Named to commemorate the wreck of the Sea Venture and the establishment of a colony in Bermuda, our new dramatic harbourside dining experience, 1609 Bar & Restaurant, offers uninterrupted harbour views and open air dining.
The menu features a variety of items from ceviche and pizza to burgers, sandwiches, and salads as well as a variety of seasonally inspired entrées. A carefully crafted cocktail menu offers Bermuda classics such as the Rum Swizzle and Dark & Stormy, as well as island-inspired libations including the Passion Fruit Mojito, 1609 Frozen Rum Punch, and White Peach and Tropical Red pitchers of Sangria.

Open daily, this restaurant offers casual all-day dining and late-night bar and grill with lively entertainment, and an exceptional rum selection. Crown & Anchor Bar, Restaurant, and Terrace is Bermuda’s newest “must visit venue” offering everything from a reserved afternoon tea to relaxing after work drinks. At the bar a fine selection of cognac, wine, and champagne by the glass await. Give in to the island favorite Bermuda Rum Swizzle, a delicious mix of local Gosling's Black Seal Rum, and tropical juices or our or the signature C&A Cocktail, which can be enjoyed on the new outdoor seating area, set in the beautifully landscaped gardens, overlooking the new Marina. - Marcus’ by Marcus Samuelsson
Like the hotel around it, Marcus’ is a visually striking affair, arrayed with modern art from the hotel’s owners, including original pieces by Andy Warhol, Liu Ye and Nelson Mandela amongst others. The signature restaurant occupies the former Gazebo Room, once a grand ballroom, offering a central bar and views of the ocean. An open kitchen with a wood burning grill located opposite is a show all in its own, with chefs creating Samuelsson’s specialty dishes.
A preview of menu items includes Oysters with Black Rum Mignonette, Salmon on the Grill, Jerk Pork Belly, and a tantalizing Whole Fried Chicken for Two. Additional dishes pay tribute to Bermudian culture, such as Grilled Bermuda Onion and Fish Chowder Bites among others. The restaurant features a full beverage menu with signature and classic cocktails, a well-rounded selection of wine and beer, and a new spin on a local favorite, ginger beer-based Darker and Stormier.

Unexpected Surprise! Every Course 10/10
Alright, for full transparency: I’m a born-and-raised Bermudian that doesn’t enjoy dining out in Bermuda. Why? Because too often I hand over my hard-earned dollars only to receive a mediocre meal. And I’m here to say my meal at Hamilton Princess’s Crown & Anchor this past weekend wasn’t the case AT ALL! After a hard week I wanted to take my wife on a date night and we chose Crown & Anchor and I’m so glad we did! Every course was an experience. Course One: Crispy Calamari We started with the crispy calamari cooked so well I didn’t need any of the side dressings it was amazing all own it’s own. Crunchy, golden rings of joy. Course Two: The Angus Burger of My Dreams Next up: the Angus Burger. Listen, I was expecting "meh" and got "WOW." The bun? Toasted just right. The patty? Properly seasoned (not just drowned in sauce like most places trying to hide their sins). Cooked exactly how I ordered it—medium, bless their souls. It was actually about 8oz as it said, thick, juicy, and beautifully plated. The fries? Let’s just say I accidentally ate more than one serving. Crispy, salty, addictive. No regrets. Dessert I thought it couldn’t get any better but we had the dessert. Now they had cheesecake with fruit on it which I think is blasphemy so I asked for it plain and they accommodated. Guys! The cheesecake size was great and taste even better. Sweet, thick and full of flavor with and wonderful crust. I slowly melted into every last bite. Sad when it was finished. Every. Single. Course. Was. A. 10/10. By the end of the night, my wife and I were seriously debating whether we should come back next weekend—and that never happens. I mean, who am I? So to the chefs at Crown & Anchor: bravo. Seriously. If you keep this up, you might actually turn me into someone who likes dining out. Stranger things have happened.

Amazing Stay 20/10
Our experience at the Hamilton Princess was truly exceptional. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to assist. Grace @ Crown & Anchor: Grace was outstanding—always smiling and ensuring our group was well taken care of. We built a wonderful connection with her, and she makes the best cappuccino we have ever had. It quickly became our morning ritual. Sam @ The Pool: Sam was our dedicated server during our time at the pool. Each day, he introduced us to the specials and went out of his way to make us feel valued and welcomed. His service showed us that hospitality at the pool can be just as remarkable as in fine restaurants. Olga @ 1609: Olga provided us with an authentic Hamilton experience, enriched by her thoughtful touch of engaging with us in Spanish. This personal connection made us feel part of a shared community and added something truly special to our visit. Christian & Hannah @ Intrepid: Our experience was very interactive and helpful. We also had the pleasure of engaging with Christian the captain and Hannah the host. The service and atmosphere were so outstanding that we returned for dinner a second time.

Excellent Stay On Fairmont Gold
This was our 9th trip to Bermuda, the 3rd staying at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. This was our 2nd time staying on the Gold Floor at this hotel. Our experience this time was much improved over our last stay, primarily because of the excellent service provided by Rolly, Pascoal, Malisa, and Vitoria. Beautiful view from our hotel room balcony, peaceful pool experience, excellent dining options. Bermuda residents are welcoming. We will be back.
