  You shouldn't go anywhere else

  We had an excellent time at the Vivid Grand island. Rooms were huge, the facilities and entertainment were top notch. The staff were very attentive. Jesus, our poolside server was excellent. Always perfectly timed for a drink or some water. Eduardo, the bartender, made the best margaritas I had in Cancun! Both were super friendly and made our stay extra special.

  Fun, modern resort with great entertainment

  I've visited the Hyatt Vivid Grand Island resort for 2 weeks for a friend's 30th birthday. We came as a party of 6 and we were amazed when we first arrived at the resort because it looked even better than the pictures. You're greeted by two big pools as you enter the resort. The rooms were excellent and modern with USB-C sockets being present on the plugs, no need for the adapters I had brought. The check-in and check-out processes are both smooth, taking only minutes. It's slightly confusing but the reception area has three (as far as I'm aware) distinct sections - left for VIP service, middle for check-in and out and also peso exchange services (I exchanged large pesos notes to 20 pesos notes here) and right for the concierge. Food and beverages were much better than I had initially anticipated, with a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dinner restaurants operate as standard sit-down restaurants where you are seated at a table, order from a menu, and have food arrive at your table. The only difference is that you don't need to pay as it's all included. All the restaurants were good, the Japanese (Oishiii) and Itailian (Aglio) being my two favourite ones. Lunch time you can either hit up Vivid Bites (we call it Taco Truck) for tacos, Fresca Ceviche for fresh ceviche, BBQ pop-up for burgers and whatever else they have on that day (e.g., roast chicken, ribs, hotdogs, and others), and finally the buffet at Galleria Cafe which has a multitude of options. Honestly, I've put on around 3kg across two weeks so that should say it all. I was also at least mildly intoxicated as cocktails are included as part of the all-inclusive. Big shout out to Oliver, Roger, and Patricio who served us drinks and food when we were on the sunbeds (which was most days). What really made the resort for me was the variety of entertainment activities happening every day. These vary from fitness classes (e.g., pilates, aqua-aerobics, aqua-cycling, etc.), creative workshops (bracelet and dream catcher making, wine & paint sessions, etc.), live bands and singers, salsa nights, party nights, and so on! The entertainment team are also phenomenal at their job and they've really elevated my stay. I want to give a massive shout out to Angel (AKA Mexican Chocolate from the Heavens), Cesar, Orlando, Taylor, Sofia, and Ashley from the entertainment team for always bringing a smile to my face and being absolutely excellent both during and outside of activities. I would highly recommend this resort, you'll be well looked after with food in your belly, a drink in your hand, and entertainment running until 11pm every night. - Brandon

  Awesome Resort with really good food

  Wonderful and beautiful Resort. Awesome food even in the buffet. Pools are also amazing, but only 1 is heated. I don't mind for heated pools however the ones not heated felt like we were in spring waters or waterfall temperatures. Wonderful service, super nice employees that treat you well and nice em especial Oliver at the second pool :) Beach Club is beautiful and food is super nice, however lines in the morning are terrible, and if you get to it later then, it's really hard to get a seat. Entertainment at night is next to nothing, so don't expect much. Rooftop pool definitely has its charm, however water is ice cold and the time we went on Nov it was crowed with only 1 bar which means you gotta wait and wait for you drinks (even been Vantage). For me it didn't worth the upgrade, except for the Vantage Club bar next to the the lobby. That bar itself is awesome, great bartenders and snacks. Particularly Thursdays the chocolate snacks are out of this world.

  Girls birthday trip

  Just came back from my birthday trip here and I had the best time! The hotel itself is really beautiful, clean, safe and wonderfully decorated. The rooftop pool has stunning views of the sunset, the drinks were decent quality up here and the Vantage club. It’s definitely worth spending the little extra for Vantage club as I feel like you could tell the difference in the quality of drinks at times between the vantage options and the regular poolside drinks. The staff were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. A big shoutout to the entertainment staff, Taylor, Orlando and Caesar, they were all so friendly and very entertaining. It was really nice to talk to them like regular people but they were also very professional. Entertainment during the day and evening are varied, some repeat during the week which I appreciate because sometimes I’d miss something that I wanted to do due to being out on an excursion but knowing it’s happening again in a few days is quite nice to know. The beach club is beautiful, can run out of beds quite quickly but depends on the time of day you go. The food here is really good, wish there were a few more options though as you’d end up eating the same thing everyday. Food in the hotel was pretty good. The breakfast and lunch buffet were tasty and didn’t get sick from any salads or fruits, there’s a lot of options. I do wish there was a dinner buffet as the biggest negative of the hotel is the booking system for the restaurants. We’d end up always getting reservations for dinner either 6pm or 9:30pm which is not ideal when you just want to chill and not worry about dinner. The reservations would get booked up really quickly so you have to set yourself a reminder everyday to get a time you want and even then they might not even be available. The food at the restaurants were good, a downside here was that some of the food would come out cold. Which is a shame because the flavours are there but when it’s cold, it ruins the experience a bit. Overall, it was a wonderful birthday trip. Would return again.

  Amazing resort 10/10

  Oliver by the pool was amazing and was always checking in on us to see if we needed anything. Cesar, Orlando and Rebecca made the trip so fun. I loved all the activities they hosted, they felt like family by the end of the trip. All of the staff was incredible, always willing to help with a smile on their face, you could tell they really loved their jobs. The beach club was beautiful, the ocean was swimable and had a good food menu. This was my favourite resort I have ever been to and I hope to be back
