  First Class

  Just returned from our third visit to this first class hotel. You are greeted warmly when you arrive and the perfection continues from there. We stayed in a standard room which was spacious, with plenty of storage, and immaculately clean. Beds are comfortable, we requested extra pillows via the Riu app and they arrived promptly. Every member of staff is friendly and helpful, especially our wonderful cleaner, Pili, who was always so cheerful and did a brilliant job. The food is very good, plenty of choices, always replenished and nice and hot. Entertainment was hit and miss, some excellent acts, Hit Bros, Hector, Elvis and ABBA and a couple not so good but perhaps that's just a matter of taste. Thank you to all the staff that make this hotel such a wonderfully relaxing place to be, we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

  Fantastic new year break

  I absolutely love this place ! From the moment you step Inside the hotel and are greeted by the friendly receptionists with a welcome drink you know you are on to a good thing! Our room was fantastic we opted for the large room and it was very spacious, well appointed with great sea views. Food was just amazing ! Breakfast and dinner ! As you enter the restaurant the friendly efficient staff show you to your table. The buffet is well stocked, plenty of choice and looks and tastes delicious. Bottles of wine are very reasonable around 13 euros for the house Rioja which was very nice New Year’s Eve was brilliant. A fantastic gala dinner we opted for the 9pm seating free wine and cava on offer too with an amazing buffet fresh seafood, meats etc. we didn’t stay for the evening entertainment instead we went to the balcon to enjoy the live music and fireworks. The hotel is well located only 10 minute walk from the balcon and lots of sea walks. All in all a truly wonderful stay. If I had one little niggle that would be that the entertainment wasn’t really for us. A couple of nights it was good but other times not so great. Only a small stage with no sound system so will always struggle to put a band for example on. Would I come back ? Oh yes! I’ve already booked for this Christmas and new year!! Can’t wait!! Thankyou to all the great staff, can’t wait to see you again this year!

  Great place to stay for a older generation

  A high quality hotel with excellent staff who accommodate all your needs. The food is of a high standard & everyone is friendly. This is an adults only hotel so be aware the average age is 65 plus.

  You will go a long way to beat this hotel.

  From the first moment we arrived we were treated like valued guests. I had emailed prior to coming and asked for a high floor. We got exactly that. Top floor corner apartment sea view huge room. Lovely comfortable beds too. Cleaned to a high standard every day. The food was excellent. A wide choice every night. Bar prices are fine except they measure the whisky. Take your own. Waiters find you a table which is good. If I was to have a slight grumble it would be the bacon. Steamed, limp and generally fatty. Come on Monica. You can do better than this. Transfer from the airport was good. The wait of over an hour to get through immigration not so good. But this is about the Hotel Monica. Friendly staff. Clean first class hotel. Thank you.

  Nice hotel - not sure we’d return

  Lovely hotel - staff are amazing and cant do enough for you. Lovely huge room on the 6th floor, with a fabulous sea view and lovely comfortable beds. Thankfully it was very quiet as other quests were complaining about their noisy rooms! Food was pretty decent but a bit ‘samey’ To be honest we’ve had better at other RIU hotels. The exception being the Gala Dinner on Christmas evening - that was fabulous. Entertainment was fairly good but nothing special considering it was Christmas. I would recommend Il Sono though, they were magnificent. Altogether a decent Christmas break but would I return to the Monica - no.
