Oct 31, 2025Lot of Limitations and Confusion
As first time all-inclusive travelers maybe we set our expectations too high.. is this normal? We get tot he hotel and our room is not ready, no problem they say they'll let me know when it is ready should be about an hour. I go to the desk two hours later and am given a room bracelet/number. The room smells like it's been wet for days, the mirror is rusted, bugs smashed to the wall, there is no dresser and it has two full size beds (we reserved a king) which could not be changed. The food situation was frustrating, only able to eat during specific times, no room service, and the same food is served everywhere every day unless you get a dinner reservation. Many restaurants in the complex are either not included or were closed for the duration of our trip making the options slim. Even if the spot was open it is unlikely you'll get a reservation unless you make it at least four days in advance. We were told the ports bar served food 24/7 this is not the case, they closed between 10am and 12pm (when all other restaurants are also closed) don't expect to eat between 10:30 and 1pm if you stay here. I did not know there were included classes or activities until the second to last day and only found out by speaking with another visitor. Spent a a lot of the time here feeling frustrated and confused instead of relaxing in paradise.

We stayed for 10 nights as a family of 4 with 2 young children. Brilliant hotel with excellent facilities. Room sizes are great! We loved the a-la carte options - i do feel when White Sands becomes select and Kantenah loses the use of these facilities, it will be a great shame. Food in the main restaurants can be repetitive so definitely recommend trying to book the a-la cartes. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Recommend the snorkeling trip to Cozumel from the hotel beach, I lost count of how many turtles we saw! Would love to come back in the future.

Overall the experience was great at this hotel. Everyone from the staff to the guests at the resort were great. All the waiting staff at the bars, pool side to the restaurants and shuttle drivers were exceptional.

Please don’t go here. I have travelled extensively in Mexico and this is by far the worst resort ever. The rooms are nice . It ends there . The staff don’t speak and don’t attempt to speak English. The food is horrible. Many people were sick from it. Just spend your hard earned money elsewhere . The resort is also massive.

Beautiful resort
Big beautiful clean resort needing transport to get around if u have mobility issues, occasionally had to wait quite a while for arrival. Food excellent in buffets & restaurants lots of choice for pescatarians as we are Rooms dated, not always cleaned properly, but this didn’t affect our holiday Beach disappointing not the usual powdery Caribbean setting, a little walk out to get to an area deep enough to swim in. Swimming pools outstanding, very picturesque and clean. Endless supply of drinks while relaxing on sun-beds Lots of wildlife around to observe Good tours offered from the dive centre Amazing service and care received from Javier the Bell Boy
