Love Coral Gables!!
We were only guests for a few hours, however I would like to say that the hotel was amazing. They kindly upgraded our room to a junior suite. The staff were friendly and kind, and the drinks were great. I would not hesitate to book Coral Gables again.

Very disappointing experience
I was very disappointed with my stay at this Hyatt property. The staff was not helpful at all and consistently ignored our requests. Simple things we asked for were either dismissed or never followed up on. When staying at a Hyatt, you expect a higher level of service and hospitality, but unfortunately, that was not the case here. Poor customer service overshadowed the rest of the experience.

I would not stay here if you care about safety in an emergency.
Just after 3 AM, an alarm blared in our room multiple times before announcing that an emergency had been reported in the hotel and that we should stay in place. My son and I were on the 5th floor in a room with patio doors leading to the pool deck — all glass. Trying not to panic, we moved into the bathroom to stay away from the windows and waited. Fifteen minutes passed with no update from the hotel. It was eerily quiet — no alarms, no announcements, no reassurance. I texted 911, and police were dispatched. They told me they were unaware of any emergency and asked me to check for flashing lights — but none were visible, and the pool deck lights had gone dark. When the police arrived, they confirmed that the hotel had accidentally triggered the alarm and that there was no emergency. My son was terrified and begged to leave. I called the front desk, and their response was shockingly casual: “Don’t worry, nothing is wrong — we were polishing the floors.” When I went down to the lobby and asked what their emergency plan was, they had no answer. If I hadn’t contacted 911, we would have remained in that bathroom waiting for an “all clear” that never came. There was no communication, no protocol followed, and no reassurance to guests. We packed up and left immediately. I emailed the hotel asking for an explanation, but no one has responded. For a major brand like Hyatt, this is unacceptable. In today’s world — where active shooter drills are a normal part of children’s lives — this was a horrific and traumatizing experience for my son and me. Safety procedures should be taken seriously. This hotel was completely unprepared, and I cannot recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel. Terrific bar food and drinks. Great staff.
We really enjoyed this hotel for one night before a cruise. Much more than any other hotel we've used previously. We arrived late but were able to have the best food in the bar. And a perfect martini. Only downsides were the AC and the pillows. The pillows felt as though they had chunks of foam in them. Check and ask for different pillows. The AC cycled on and off.
