    Most disappointing resort room ever

    Booked a 2 queen bed room with patio or balcony and requested an ocean view for my client to celebrate her son’s high school graduation graduation and 18th birthday and she got a room with a view of a ugly roof top. Terrible. Hotel would not provide a different room unless they paid another $61 per night plus tax. Not a 5 star hotel more like a 2 or 3 with a 5 star price. Will NEVER book again for any other clients. What a ripoff!

    Not the Fairmont I’m use to

    I wish I would have read reviews prior to booking but I trusted the Fairmont name and I will never make that mistake again. The property was filled with ferrel cats and those cats go to the bathroom outside and mix that with the PR humidity — smelly! There were cats lying on clothes that I had drying outside, that’s not only gross but I’m allergic. The pool was closed on the first evening for unknown reason but when I asked for a refund on my resort fee, I was told there were other amenities that could be used. The hammock outside my room was broken and I did let the staff know of all this and I received an AI response apologizing but nothing really being rectified. The property just seemed old and not to the standard of other Fairmont’s I’ve stayed at in the past. I think I could have been happier at a Hilton or Holiday Inn because at least it would have been less expensive. On the positive, the staff was nice, the room was clean and the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport.

    Ok experience

    Pros: + great location + beautiful hotel + comfortable rooms + great amenities Cons: - despite the Fairmont brand, this is a 4-star hotel at best - swimming pool is more like jungle gym. They have an adults-only pool but it was full of kids (don't get me wrong, I love kids. But if they set the expectation that there is an area that is for adults only, they should stay true to their promise) - we rented a cabana one day but they didn't allow us to have an umbrella (it's more important to look pretty than to protect guests' skins from the hot sun). Eventually we were able to swap cabanas with another couple who didn't want the umbrella but were not allowed to close it. - New Year's Eve at the restaurant felt like Fyre Festival 2. It took close to an hour to have a waiter take our order. This is not their server fault. It seems to me it was just really bad planning on the hotel side. Will I go back to San Juan? Definitely yes. Will I stay at the Fairmont? Not sure (not a hard no, but not an automatic yes either)

    Pool Day

    Spend a day on this beautiful property. Clean, modern and trendy. Special shootout to pool employees and servers. Daniel Rodriguez, Jean Carlos (this guy was awesome), Amanda L., Gareliz, Javiazeth and Tryshia. They treat me like a VIP. Thank you guys for your beautiful services.

    Our Fantastic Stay at the Fairmount ESJH !!

    Sorry it took long to write this.. My wife Maria and I were just at the Fairmount this past April and the stay was magnificent in ever way. I begin with Jimmy and Robert at the front door.. very helpful, very friendly and with lots of tips as to were to go for lunch and dinner (other than the Hotel restaurants) and other helpful hints. The front desk was also very friendly, helpful, very accommodating, and all around very professional. Room service was spot on.. (we usually let them know that our room was ready to be serviced, and they were there in no time !! No delays, ... they left us plenty of towels, a very clean room and bathroom everyday !! The Concierge Desk was outstanding in their guidance and suggestions. Special thanks to others... At the main floor bars ... Bartenders Yosuei (sorry for the misspelling) and Luis were amazing !! Yosuei made making my Vodka Martinis (a somewhat simple drink to make) into a work of art... not just in how he created them with his very fancy pouring technics but well balanced in their taste! Luis was also fantastic in his own way and both added very good tips in touring and dinner suggestions. Take their suggestions.. you wont regret it ! Lastly, thank you to Laura Perez at the Main Pool.. she was a mind reader !! My wife and I were always attended in a speedy manner, accuracy in what we were drinking and just a very polite, friendly person to talk to everyday! Overall, a great place to stay.. impeccable service... outstanding staff, great night life within the hotel itself, beautiful grounds and pools, and at least for us, so easy and quick to get to from New York. We are certainly going back soon and hope that all those great people we met are still there to welcome us again. Thank you. :-)
