Excellent stay!
We have returned from an 11 night holiday at this hotel. We had never been away for 11 nights before so we’re a little dubious but the hotel was fantastic and we found it to be extremely comfortable in every aspect. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful in all departments. It was heart warming seeing the lengths they went to to support less able guests. The food was varied every day and always excellent. Ignore the other reviews where they say there is no variety - there is always different options to cater for everyone at every meal. You can also get late night snacks which was a bonus! This hotel is really 24hr all inclusive. The hotel also provides large bottles of water 24hours a day too. The rooms were very comfortable, beds were great and we slept very well. The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping rooms clean. The two pool areas offered variety and something to suit everyone. We personally enjoyed the walk between both sides as the gardeners keep the grounds immaculate. I would highly recommend this hotel, it’s been fantastic for us - thank you!

We keep on returning
Our 4th time at this lovely hotel. It’s no surprise that so many people return again and again. Though it’s not adult only, there aren’t many families here at the moment, but that’s maybe because it’s term-time. The whole hotel is spotless, food is hot and varied, and staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is accessible for those with mobility problems and I’ve witnessed the life-guard being extra helpful with a lady with difficulties who wished to get in the pool. It’s probably best to ask to be sited in the main hotel if you can’t walk too far, as although there’s pools and snack bars over the ‘quiet side’, you need to walk to main building for the restaurant. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. If you’re not happy with something, just let them know and they’ll do everything they can to help. The entertainment team are enthusiastic, and work so hard. It’s up to you if you want to join in with the daytime activities , but if you do, you get chatting with other guests which is nice. Drinks are locally produced, this isn’t a problem for us as we’re not big drinkers. Prosecco, chocolates and a rose appeared in my room on my birthday 😍

BEAUTIFUL STAY AT HOTEL RIU PARAISO
My husband Keith & myself have just returned from a two week stay at the spotlessly clean Hotel Riu Paraiso. This Hotel boasts a modern refurbishment in 2021 & is situated across the road from the huge, stunningly beautiful, 3km stretch of beach named Los Pocillos. Los Pocillos bay is spaciously adorned with sunbeds, clean waters, huge expanse of golden sand & is lined with a lengthy promenade that stretches all the way into Matagorda bay toward the airport, (by taking a left turn from the back gate of the hotel) where cyclists, walkers, scooter riders etc make their way to stand under the planes as they fly in to Lanzarote. It is possible to walk/cycle to Arrecife taking this route. Take a right turn from the hotel & both beach & promenade will take you round the headland into the beautiful sandy bays, shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, villas, apartments of bustling Puerto Del Carmen renowned for its' thriving nightlife, water sports & harbour. Riu Paraiso Hotel with its' beautiful pools (lined with comfortable sunbeds) spotless grounds & beautiful gardens covers a vast area due to the RIU Hotels take over of another adjacent hotel many years ago. The RUI's original MAIN part of the hotel still has its 3 restaurants, bars & a snack bar situated here and installed a bridge walk to connect both parts of its hotel. The bridge walk overlooks the beautiful gardens that boast more comfortable modern immensely clean rooms. Once over the bridge walk you will find more pools, sunbeds, snack bar, gym, & a holiday shop. This RIU hotel is all inclusive. Having read some of the reviews of watered down drinks & tasteless food we were wondering what we were in for as we usually book Los Jameos Hotel also situated on Los Pocillos bay that is renowned for it's beautiful cuisine. However Los Jameos was still being refurbished so we booked RIU Paraiso. So how was the food & drink at RIU Paraiso Hotel? .... We need to make it very clear to all holiday makers...RIU Hotel food is DELICIOUS!! Drinks are not watered down. We drank the delicious red & white wine & Keith loved their Mojito. I tried the Sangria & asked for another drop of brandy JUST PERFECT! Take your pick from beautifully seasoned grilled tuna, swordfish, chicken, carved turkey, & pork dishes, wide variety of fish & salads on display throughout with sauces.Taste the varied pasta & rice dishes, ravioli & very well seasoned veg etc etc AND O.M.G. taste those delicious KING PRAWNS dipped in their Marie Rose Sauce! PURE HEAVEN with a sip of white wine as a starter! Varied Fresh bread rolls on display at breakfast lunch & dinner, Vegan, Gluten Free, Allergies, all catered for! Breakfast boasts vast continental & vast range of your traditional eggs bacon beans tomatoes with breads for your toast with butter jams honey & cereals...then the array of croissants huge display of fruit & the most delicious desserts! No-one will go hungry here!...even the burger & chip lovers are catered for. From Sushi to Tacos the RIU has International cuisine covered. Due to RIU Paraisos' right by the beach position it has plenty of sea view rooms so we booked one then emailed ahead for a high floor, sunny position, in the main hotel with some peace & quiet & kept our fingers crossed. This hotel gave us exactly that! Thank You So Much! We had the immaculate modern room 337 on the top floor with a stunning sea view, set between two palms hosting the most beautiful lively green parakeets. It has to be said that what made our holiday overall a happy stay at the RIU was the workers themselves who waited on us in the restaurants, served us at the bars, prepared cooked & served our food in the kitchens, cleaned & maintained our room & jumped to our every enquiry for help & guidance at reception. All of these workers were & are so very warm & friendly & at breakfast lunch dinner we had so much fun conversing with them all. Special thanks to Benito & 33yr old Jasmina originally from Columbia who spoke of her very much loved 14yr old son, we just nicknamed her the beautiful BELLA. And a big happy Buenos Dias to the lady who smiled & conversed while flipping my egg every morning! So what possible improvements can the RIU make? 1) For early flight arrivals waiting for your room up until 3-4pm in the afternoon is tedious & tiring. Until it does we recommend that holiday makers travelling from colder climates pack shorts light tops swimsuits in hand luggage to change into. We literally searched for a wind tunnel to cool down in & found one at the side of the restaurant. 2) We wanted to hire bikes & was told to take our bikes into our room instead of locking them up outside the hotel? With respect we are young at heart 70yr olds but taking two bikes up in a tiny lift is both dangerous & ridiculous. So we didn't bother hiring a bike which curtailed one of our favourite holiday past times.😴 Overall would we recommend holiday makers to stay at Hotel RIU Paraiso? Of course we would! So what are you all waiting for GET IT BOOKED!

A little (big) gem
We have had an excellent stay at RIU Paraiso Lanzarote. Here for a week at the end of September/start of October 2025 and everything has been just fabulous. We had a bit of an upgrade to a family room so had a bit of extra space and we stayed in one of the garden apartments. The hotel is BIG. Luckily we were right in the middle so not much of a walk to any of the amenities. I think it would be a bit of a drag if you get a room at the Los Pocillos end of the hotel as the restaurants/reception are at the Puerto del Carmen end and it is a bit of a trek. Accessibility is good as the hotel is built on fairly flat ground. Food is excellent (a step above the RIU place we stayed in on Tenerife) and service is friendly and efficient. Pools are good, one of them isn't heated though so a brave choice in the winter months, and sunbeds are plentiful. Short walk to local bars and shops if the fancy takes you.

VERY POOR
Me and my partner booked here for june 2025 and couldnt be more dissatisfied, it is an all inclusive hotel but we could never eat in there at all, the amnount of food choice was good but taste overall very poor, the room we was given was on the stretch of the "vulcano" night club and would be awake most nights of the week until 2.30-3am which clearly ruined our sleep, inside the room wasnt clean at all our shower was full of mosquitos and flys and ants daily, the cleaners didnt seem to do much when they was in there, the floor was filthy we didnt feel clean all week, to the point i couldnt even bare the thought of getting into the bed (luckily i took my own blanket and pillow), we had ants all over the balcony that was getting into the room all in all was very scruffy. the pool was disgustingly dirty we went in once all week and once we realised how dirty it was we never stepped foot back in, only good thing is there was plenty of sunbeds no matter what time you arrived you would get a sunbed, not a very good location as your not near anything and is about 1/2 hour walk into the town its self, we came home needing another holiday, for a "all inclusive" we could of gone somewhere else that would of been decent and not having to go out food every day and night simply because we couldnt stomach the food in the hotel, the drinks was appauling if you wanted a cocktail you got a glass of ice, everything was very weak and the drinks station was full of gas we couldnt drink here also, only bottled water and coffee from the machine, also the air con was extremley loud as if it was about to take off but hardly any power behind it, all in all i wouldnt recomend this hotel to anyone.
