  Returning Guest

  I am a returning guest at this resort. My last trip was during their renovations and we were still able to enjoy our stay to a certain extent. Despite the renovations, they were able to continue certain services even though the activities were limited. The gym was in a smaller space during the renovations but they still offered one or two classes. Ricardo is an excellent instructor and fitness professional. He is extremely kind and knowledgeable. I've taken a number of his classes and they are always amazing. He ensures an excellent and safe experience for all guests. His classes are thoughtful and he keeps everybody engaged. The staff are always friendly, but Ricardo stands out as he has very genuine energy and is extremely considerate. These qualities are far and few to find. Thank you very much Ricardo for the top quality service. We hope to see you again when we return. The buffet was fine, food selection wasn't as big but no complaints, everybody was able to find something they liked. Due to the renovations, the activities were limited as the staffing seemed low, which is understandable. Looking forward to returning to see the completed renovations! We missed the fitness space, the open space in the back of the gym was my favourite.

  Not asking for upgrades just what we paid for

  Resort is good, servers in restaurant and housekeeping excellent. Front desk not interested in good customer service. We booked two bed x 2 rooms as I am accompanying a senior couple that requires support due to medical condition, both seniors have mobility issues. Requested two months prior to arrival ground floor rooms near each other. Was given one ground level, second room one king bed 2nd floor!! We reluctantly accepted 2nd floor room waited until after 12am for single second bed to be brought to room. Was told we would be accommodated following day. Moved to ground level two doors down from seniors, into room with only one bed again! Was told resort is full no rooms available. After accepting second night in room that is not suitable. Management customer service team came to room to discuss situation, assuring us they would rectify situation. Go about your evening they would leave us note under our door after discussion with front desk. Went to dinner came back to room, still only one bed, when called multiple times front desk would not respond to calls. Waiting since 3pm, now 830pm for second bed to be brought to room. Been to resort 5 times, clearly repeat business not a priority. Only day two of 7, extremely disappointed

  Excellent trip

  Review Check in was quick except we weren’t informed how many ala cartes we were allowed we ended up with 2 double beds instead of the king I booked.The room was clean however it did lack plug outlets for all our electronics. Our nexus representative (Aldoph) fixed this problem with our room but it took 2 days no compensation was made for the inconvenience The concierge noticed us sitting in the lobby he helped us get in our new room early he also called later that evening to check that we were happy with the new room. Apparently it doesn’t matter what you book you get what is available at the time of checking in. The new king room was clean has an extra set of outlets we ended up taking the coffee machine out on the deck to make coffee the coffee packs are inconsistent of what they supply not the hotels fault that would be the supplier however still taking the coffee machine outside as I don’t think plugging it in beside the bed or on the floor is a good idea the fellow who cleaned our room didn’t like us taking the machine outside he pulled the cabinet out that held the tv and plugged it in . Swimout was excellent even in the rain. The buffet is average not great food but not bad because of the renovations going on there are only 2 Ala Cartes open. We had Italian which was excellent we had the chicken parminson and shrimp fettuccine service was top notch. The steak house we had Caesar salad to start which was missing the dressing I ordered the jack chicken which turned out to be chicken legs I don’t eat dark meat(totally my fault I should have asked)my husband ordered rib burger which he totally enjoy. They opened up the Mexican which was a huge disappointment no chicken fajita on the menu no chicken option at all I ordered a beef barrack which was shredded beef on a soggy tortilla which was plain lacked flavour my husband had the shrimp/fish taco he said it was great. Check out was fast and easy. Can’t stress how great the staff are Roberto and Delfina from the lower buffet always knew what we wanted Yolanda from the bar lobby excellent memory. Bernie was one of our excellent shuttle drivers. We will definitely return the staff are what make the resort.

  Glad we choose this place.

  The hotel has excellent food and with the new upgrades trough out the buildings it’s looking better. They also have night shows that really are worth seeing. One of them is Bailes Urbanos and those dancers kept all audience excited. Great performance!

  Not as good as 2 years ago

  PROS Met a trolley driver Johnny (Johnathon ) who MADE our trip. He was a very Happy, cheerful employee and always willing to help by picking us up anytime we needed him. Property was well taken care off. Rooms were clean Lots of food in buffet. CONS As a second time guest we never received any upgrades even though we asked unless you can call $20 off per person per night on a $140 per night per person upgrade. Most of the ala carte restaurants were closed Had a problem getting reservations for the 4 of us at more than 2 restaurants. Corona beer was too expensive so Modelo was the prevalent beer. Corona was available at select locations only. Entertainment was very little and it was outside where there was lots of mosquitoes! Not like 2 years ago, where the entertainment was held inside in an air conditioned bar. 2 years ago the shows were amazing . The beach was full of seaweed ( no fault of the hotel ) however we could not go to the beach ( our choice ). Mexico All excursions and resorts have an Environmental Fee associated with it. Usually $20.00 per person in US$.
