Only thing better than the view? The people!

My partner and I had our wedding at GCBC. What appealed to us about Grand Case as an area is it's authenticity - charming and intimate - and not one of these over-developed, ubiquitous resort communities that could be anywhere. There is a sense of "place" here. GCBC is just slighting off the main strip which is a good thing, so you can get away from the activity and just decompress a bit. And it is worth it, because the view from the newly renovated "rock" area is the best in Grand Case and just stunning. We've stayed at some of the other boutique hotels there, and though we enjoyed ourselves, but it can get loud right on the strip. But where the hotel really excels is the hospitality. No where in the world have I experienced such warmth and generosity in any hotel/restaurant experience. I like to consider myself a world traveler, and a 20 year vet in the hospitality industry. The staff there went above and beyond my expectations - especially for the complex requirements that my partner and I asked for our wedding. Heck, even some of the service staff met us out after the wedding at a local bar to buy us a drink to say congratulations and took photos for us for the after party. That is whole hearted and sincere. The food at the hotel was well-valued and really over-delivered (which is a rarity for many hotels). Though there are some world class restaurants on this strip, you will not be sorry staying at the hotel for an easy meal. But what really blew me away was the food for the wedding. It is a challenge to execute that kind of quality at that scale. Again, I worked for multiple James Beard chefs, and this is not easy to do. All in all, I will never forget the time I had in SXM, especially in Grand Case, but even more so, because of the people at Grand Case Beach Club. Of course, I will always remember my week because it was our wedding, but rarely does that not include mentioning the people there who made it so special at GCBC. Because, in the end, that's all that matters - the people.

    Excellent Stay

We had a wonderful stay and recommend Grand Case Beach Club! Our one bedroom, like most units, was yards from the water. We loved being on the ground floor because of the large lanai and proximity to the water (though there was some noise from the family above). All appliances worked in the well-stocked kitchen, and we appreciated the provided drinks and snacks. The room was very clean. Air conditioning and hot water were perfect. The bed was comfortable, though a selection of different pillow sizes would have been nice. The on-site restaurant was excellent, and the pool was clean and well-maintained. The club is a close drive, ride, or walk to numerous restaurants in Grand Case. The only “cons” were that the unit’s bathroom was a bit small and dated, which didn’t really matter to us. In addition, the club’s pre-check in process asked if we would like restaurant recommendations. We indicated “yes” but never received any recommendations.

    Maureen is RUDE!

Pros: This hotel has a relaxing vibe. Sunset cafe staff are very pleasant. Delicious food with a view. Cons: The new Sunset cafe has more flies since the renovations. It's annoying to have flies around when you're eating. Cons: Maureen Hodge is the most disrespectful front desk worker at the beach club. If you see her, do yourself a favor and ask for someone else to help you. She has noooo manners and is not courteous to paying customers. This hotel is not cheap. For a 9.4 star hotel I didn't think I would be getting 2 star treatment. Maureen is not helpful and doesn't take nothing seriously. She doesn't know anything or appears to be incompetent; you're better off talking to an iguana. Every day is Maureens first day on the job. You ask her a question and she gives you attitude, cuts you off when you're speaking or ask you what she's supposed to do. Her attitude stinks so much so that she is the hot topic among other guests, outsiders, and I wouldn't be surprised if her co-workers are fed up of her attitude too. I think Maureen forgot she works in the hospitalty industry. Honestly, I blame management for this. They are aware of her disgusting attitude and yet she's the first face you see at the front desk. They need to put her around the back or have her do something that doesn't require interacting with people such as maintenance or pulling garbage. Honestly, she brings down the hotels reputation. Cons:Management is not proactive in addressing concerns. All they do is have the management team reply back to the hotel reviews and pretend they care when they really don't. Such a waste of time. You will get the run around.

Best staff and sunsets in Grand Case

This really is a great place to stay. The atmosphere is relaxed and yet everything is organised to perfection. Our room was basic but spotless and thoughtfully designed with a lovely garden view. We didn’t take advantage of our outside area because of mosquitoes but can’t blame the hotel for that. With the Moonrise Bar and Soleil Cafe to choose from, with spectacular views of the sea and amazing sunsets, we were not deprived. The restaurant serves above average food and what sets it apart is the lovely staff. Lola was our waitress and she was very friendly and super attentive. We loved the bar staff who introduced us to ‘Mauresque avec Ricard’ and the beach staff were seriously hard working. There is a great evening shuttle service which allowed us to also visit the lovely nearby restaurants but you really could get away with not leaving the beach club. I can see why people make this an annual trip.

A hidden gem with rockstar staff — GCBC sets the bar for island hospitality

Grand Case Beach Club has always been our go-to in St. Martin, and it just keeps getting better. The recent upgrades have polished the place into a modern Caribbean jewel, while keeping the charm that first drew us there. But let’s be real — what makes GCBC truly unforgettable is the people. Marina and her team — Stelio, Thea, Marine and the unsung heroes in the kitchen and back of house — bring their A-game every day. Their warmth, attention to detail and genuine care make you feel less like a guest and more like a welcome part of their community. Same goes for the housekeeping crew. It’s the kind of thoughtful service you can’t fake. What’s special about GCBC is how deeply it’s woven into the fabric of Grand Case. You get the sense that the staff isn’t just working here — they live here, they love it and they’re proud to show it off. That kind of local pride is rare, and it makes a difference you can feel. We’ve fallen for this place and this town, and we’re already counting down the days until we return to the Friendly Island.
