Paradise ... with fish.
I think the phrase "This really is paradise" popped up several times in conversation with my husband during our five night stay in one of the Hilton's overwater bungalows--and it really was! Our large bungalow was beautiful, clean, and super comfortable, with an upper and lower deck where you could relax and take in the stunning views of the ocean, sky, and tropical landscape. Such a thrill to be able to walk a few steps and climb down into the clear water each day to snorkel among the many amazing fish. So peaceful to sit at our outdoor table sipping coffee while the sun rose or enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. We loved watching the fish (and occasional shark!) through the glass window in the floor--seriously, it was more entertaining than television. The breakfast buffet was terrific (oh, how I miss the pineapple juice), and the Polynesian dinner show was awesome. We enjoyed some great food at the creperie and grill (be prepared for slower service than in the U.S.), and had fun playing with the paddleboard and kayaks. But what I find myself missing the most now that we're back home are the warm interactions we had with all of the wonderful staff members there. Everyone was so helpful, so kind, and always greeted us with a smile and la'orana. I truly hope we can return some day.

Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort Experience
Hubby & I had a relaxing 3-night visit to Moorea as part of our travel package with Bora Bora. However, the garden bungalow we stayed in could use some renovations especially the deck at the back—some board planks are loose and there are missing privacy boards. The boards on the wall next to the soaking pool have formed some mildew on them. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Their main restaurant, Arii Vahine Restaurant has had an amazing buffet offerings for breakfast including a variety of fruits native to the region of Polynesia. Their dinner menu also features fabulous food items. The servers are professional but pleasant. The Toatea Crēperie & Bar serves everything crepes—savory and desserts. We gave it a try and were surprised that crepes for dinner are good! The Polynesian dancers and performers presented an impressive and fantastic dinner show. Fire dancers performed at the beach and were amazing. Mareva, our friendly taxi driver took us to Punuhu Valley where the view is beautiful. She also took us to town where we did some shopping. She became our tour guide and shared her knowledge of the islands. Overall, we had fun here and would like to visit again and take our daughters for the experience. I would recommend though that staff at the front desks communicate with the housekeeping crew for available room/bungalow. We ended up waiting for hours (about 5 hours) until I inquired about the availability of our room. This was Unacceptable but we didn’t complain about this experience because we wanted to make it a pleasant first day visit.

Location, location, location
This was our first stop on a 2 island vacation. We stayed 5 nights in an overwater bungalow and I’m so glad we upgraded from the garden bungalow (they don’t have views). The lagoon is beautiful and full of fish, so you can find amazing snorkeling right off your patio. The bungalows are well appointed with nice showers and tubs and my favorite was the “window” on the floor that lets you look at the fish right below your villa. The resort has a nice little beach and we never had a hard time finding seating or shade. The service in general is spotty. I would not describe it as 5 star service. The staff is friendly but not overly helpful for the most part. The food is the one area where this resort falls short. While the breakfast buffet is substantial, the dinner buffet food is awful. Almost inedible. Cold, tasteless, and just not good. The crepe restaurant is a better choice but the service is extremely slow. None of the restaurants know how to make a proper cocktail, so you may want to make your own or stick to wine. We still had a wonderful time and would go back, just based on the location. Hopefully the Hilton devotes some time to improving the food.

The Best Hotel
Wow! Just wow! 🤯 I knew it was going to be amazing as I had researched all the places we were staying on the islands in French Polynesia thoroughly. But this exceeded my expectations! We opted for an over water bungalow and I’m so happy we did! It was beyond stunning!🩷🫶🏼 When we arrived we had champagne waiting for us, the room was just mind blowing! We had our breakfast included which was a buffet with lots to choose from, you could have a continental to lots of beautiful fruit. Or have the lady cook you eggs however you wanted them. The food in the evening was lovely too. They have Tahitian dancing there twice a week and they were fabulous! They called me up to dance! The staff couldn’t do more for us the entire stay. It was by far my favourite part of the honeymoon and we went to Tahiti and Bora Bora too. The water is so clear you can snorkel and see the most awesome marine life you’ve ever seen! The views are incredible there! But my favourite man of the holiday was a man called Heinui (head of customer liaisons) he was so much fun to be around, and made our stay perfect!🤩 The man who sorted the towels for us really helped me as I’d scratched my foot in a coral and it had become quite bad, he got some out to help me and got it bandaged up! (Can’t remember his name, but again the staff couldn’t do more for us here!)😍 When I had researched our honeymoon and the over water bungalows, the ones in Bora Bora were 5 times the price! In Moorea they were much more reasonable and worth the money hundred percent! Thank you to all the staff at the Hilton for making our honeymoon one I will never forget!

Nice stay in Moorea, the views are what make it special
First time in French Polynesia. Arrived into Tahiti the night before and took the ferry to Moorea. Rented car from Avis and drove to the Hilton. Free parking in the lot. Check-in took some time. There were a few couples ahead of us and only 2 front desk folk. We had booked a OWB for 3 nights. Our room was ready and they shuttled us and our bags to the room. The room was in good shape but can certainly use a renovation. Bed was comfy and water pressure was good. A/C was ok. There is a minibar which is refilled every night. Our deck looked out into the lagoon and there was lots of coral right next to the ladder. Ton of fish and sea life. Besides the time outside for our excursions, we spend most of our time on a floaty outside our bungalow. As a Hilton Gold, I got the continental breakfast each morning which was good. For $9, you had the option to upgrade to hot food. We had a rental car so did not have dinner or other meals at the Hilton. Drove out for lunch and dinner. The hotel had a decent sized pool. The grounds were well kept. Considering you are on a dot in the middle of the Pacific, I can understand why the costs are so high for a stay like this.
