  Fabulous hotel

  A fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean; very friendly staff; good location (5 minutes walk from Fira) ; rooms were comfortable and spacious and the design of the hotel is lovely. Gym space is good; there is a spa ;breakfast was excellent and lots of choice. We visited in October - warm sun and pool was still swimable (after an initial shock). There was a pool bar which served cocktails and food which you could choose to take to your sun lounger or eat at the poolside table. Lots of lovely places to eat in Fira (it is not cheap though!) Hotel was perfect for a couples stay but we would happily take our children there and think it would be great for them too.

  Great hotel perfect location

  Perfect location just 10/15 minute walk to the centre of Fira with all it's shops, restaurants, bars, water taxis & cable car. The top pool by the main bar & restaurant, and the second pool were always busy but there are multiple pools and as we went in September we could always find a spot around one of the others. There is also another day bar & breakfast room/ lunch veranda by the bottom pool near the spa. The staff were excellent, particularly the restaurant/bar manager. We went half board and there was always a plentiful supply of food to suit everyone. The hotel was very clean & well maintained. The rooms were light & airy with a fridge. The view of Fira from our Hotel room was lovely especially at night. The water is not drinkable so stock up on bottles to make your tea & coffee in the room. Although you can go to Fira or Oia for the sunset there is an amazing sunset view opposite the front entrance to the hotel and you can see the sunrise from the bottom pool area too. An excellent hotel - we have already booked again for next year.

  Nice location and clean, but exorbitant hotel tax

  Currently here for a week. On arrival you are met by reception stating that 70 euros must be paid immediately for hotel and you get a free bottle of water but don’t ask for more! Hmm.. Great start. We had a beautiful large room however it was right by the road so noisy as it is quite busy. Rooms cleaned daily by a lovely friendly lady. We were bed and breakfast only and the usual chaos in the restaurant in the morning. Hot food wasn’t hot. Had one meal in the evening but it wasn’t great so went into town which is not too far away. We hired a car as excursions were so costly. Don’t expect any live music here at all, it is really only suitable as a base. Also lots of steps and cobblestones . Wanted to use spa but there is only an unheated pool which you are not allowed to use unless you book treatments.

  Large hotel just outside Fira

  The hotel is very spacious & set out over a large area with 4/5 swimming pools ( freezing in Oct) The rooms are roomy but I wouldn’t class them as 4* & the breakfast is definitely not!! The reception staff & buggy drivers were lovely & helpful. The location is a winner.

  Fabulous hotel & really close to Fira centre

  Fabulous relaxing weeks holiday! We stayed at the El Greco for a week from 05th October. We booked via Jet2Holidays & they were great from start to finish. We celebrated our anniversary at the hotel & they had left us a lovely note & bottle of bubbles in the room for our arrival. We had a gorgeous room, room 322, we had a lovely main pool view and were close to all the amenities. Pool towels are provided & you can refresh these as frequently as required. There are numerous pools around the complex. We had no issue with getting sun-beds at anytime of the day. We stayed on half board basis. Breakfast options were great, choices of all you could require from cereals, fruit, continental options or cooked breakfasts & cake of the day. We used the gym each morning, it had lots of equipment. Our room was cleaned everyday along with fresh towels & bedding. We needed a few extra hangers which the hotel brought immediately. The hotel pillows were very soft, compared to what we’re used to, we asked for bamboo pillows & the maid brought them. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Evening meals were varied with fish, meats, veggies, salads, rice & dessert choices. Cocktails in the pool side bar were lovely. I’d recommend the affogato martini! It was delicious. We’d defo stay here again as lovely hotel & under ten mins walk into the centre of Fira. Fira is really beautiful! Couple of recommendations from what we enjoyed:- the Volkan open cinema showing of Mamma Mia & the hike from Fira to Oia. The bus service is really easy to use too & most places are only a couple of euros away. Dont hesitate to book, you’d not be disappointed.
