Amazing!
Wow! Everyone here is so nice and helpful. The food was amazing and our accommodations were fantastic. We upgraded to an ocean view room and it was worth it. We came off season so the pools were not crowded, but still well maintained. We highly recommend Haven Riviera and if we could give more than 5 stars we would.

Amazing stay and service
We recently came back from a 7 day trip to Haven Riviera. I just have to say it was amazing! We went with 2 other couples and had such a good time! The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was excellent and there was so much to do in the evenings! Ernesto was our waiter at the party pool and he always kept our favorite drinks filled. We never waited very long for anything we asked for and he gave us suggestions when we asked for them. I also celebrated my birthday while we were there and Ernesto remembered me saying it a few days earlier and he made sure to bring us some delicious shots to enjoy! I would 100% recommend this resort and make sure to search for Ernesto at the party pool! The entertainment at night and during the day was also really fun. We participated in several games at the pool that they arrange and played pool volleyball that they have twice a day (and often just leave the net up if people want to continue to play). The night shows were very entertaining and varied. We always got to the theater/bar early so we never had a problem getting a seat. The restaurants were easy to book through the app, but I know that it would probably be difficult for older couples. My in laws were with us and we always booked the restaurants for the whole group so they wouldn’t have to deal with it. I also loved how everything was scheduled in the app so you could easily look to see what activities they had planned throughout the day and where they were located. The rooms were kept clean and stocked throughout our stay and when our in laws needed maintenance help everything was fixed quickly.

Nice hotel, but not 5*
This isn’t our first time in Mexico but our first time at Haven so I can only compare it to the other hotels we’ve been fortunate enough to stay at. We travelled from the UK to celebrate an anniversary and were in a pretty normal room (non- serenity). The room was pretty big and the bed super comfortable so no complaints there at all. We had a “partial sea view” and if I stood on my tip toes I could just about see it 🤣 My only real issue with the room was the fact that I didn’t feel the air con was that potent (more on that later) and perversely, we couldn’t turn the fan down at any point. The first thing you’ll notice about the hotel is how attractive it is and it’s got quite an upmarket feel to it which is nice. The issue being however, the lobby area is all open which means it’s hot. Very hot!!! There are fans at check in / lobby bar but on my opinion they aren’t doing much at all and it took us a few days to acclimatise to this. Bars and restaurants are okay. Nothing special. Genuinely surprised at anyone who says the food is amazing because it isn’t - it’s acceptable but if you’re looking for real 5* dining you’ll be disappointed. We tried all of the restaurants available to us and the best by far was Satsu - especially the teppinyaki. The food was cooked fresh and was hot which was lovely. A theme of other restaurants was that the food wasn’t especially hot! I had high hopes for the steak restaurant and the starters were delicious. However, the ribeye steak was absolutely not what you’d expect from a ribeye 🤣 really thin and tough. Room service was pretty standard. A couple of mix ups here and there with dishes not arriving but all in all, fine. Limes bar is nice, especially if you sit outside at sunset as you’ve got a really good view of it. The bar staff in there were also pretty good and knew what a pornstar martini was which was excellent! The other bars didn’t have a clue so I guess it depends on who you get as there’s a bit of lack of consistency throughout. One thing in bars that we found really annoying was the fascination in serving drinks in plastic glasses in the evening (ie not near the pool!, and the fact that all the soft drinks are served from a large 2lr bottle rather than from a gun…so it’s all pretty flat! Not sure how that’s cost effective either. The entertainment is so so. Michael Jackson show was very good but the magician show was…interesting. The entertainment staff work really hard and do their absolute best, but the hotel could really do with a nice bar with a bit of atmosphere in the evening. The pools are lovely and I found them to be pretty clean. We spent most of our time around the lovely pool but this was just out of habit, the other pool was also fab with a much calmer vibe. The biggest plus of this hotel are the staff. The pool severs especially work so hard and are very polite. We always tipped and found we definitely got better service. All in all, we agreed this was a really nice 4* hotel rather than a 5*. If you’re British and you’re used to holidaying in the med you’ll find this hotel to be fairly spectacular, but my 5* Mexico standards I think it falls a little short and compared to other hotels at the same price point (the Hilton next door for example), we probably wouldn’t return.

Enjoyed our stay
Traveled as a couple from Sep 13 to Sep 18, 2025. Celebrated my husband's 60th bday. Pros: - Wonderful staff and service. All staff were very attentive, kind, and professional. - Booked a swim out room. Again, very attentive staff, they surprised us with a happy birthday banner on the door and a mini chocolate cake in the living room. A waiter would walk up to our patio from time to time and offered drinks . Excellent service! - The room was spacious, modern, functional and was kept clean. Housekeeping was great with both morning and turndown service every day. The mini bar was stocked daily with Nespresso coffee pods, water, beer, pop, and munchies. - The buffet was good. I particularly enjoyed the "live" grilling station, which offered chicken, beef, pork, salmon, white fish, lobster tail, and calamari. If you are passionate about cooking, you can make yourself a restaurant equivalent meal or even better. - A la carte restaurants had delicious food. We did not try the Italian Again, buffet was great, Olios had a beautiful ambiance and food (small portions), the Japanese was tasty and the food was delicious, both the Tepanyaki show and the regular menu. The Mexican steakhouse, Agua Mendita was mediocre, not because of the flavor, which was great, but because of the size of the meat cut. My husband ordered a ribeye, which looked like a thin shave of a regular ribeye steak. Like a minute steak. I ordered picana, which is a kind of a Brazilian steak. That was a regular cut, and thickness was appropriate. - Entertainment at the main pool was good, and so was the bar service. - The room service was good. We booked a trip with Amstar, a company that offers excursions out of the resort lobby. Because of the early morning pick-up, we were advised to pre-order breakfast and we did. Breakfast was delivered promptly. - Amstar. A professional and trustworthy company that offers activities and transportation to the resort and back. Don't fall for the so called authorized taxies at the airport. They are dishonest and will charge you excessively. We paid $150 for a 15-minute ride to the resort. We arranged for shuttle back to the airport for $18 per person. Cons: - Huge con is the beach, and it has been noted by many reviewers. However, it's been somewhat downplayed. I have read the reviews prior to traveling and understood there was a lot of seaweed, many reviewers attempted to excuse the resort by saying it is not their fault. While this is true, without even attempting to come up with solutions, the seaweed phenomena is so bad it leaves the beach covered in tons and tons of seaweed with plastic garbage tangled in it. The trucks deployed can't simply keep up with the seaweed. So, if you are traveling to at least enjoy looking at the blue Carribean sea regardless of the seaweed on the shore, that will not be possible. The water is dark and gray, and the smell is unbearable. - The landscaping needs attention. Cutting of dead palm tree leaves and planting more colourful plants in lieu of plain grass around the pool would make a difference.

Great service and beautiful hotel.
We just got back from a 8 day stay. The service was wonderful and food and beverages great as well. The hotel is not huge which makes everything easily accessible. Strongly recommend upgrading to Serenity Club because of the extras that you receive
