playing nightly. 2nd time staying here during a business trip to the capital. Stayed on the 5th floor Ambassador level with a concierge lounge that has free non alcoholic drinks & snacks / small ordeurves with a balcony & great view of the Caribbean Sea. Rooms are modern, spacious & have all creature comforts. They are showing a little bit of wear & tear & could use a touch up which is why it’s 4 out of 5 stars. Also love the thousands of light green parrots that roost here nightly (enjoy the video)…you also don’t hear them much as the windows are well insulated. Paid base room rate $102.50 + $20 for concierge, which I recommend, total $122.50 per night. FYI Value Added Taxes are +18% on top of that.

  My Mother's 80th birthday celebration!

  My stay at the hotel was pleasant and comfortable. The room was clean, and the bed linen was very soft and confortable, which made for a restful night. Check-in was smooth, and Rafael at the front desk stood out for his diligence and helpfulness, he not only made the process welcoming but also followed up promptly on a repair request I submitted. The staff, in general, were friendly and attentive, adding a personal touch to the service. However, there was a minor issue during breakfast when one of the hosts spent about 30 minutes trying to sort out how many meals were included for our six rooms, which was a bit frustrating and disrupted the start of our day. Despite this hiccup, the overall experience was positive. This was my 6th time staying at El Embajador and I would consider staying here again.

  I usually don’t write reviews, but I feel this one truly deserves it. I stayed here at the beginning of July for three nights and had a great experience. The Senator rooms are fantastic — the furniture is high quality, everything is spotless, and I’m very picky about bathrooms, so I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-maintained they were. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the room itself was just perfect. The food and breakfast are also amazing — super tasty with plenty of variety. After spending two disappointing weeks at another hotel in Punta Cana, it was such a relief to come back to Santo Domingo and stay here again for one more night before my flight. It was honestly great to finish my trip in a place with delicious food, comfortable rooms, and great value for money. The hotel pool is top-notch: long, deep, and perfect for a good swim. The gym is small but cozy, with brand-new machines — ideal if you just want to get a workout in during your stay. The only downside was the service at the lobby bar. The staff there weren’t very friendly, and it took us about 30 minutes just to get a hot chocolate. One of the servers even dropped a piece of cake and still gave it to us, which was disappointing — but to be fair, the hot chocolate was amazing! Overall, I would 100% recommend this hotel. It’s a great place to stay in Santo Domingo — excellent rooms, amazing food, fantastic value, and a beautiful pool. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in town!
