  Outstanding Family Vacation at Grand Velas – Exceptional Service & Unforgettable Experience

  We stayed at Grand Velas for one week, and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. The staff go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels attended to, which truly makes the stay phenomenal. This was our first time in Mexico, and the hospitality began even before we arrived. Karla Lizárraga from the sales team proactively reached out to coordinate our transportation from the airport to the resort. Thanks to Karla, the process was smooth and stress-free, including a quick and pleasant check-in upon arrival. Our main contact at the resort was Perla Rodríguez, who welcomed us warmly and provided a thorough overview of the resort’s amenities, activities, and dining options. Perla also helped us secure dinner reservations at the exclusive restaurants for every night of our stay—something that can be difficult to get last minute. We dined at Frida (Mexican), Sen Lin (Asian fusion), and Lucca (Italian), and every meal was absolutely amazing—both in flavor and presentation. For more casual dining, the Azul buffet was excellent, offering a variety of options and staffed by people who were consistently thoughtful and attentive. As vegetarians, we found more than enough delicious choices available throughout the week. A special shoutout goes to Audrey, one of the hosts at the restaurants, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. She made each visit feel personal and memorable. The Kids Club was another highlight of our stay. It offers a full day of engaging activities for children aged 4–12, and we could drop off and pick up our kids as needed. This flexibility gave us time to relax and enjoy the resort as a couple. The Kids Club is currently run by five amazing ladies—Cecilia, Alison, Alondra, Galilea, and Camila—who are calm, patient, and exceptionally kind. Their care and attention made us feel completely at ease leaving our children in their hands. Each morning, Perla sent us a PDF with the day’s schedule of adult and kids’ activities, which helped us plan each day with ease. With the all-inclusive setup, food and drinks were always available, and we especially enjoyed the coffee bar, which stayed open most of the day. The pool and beach areas were beautiful, clean, and well-staffed—perfect for relaxing. In short, Grand Velas is a truly outstanding resort—ideal for unwinding, enjoying luxury dining, and spending quality time as a couple or family. Huge thanks to Perla, Karla, host Audrey, and all the incredible staff who made our trip unforgettable. A special mention to the wonderful ladies at the Kids Club—you all made this trip not just enjoyable, but exceptional. Thank you!

  Disappointed by Service at an Otherwise Beautiful Resort

  I recently stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit for 6 nights and unfortunately, the service did not live up to the resort’s luxury reputation. One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of clear communication regarding the specialty restaurant schedule. We had planned to dine at the Italian restaurant on our last night, only to find out it was closed. Apparently, the restaurants operate on a rotating schedule, but our concierge, Ramón, never informed us of this. There was also no mention of this when we checked in or during our stay. The lack of transparency really disrupted our plans and left a poor final impression. Midway through the trip, I needed toilet paper in our suite and contacted both the front desk and concierge. Shockingly, it took over two hours to receive it, and I had to go to the lobby restroom in the meantime. Even after that, housekeeping never replenished the rolls that were nearly empty, so we kept running into the same issue throughout the stay. Something so basic shouldn't be an issue at a resort of this level. The buffet at Azul was underwhelming. The food was average at best, and service was inconsistent. One morning I ordered chilaquiles à la carte after the server kindly offered the option, but the kitchen staff seemed visibly annoyed and the dish itself was disappointing—bland, poorly prepared, and certainly not what I'd expect from a resort in Mexico. While the resort grounds and amenities are beautiful, the service issues really stood out and detracted from the overall experience. For the price and the brand, I expected more.

  Excellent Birthday Stay

  I celebrated my birthday on 5/6th of June and wanted to mention that everyone from Check-in Jose our Suite Concierge to all staff at Lucca Piaf Azul Suite Service Gym and Pool were outstanding. Velas continues to maintain its position as truly a standard of excellence and value. Thank you for a memorable stay we will be back. David and Maru

  Home away from home

  We love Grand Velas brand overall. We have been multiple times to different locations and it's always amazing. Reviews and photos won't justify the experience, you HAVE to visit. Service and hospitality are beyond! Starting with our concierge Luis, who always have everything arrange regrades if we are with kids or just with my wife and to the amazing team through the entire resort. Nino and Francisco always will have drinks ready for you at the pool and Eduardo will have the best spot for you daily. Jose the pool captain and Zenon always will have fresh plates for snacks by the pool and Davids cocktails at Koi bar are beyound. See you soon guys Salute! Kris & Sam - Vegas

  Water sports

  5 of 5, highly recommend water pro Carlos, he does surfing and board, kayak, comer at the beach, very kids friendly, my son had a great time in the water with him. He’s patient, nice and kind. Easy communication, we’ll be back for the whole service.
