Sep 08, 2025DIRTY, COCKROACHES, NO ASSISTANCE, WE RISKED TO LOOSE OUR FLIGHT
A very disappointing experience, especially considering it was our honeymoon. The hotel is rundown and dirty: cockroaches everywhere, even in the restaurant, which completely ruined our appetite. In the room there was even a card stating that their presence is “normal,” something absolutely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. On our first day, we asked to change rooms, but we were told to try again the following day and speak with the manager. I asked twice to speak with him, leaving my contact details, but nobody ever got back to me. The service was non-existent: the mosquito net was broken and we had to ask several times for it to be replaced. The room itself was dirty, with dust and greasy surfaces, showing a complete lack of proper cleaning. At breakfast, I even picked up one of the supposedly clean plates and ended up dirtying my hand, which says a lot about the hygiene standards. The common areas are neglected: the tennis court is dilapidated and crooked, practically unusable. To make things worse, the departure was handled with the same lack of professionalism. We were told that pickup would be at 8:50 for a 9:35 flight, which already seemed extremely tight. When we expressed our concern, we were reassured that everything was fine. Yet, at 7:40 someone knocked on our door asking if we were ready, only to change their mind twice: first telling us “no worries, take your time,” and then, just 10 minutes later, urging us to hurry. Eventually, they apologized, saying the driver had already left and that they would send another one, while even suggesting they might ask the plane to wait for us. This added a lot of unnecessary stress to an already disappointing stay. The only positive note: the whale watching excursions with the guide Pascal, who was truly knowledgeable and professional. Overall, totally unacceptable for a 5-star hotel, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I spent 3 days at Hilton Moorea and let me tell you, the fact that they charge so much and call themselves a 5 star resort is a joke! The customer service is terrible! Starting from the check in process! The service is bad, the food isn’t good, rooms are outdated and nothing works. Our TV didn’t work and the electricity outlet to charge our phones didn’t work. Just an example of the customer service, we asked for a grapefruit juice to go and were told NO! That our tour guide is looking for us, we showed up 15 mins early to a dinner reservation and were scolded for being early, mind you there were tons of tables available, you would wait forever to even get your drink order taken and they didn’t mention our Amex Platinum perks at check in and didn’t give us our $100 credit at check out. I sent about 6 emails to them and no response. I had to call and send 2 emails to finally get it taken care of . The location is beautiful and being able to snorkel from your deck is the only good thing about this place. For them to charge $1700 a night and get the this type of service and issues in your room is ridiculous! We went to the Four Seasons Bora Bora right after our stay and that was truly what a 5 Star Resort is supposed to be. Take notes Hilton Moorea! So disappointing.

Superb hotel located on the edge of the beautiful Moorea lagoon! Peaceful and relaxing! We will return to this beautiful island and return to this hotel!!
