My stay.
Fantastic stay. Great views. For a first holiday it was fantastic. The steak house was a little bit of a let down but otherwise a fantastic time

Family holiday
3 adults on a family holiday in a family room. The room was lovely and clean, we could have used another chair for the balcony since there was more than 2 people so not really enough for a family room. The staff were all lovely and the service was quick, though the evening entertainment could have been better. More live bands or tribute shows than circus acts or solo musicians playing guitar or saxophones. Was entertaining most nights but others it was better to just sit in the room. The pools were beautiful and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was great. Would 100% come back and recommend.

Would book again
Stayed at the RIU Buenavista for 2 weeks from 9th May. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. We were lucky to get a room with a sea view which was nice. The room was very comfortable with a walk in shower, tea making facilities and very clean. The food quality was very good and typical of an All Inclusive selection and always something to satisfy your appetite. Staff were present at the entrances to apply hand cleaning solution as some people still ignore basic cleanliness procedure. The speciality restaurants, Asian, Italian and Grill were very nice and we went twice during our stay. Many daytime activities, if you chose to take part, and the team worked very hard to entertain. Party night on Fridays included a Neon party and a White party. Very lively but everything finished at 11:00. Various artist on other nights included Queen and Michael Jackson tribute. Four pools plus a child's pool. If you want to relax use the adult pool overlooking the sea, there is also a nice sun bathing area at the Titanic pool. The hotel is built into a rock so access to the pool areas is on a gradient with wheelchair access to all areas. The surrounding area is quite hilly and may be difficult to access for some. We enjoyed our stay and would book agasin.

An amazing week - thank you Riu
This was our first stay in this beautiful hotel and we’ve not been disappointed. The staff are truly out of this world, nothing is too much trouble, they are incredibly attentive, friendly and welcoming, and are an asset to the hotel and Riu overall. The hotel itself is immaculate and staff are constantly on the go working to keep it running as well as it does. Our room was spacious and kept so incredibly clean by the cleaning team. The food options were lovely, a few comments that are on Trip Advisor note that the food gets repetitive but I feel that the buffet food had different aspects to it every time we went. Asian was exceptional and we can see why it gets booked so quickly. A tip for future guests is to book your restaurants as soon as you arrive as they do get booked up very quickly. The children’s pool is brilliant and our little girl who’s almost 2 loved it, the slides were great and like the rest of the hotel, it was very clean and safe. We really liked the fact that you cannot smoke in the pool areas. As non-smokers, at previous hotels we’ve disliked being sat at the pool and having someone smoking very close to us, so to see this was something we really appreciated by us. For smokers though, the smoking areas are not far away from the pool at all just far enough for non-smokers to not be affected by it. The only bits of constructive criticism that we have is that the entertainment is slightly lacking, there were so many children playing every evening so we feel the hotel could benefit from some children’s entertainment such as a mini disco. The only other things are that the surrounding of the pool surfaces get very slippery when wet, and in our family room the shower wall is frosted glass which backs right onto the second bedroom which is where we put our little girl to bed, so we couldn’t switch the bathroom light on after she’d gone to bed as the light would have shun right into the room she was sleeping in. Overall these are such minor things and absolutely wouldn’t stop us from returning. We were so sad to leave, so thank you Riu for an amazing and memorable week! We hope to return next year to either this hotel or a different Riu and you have set the standard very high for others Riu’s!

Average….. at best.
About to go home tomorrow after 12 nights here. On the surface this hotel is amazing, spotlessly clean and very well presented, what you’d expect for the cost. It’s only when you delve deeper the obvious cracks start to appear. We arrived all excited, had requested a high room for our anniversary. Unfortunately this wasn’t available which was fair enough but they stuck us in the annex block at the side of the hotel, with zero sun on our balcony. We requested a new room and had to wait 5 days for a new room, only to be given another room in the main building but with no sun again. We decided to just deal with it. Some staff on the reception were helpful. Some not so helpful. As for the rooms - huge, clean and what your expect from a hotel like this. No issues at all. Food - erm below average, repeated night after night. The specialty dinning is just featured buffets with the same food they serve in the main restaurant. The hotel misses a huge trick with this and given the cost of the hotel it was disappointing. Also everything is warm…. Want cold fruit… it’s warm…. Want hot food you can guess! Drinks - poor, pre mixed cocktails from a machine which are just sugary. Self serve beer is okay (Amstel and cruzcampo radler). Self serve wine is also watery. Day Entertainment - beyond awful…. They seem to base themselves around the small middle pool only venturing to the bigger one at the bottom for aqua gym. Non existent. You don’t see them walking around or interacting with anyone. No issues finding sunbeds throughout the resort. Adults only pool was lifeless. Titanic pool bottom left looking towards the sea was good. As for evening entertainment - well yet again it’s awful. I’m currently sat in the lobby since 6.30 and it’s now 8pm and there has been nothing whatsoever. On random days they have a kahoot quiz which you can barely see the screen when the entertainer isn’t in the way. They occasionally outsource some musicians who play background music which is repetitive and boring. Main shows around 9pm for 45 mins they are very cheap and average. Kids disco at 5.30 every night. Other than that nothing for children to do other than run around to the sound of voices. The location - for me and my partner it was okay as we can walk about. But for the not so mobile it wouldn’t be good. Very hilly the complex and outside it’s on a hill. Playa paraiso is a very quiet town with 4 Indian restaurants and a couple of Italians. Quiet place don’t be thinking it’s in Costa adeje as that would be a 20 minute taxi ride. Overall it was nice to get away from normal life and have a holiday. Would I recommend this hotel to anyone? I’m afraid I would not. So much potential but let’s itself down massively, although if you read the comments from the hotel they look to fix things. Not that I can see. Also…. Not seen any sickness during our stay.
