A relaxed atmosphere
Rooms were clean and comfortable Staff were friendly, engaging and helpful. Breakfast buffet at Nuku, there is variety but lacked quality. My mother had the congee and rice was not cooked. We advised the staff and next day , congee was cooked well. Bacon tended to be overcooked and hard. Please check your receipts , had a pedicure done at the Spa and they also charged me for a manicure as well. Did get that resolved. Now back home and going through my finances and discovered that they had charged me an extra $40 on my accommodation costs. Please check and recheck.

Big hotel. Friendly team.
Big hotel. Quite long, so they have the Bula Express, a bus-like vehicle to take people from reception to their rooms as it can be quite a distance to walk, esp on those hot sticky days. Team were friendly and kind. This accommodation is particularly geared to families, lots of noisy children in and around the main pool areas. As a solo traveler, i was grateful for Koro where i could go eat and spend some time at the pool without children around. I have 4 stars bc it is quite expensive. Like prices on par or even above what i would pay in Australia. If you’re a family looking for a holiday resort where you can relax and your kids will be safe then you’ll likely find it here. If you’re like me and traveling alone, it was fine for a cpl of days, but any longer and i probably would have preferred something smaller and less busy.

Nice stay, but some things could be better
Overall we had a good stay, the free upgrade to one bedroom was a nice touch and much appreciated. The sparkling water, cookies and free cocktail voucher by the management were also a nice surprise. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Bula Express was very convenient, Koro was peaceful and quiet. The in-room TV provided plenty of helpful information about the property, but we did notice a small error in the displayed operating hours, it showed 10am to 5am, but it should have said 5pm, not a major issue but worth mentioning. However, we had a disappointing experience with one staff at Bula Express, he was warm and super friendly to Western guests, treating them like family, but he was rude and cold to us, we didn't even get a simple Bula or Vinaka and were completely ignored just because we are Asian? At a 5 star brand like Hilton, we expected all guests to be treated equally and with respect, this should not happen. The room, although upgraded, felt very humid and damp, which made it a bit uncomfortable. Also, I noticed that I was charged for two full pizzas, even though I ordered a half and half pizza. In other places, I have only been charged for the more expensive half. I should have checked the bill earlier, but I only realized it after I left, so I couldn’t clarify with the team about it, this is partly my own fault. As a hotelier myself, I appreciated many aspects of our stay, but these issues did impact the overall experience.

The amazing staff here ARE "The Fiji" we all hear about.
My partner and I travelled to Fiji in early April and stayed at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa in a "Deluxe 1 Bedroom Beachfront" room for 8 nights. The resort is easy to get to from the airport (about a 20 minute drive) and sits amongst many of the similar high profile resorts on Denarau Island. The staff at this resort are spectacular in every way, everyone we spoke to agreed. A couple we met while visiting Malamala Beach Club were staying at the nearby Sofitel and said they would be returning to the Hilton on their next visit simply based on the Hilton Staff. The room was immaculately cleaned, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well and there was absolutely no noise. We ordered wine and snacks from room service as soon as were in the room and it arrived quickly. We were not in Fiji to watch TV, but there were limited options and there were no streaming services like Netflix to login to. We could not even cast/airplay from our own devices and I would expect this in a hotel chain like The Hilton. Adding a casting device or application would be simple and tangible improvement. There were several pools (9 are advertised, it essentially equates to about 4-5) and 4 restaurants if you include the small deli. We used the adults only pool at Koro and generally ate at the Koro restaurant for breakfast and when we were having dinner in the resort. The food was great and the portions generous. We ate at Nuku one night for a special Lobster buffet and it was a comedy of errors in every way, we were placed at and moved from 3 different tables in the space of 10 minutes as a result of booking errors and people to returning to the table they had previously been placed at to find us sitting in their seats... initially it was just a bit silly, then it became embarrassing and then annoying. The food was also average at best and we didn't return. We made several trips on the "Bulla Bus" into the marina for lunch and to visit the supermarket there. It's simple and easy. We also made a half day trip out to Malamala Beach club (a full day would've been too long). The vast majority of our time was spent dragging our middle-aged-fatness down to the Koro pool, ordering drinks well before midday, eating too much and doing as little as possible. Watching the aquarobics from my deck chair with a gin in my hand was as close as I got to exercise. The friendly, calm and attentive (without being obtrusive in anyway) staff at Koro were the reason we spent so much time there and the sole reason for rating this resort as 5 stars. As 2 gay men visiting a religious and even conservative country, we were cautious... we needn't have been. I need to make special mention of some particularly super staff; our cleaner Macardo was too gorgeous for words, Prisilia and Luisa from Koro were just lovely and the standout star of our stay was Teresa at Koro. These 4 champions deserve more than a pat on the back from management, they ARE the key to the resort's success in an effortless and understated way. My partner's birthday was on our last night there and Teresa could not have made a bigger fuss of him. We'll be back.

We loved our stay!
We had the most amazing experience at the Hilton Fiji! The staff went above and beyond during our stay!! Seru at the spa was FANTASTIC!! Not only did he give the best massages, he was very patient when braiding my granddaughters hair and was so kind and generous that she wanted to go visit him numerous times a day! David at the restaurant was also so lovely and friendly! We can’t wait to come back!
