Wonderful Honeymoon!
This review is from my daughter who just spent her honeymoon here. "My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Grand Palladium for our Honeymoon! It was very relaxing, we didn’t have anywhere to be or anything we had to do. The resort had a few assorted classes every day that you could attend at your leisure. I wished there were more classes and adventure options to choose from, but if you just want to relax by the pool or beach and be left alone with your drink, this is the place to be. My husband wasn't a fan of needing reservations to go to dinner every night, but I didn’t mind. I wished there was a non-buffet breakfast option that was included with the stay, but we made do. The a la carte restaurants were so good that we wanted to enjoy them multiple times, but since they are only open for dinner, we were only able to enjoy each once. Fernando, our concierge at Building 13 was amazing and so helpful! Our favorite servers were Armando & David at Sumptouri, Angel at Isla Blanca, Gabriel the pool Bartender & Carlos the pool server! Our room was INCREDIBLE, we had a loft room overlooking the resort and it worked our so nicely being pretty much equal distance from everything. The shows in the evening were so enjoyable! The performers danced their hearts out and got the people going! My favorite show was the Mexican show and my husband loved the International Show. The recreation classes were great, the tequila tastings and cocktail classes were our favorites. Leonardo & Josue were great! We had a wonderful honeymoon and a great experience at this resort and would come back with friends in the future!

AVERAGE
You need more variety on the menu. More variety for breakfast and lunch. Menu was the same every day.

Stunning resort
We have just got back from our 10 day stay at this hotel and I felt I needed to leave a review as before our stay I was concerned after reading the reviews on here. This was my 4th time visiting Mexico - the 3 other hotels I stayed at were a lot more expensive than this one and I can honestly say we had the best holiday. This resort is stunning. The resort itself is beautiful and well kept. A lot of people have said on here that it's a big resort which it is, but it's not as big as it's made out on here. There are carts that you can jump on which will take you wherever you want to go, we only struggled to get one of these once due to there being a wedding on so they were limited. You can also get on a boat which will also take you where you need to go which we loved! We stayed in block 15 which we found was in the perfect spot as we could walk to everything and it wasn't too far. SERVICE We found the service to be fantastic, we never had a bad experience. All staff are lovely, happy and friendly. The staff at the Fizz Pool/Pizza Stop were great and they were always making sure our cups were full! The service on the beach was fairly slow as people mentioned but I think this could be down to bigger groups from weddings being on the beach constantly ordering rounds of drinks which didn't help. There was one day a large group sat in front of us with a speaker on (which is actually stated on the app isn't allowed) so we moved further down the beach it didn't really bother us too much. Server Miguel was the best on the beach! FOOD & BARS We went to 2 bars whilst we were here which were the Aqua Bar (this was our favourite as it was on the water and also the Eclipse Bar, this was nice as you could see the sun set and the drinks were also really good. The food is good. I have seen a lot of reviews from people saying they had a funny tummy from the food which neither of us experienced. We loved the Mexican, the teppanyaki was great and we enjoyed the Indian. I can't say we were ever 'wowed' by a meal we had other than on the last night in the Mexican restaurant, our waitress Maria was fantastic and recommended several dishes off the menu. In terms of breakfast - there is so much choice. Lunch could be better as we prefer a la carte rather than buffet but the pizza shop at the Fizz Pool was amazing, we had this most days! *We reserved a table every night - don't bother with the app it says there is no availability when there is, go to the front desk in the lobby or your concierge to make the reservations. ROOMS The rooms are lovely and spacious. We never had issues getting towels like others have mentioned and the mini bar was always stocked with water, fizzy drinks, beers and crisps! I will agree with people when they say the bedding had marks on and the room felt moist with a slight smell. I think this could be down to when the rooms are cleaned as we came back one afternoon when it was being cleaned and it was very steamy, again it didn't bother us too much. The one downside we found to the rooms was the noise when people were coming back in the early hours - the doors slam so loud! We also on 2 occasions had to speak to neighbouring rooms as they were very loud. POOL & BEACH One thing I will say about this resort is I never struggled to find a sunbed. You don't feel the pressure of having to get there early to secure one. The Fizz Pool was our favourite (I personally think this should be an adults only pool) it's only small but 90% of the time was very quiet and peaceful and as mentioned the service was fantastic. The Beach is gorgeous, I saw a lot of photos when I got home from different hotels and also spoke to somebody on the plane home who said they couldn't go on the beach due to the high level of seaweed, there was non here! My partner loves the beach and it's an important part of the decision making when choosing a hotel! And he absolutely loved it. Only downside was slow service and bar not actually being on the beach but we just got up and got our drinks ourselves. ENTERTAINMENT My partner is big into entertainment on holiday and unfortunately he was disappointed with the entertainment here but I must say it's great for families. One thing you MUST do is the CHIC Caberet, it's fantastic. You get a 7 course meal (the food is gorgeous) service fantastic and your drinks are constantly topped up, the show is fantastic. This was our favourite night at the hotel. Overall if you are thinking of staying at this hotel, go for it. It's a large hotel with a lot of people staying here, you are bound to get some bad reviews - I am very very fussy as well! We met 2 couples at the resort who said they will both be booking again for next year. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The crew makes all the difference!
The staff at the resort makes all the difference. Of course there are grumpy ones but the cheerful ones brightened our days. Staff on the honour roll are: Miquel Cunu and Esperanza at the Xtra Time Sports Bar. You have got to ask Miquel to tailor-make a drink for you. He calls it the Miquel Special. Raul and Yuli at the Mexican Restaurant La Adelita. Chef Fernando is such a young talent. Food there is delicioso and service is top-notch. Mario brought us a zero percent alcohol Heineken when my husband said he had enough alcohol after his beer at El Dorado. Such a thoughtful guy. The sea bass at Portofino was cooked to perfection. Great panattoni, Chef Nicholas! Gasper took great care of us. The resort has fun activities. Again, the staff makes all the difference. Chef Rafael, Leo and Evelyn at the guacamole class. Super fun and yummy. Rueben at the Archery lessons. He is such a sunshine boy and un maestro estupendo. He also runs the Pool bike class that gives a new meaning to the number 3. The resort itself has room for improvement. Overall, management is very disorganized. Staff are not well trained or misinformed due to poor communication. This leaves guests running around digging for the most up-to-date information. A lot of errors found on info on resort app. Extremely frustrating for guests to plan out their day, not to mention the wasted time running around.
