I'm sharing my review that I emailed directly to Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit - Having been to Grand Velas properties 6 times now - 2 times in Cancun and 4 times in Puerto Vallarta, it's really disappointing to the level of service in which I was provided and how I was treated as a 6 time customer. In our room, we had a couch that had corduroy fabric, which was really noticeable with the fact that I had to sleep on it. The reason I had to sleep on it is that our air conditioner didn't work and I was sweating and both my sons were sweating profusely. We requested maintenance, and what they did was push a few buttons and said give it time. Same issue happened the next day after being in the sun all day. When I made it back to the room, the actual temperature inside the room was hotter than outside. Called maintenance again, he came in and said in 5 minutes he'll be back. I texted my concierge asking for help - it was his day off and heard nothing from him. I walked to the concierge desk and they said maintenance was coming back. ...maintenance went back to my room and said nothing could be done. At that point I advised the concierge via text (with no response), that I'm either checking out of the hotel or I get a different room. I went back to the concierge and they said we'll put you in another room immediately. At that point, we moved from 121 to 115. This is what bothers me - The entire suite was upgraded, significantly. Bathroom, bed, couch, table. 121 room had the actual outside furniture by the coffee shop and a broken chair. The snap of a finger, you can send me to a room that was nice, from the basically an afterthought room. How would you feel, knowing that the place is 50% capacity (pool was empty), and somewhere you're staying for the 6th time they treat you like this? Never again. My family doesn't deserve this. What I considered an impressive facility, we get the one room that's essentially storage? Not sure what we did to deserve that, but the message is loud and clear. The entire poolside staff, Raymundo getting the extra gold stars. They're really attentive and engaging. And considering we spend 90% of the time awake at the pool and outside, the people at the pool really are important. The wait staff in Azul. Same as above. You know, one thing that has to be referenced is that our concierge mentioned that "maybe" one of the reasons that they didn't have us on record as repeat customers is because we use a travel agent. To imply, or actually state directly, that because we use an agency is why we get substandard rooms - I believe whoever we use should be made aware of this as well. So they can know that their customers are treated as a lower quality guest than those that go straight to them. Only reason we even use a "package" is for flight discounts. But being first class in the airlines, first class is first class. No one else seems to treat the customer differently, but that appears to be the case with Grand Velas Nayarit. Food is decent. Lucca is the highlight. Lunch at Azul. Kind of wish there were different options at lunch, but no biggie. Room 121 did not receive housekeeping the first night, and the 2nd night they came at 9:30 pm, and my kids were sleeping. The minibar was not filled for the first 2 nights either. The leg of a patio chair (but used as the room table's chair) was broken, never replaced.

A Resort Home Away From Home
A perfect experience to recharge and relax. This is our sixth visit to this wonderful resort and we will continue tor return. A genuinely nice and considerate staff that makes you feel welcome and at home. We see the same amazing people every year so it speaks very highly of the GM, Pilar, and her management team. So nice to stay at a property that is not owned by a major hotel chain. The difference is definitely felt !

Great resort - very clean and wonderful staff!
We’ve traveled a lot as a family and our time at Grand Velas was one of the best. The entire property is very clean and so well maintained. Our family of 4 stayed in an ocean view room with 2 queens. It was extra spacious compared to other standard double rooms. On top of the accommodations, the service and people at GV are so kind and helpful. Our kids loved the kids club and had fun with the staff there. The service from the bellman to the welcome concierge to the fitness center attendant was top notch. Our personal concierge, Perla, is the best of the best. We called her our resort whisperer because she would appear at the pool out of nowhere when we were looking for lounge chairs on the walkie getting chairs set up for us. I was able to text her through what’s app anytime with questions or to move our dinner reservations. She really made our experience that much better. We’ve told all our friends about our experience and hope to come back with them one day. 10/10 recommended GV!

Grand Velas the epitome of a luxury resort
Grand Velas is the epitome of a luxury resort! Our stay was more than what we expected. Every single person that works at the resort , is amazing. We felt like royalty during our stay. Every single staff is there to help with anything and everything you need. You are assigned a personal concierge during your stay , Perla was ours and she was exceptional. She helped us with making changes to our dinner reservations, checked on us every day just to make sure we were doing well, helped us with transportation and answered any questions we had. She was just a pleasure to work with during our stay. All the amenities within the resort are amazing and I have to talk about all of the restaurants within the resort! They are all amazing, great food, great drinks, and the service, WOW, chefs kiss!

Relaxing fun in the sun
Overall We enjoyed our 5th stay at this hotel! Food was good to excellent, the hotel has been well maintained, all the staff was helpful and friendly - it was great to see so many staff members again. The renovated room was spacious and well laid out. There were a couple of issues but they were cleared up efficiently and effectively by staff and management once the error was discovered. Of special note we would like to thank Pablo at Azul, Nadia/Gilberto/Lionel and the pool Captin Edwardo F, Carlos at the beach and the service staff at Piaf.
