Another great vacation at the Hyatt Ziva, Los Cabos
We just returned from Hyatt Ziva, Los Cabos. This is our 2nd time there, the last being Christmas, 2024. This time we were there for 10 days. We love the resort, the room, the food, and the entertainment. My wife and I were there simply for a relaxing beach vacation from December 1 - 11, 2025. The positives - We had an ocean view king room and loved it. We could look out on the ocean every day and it was so peaceful. The room was clean and worked perfectly for us. We love the food at this resort. The variety with the restaurants was great and because this was a slower time after Thanksgiving and before Christmas it was easy to get into each of the restaurants without reservations. We always went at 5:00 PM for supper so that helped as well. All the restaurants were very good but our particular favourite was the Italian. We also really enjoyed Taco Tuesday at the Mexican. They make the tacos fresh with either yellow or blue corn and there were 15 different tacos to choose from. The salsas and toppings ranged from mild to super hot if that is your preference. We ate at all the restaurants at least once and one evening we dined at the buffet. During the day by the pool you had a choice of, street food (different every day), the Station which had hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, fries, and subs), the healthy bar that had smoothies, poke bowls, etc, and a nacho station that had fresh nachos every day. We ate at the La Plaza buffet every breakfast which was also very good. We especially want to recognize Jair, whom we met last year and remembered us this year. (He is our favourite) We always requested to be in his location and had good chats each day along with outstanding service. We also met Ricardo who gave us fantastic service as well.. My wife and I do not drink alcohol, but there are many choices for mock-tails and frozen drinks to choose from and they are all delicious. The poolside entertainment each day was fun. We always parked ourselves in the same location each day and had a ringside view of most activities taking place. As a result we got to know all the poolside crew who kept the music pumping which we loved. A special shout out to all the entertainment and exercise team who all said hi to us daily and talked with us. Raul, Francisco, Angel, Julio, and Paula kept us entertained and made each day enjoyable. They even let us make some music requests. They always wanted to know how things were going and if we were enjoying our vacation. No vacation goes perfectly and there were a few minor glitches along the way. The only one that put a minor damper on things was a power outage that occurred at approximately 2 AM and lasted 3 hours. Most people would not even notice because they would be sleeping, but I use a CPAP machine and of course woke up because of breathing issues and had to get up until the power came back on. There were a handful of other power outages but these lasted merely seconds and did not disrupt things. One outage occurred when we were in the French restaurant and lasted a couple of minutes. The rest of the issues were small such as having to request extra facecloths and hand towels for our room (On 3 or 4 occasions, they left one facecloth and one hand towel instead of two). We had a couple of misorders in the restaurants (this may be a language thing). One of the appetizers my wife ordered said grilled beef but the beef was raw when it arrived. Another instance in the same restaurant was actually funny - I had ordered mac and cheese as a side and they gave me a bowl of Parmesan cheese. They made every effort to make things right though. On our second last day, we came to the pool early as was our habit for the entire vacation. The pool was never full our entire trip. We placed our stuff on the loungers and were going for a walk on the beach. The pool security informed us we could not reserve our loungers. We informed security that the sign said, we could reserve the loungers for up to 45 minutes unattended. After coming back from the beach we sat in our loungers for a while and then went for breakfast. We were never away for more than the allowed 45 minutes. (Actually closer to 30). When we returned from breakfast all our stuff was gone. Note that at this time of day, we were the only ones by the pool and every lounger was still available. We had someone look into this and a manager was sent. The manager was very understanding and apologized for this issue - He retrieved our stuff and all was well. He even recognized us and said he saw us every day as he was passing by. In this particular case, the pool security was being over zealous in his job. This happened to one other couple that had left their stuff on a lounger as well. They returned the other couples stuff before they came back. Kevin (one of the managers) was very good and made us feel valued. He wanted to know about our experience and we shared what we noted above with him. He offered and we accepted a complimentary late checkout due to the issues we had experienced. We also had a butler assigned to us by the name of Ricardo. Ricardo keep us informed every day about activities and which restaurants were open. He was good at his job. Overall we are very happy with this resort and would definitely return again. The staff all seem to enjoy their jobs and make us feel welcomed and valued.

The staff will make you feel you have a home in paradise away from home
First and foremost, I need to highlight the phenomenal job done by Carlos Lopez, our butler. I honestly did not even realize that our room had butler services when we booked, but this experience made me want to always book a room with a butler. Carlos made us feel comfortable, at home and extremely well taken care of. He went way above and beyond to ensure our maximal satisfaction. Prior to our stay, we had emailed the hotel (at least a month in advance) asking about securing halal meat for us. Initially we were told this was confirmed. However, when the day came, Carlos came to us and told us that they in fact did not yet have the meat secured and apologized profusely, but promised he would do whatever he could to get this for us. He ended up going to 6 different stores and restaurants in Cabo San Lucas and managed to secure this for us. Between him and the manager, they also got this for us at cost! He actually was not going to tell us at all the lengths he went to to get this for us, but we insisted he tell us. He then coordinated with the kitchen and they came specially to serve us. This made our stay so exceptionally special, and made us feel so cared for! The food was also delicious. The day we checked out, he was off after over a week stretch. Despite this, he coordinated the bellman to get our bags and even continued to check on us. I cannot thank Carlos enough, as well as the rest of the staff. I have been raving about him to everyone since we returned. I also want to specifically highlight the amazing work by the Dozo (Asian) Restaurant team. The manager there, our server Luis, and Chef Daniel all did tremendous jobs. Chef Daniel even came out to take a picture with us after preparing our halal meal. We really felt like VIPs. Our check in experience with Celia was also very smooth despite the fact that we had multiple rooms. She was patient with us and they had treats and drinks for us to enjoy during the process. Our bellman Carlos on check in also took great care of our bags. Overall, to be completely honest, we have had certain things we enjoyed more at other Hyatt Ziva locations (mostly surrounding food at some restaurants) - but the hospitality we enjoyed, the immaculate grounds, the excellent circus show, the securing of halal meat, and the unbelievable lengths that Carlos went to to take care of us have all made this our favorite experience at any hotel in Mexico. We will definitely plan to return, God willing.

Anniversary Celebration December 2025
This is a solid all inclusive resort. What brought it down for us was the family atmosphere with kids everywhere. The staff was amazing and attentive. Our room was beautiful and updated. The property was gorgeous and well maintained. The food was fine but not over the top. There are many restaurant choices which was a benefit. Pools were nice but really cold. Not crowded and plenty of space to relax. The pool service was excellent and some of the best we have seen. The beach access is direct and lovely views. Not swimmable per se unless you are good for an ice bath! Weather was gorgeous. Resort lost power twice while we were there but it was restored quickly (within 15 min). The resort has tight security and we felt very safe.

A week to remember at Ziva, Los Cabos
I don’t usually write travel reviews, but I felt I had to after our first visit to the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and check‑in was quick and easy. I wish I remembered the name of the front desk agent, but even without that detail, our first night was restful and the room was very comfortable. The next day we ran into a small issue with the room. I went down to the lobby to mention it and that’s when I met Uriel, the chief concierge. He didn’t hesitate—he arranged a room change right away, and it turned out to be an upgrade. That was great, but honestly, what mattered more was how he looked after us for the rest of the trip. Every day he checked in, asked if we needed anything, and made it clear he was there to help with dining or activities. His kindness and genuine interest in our stay made the vacation unforgettable. Thank you, Uriel! The rest of the staff were also wonderful. I can’t remember everyone’s names, but a few stand out: Alejandro, the poolside server who was always attentive and remembered our names; Margarita, the friendly host at La Plaza; and Roberto, who served us at Farina E Olio. At Mahika, the food was outstanding—some of the best Indian cuisine I’ve had in years. The manager (sadly I don’t recall his name) made sure we had a special evening, and David, our server, was cheerful and funny. Overall, the food at the resort was excellent. We didn’t try every restaurant, but the ones we did were consistently good. It was easy to overindulge, but the gym was amazing—great equipment and plenty of space. I spent about two hours a day working out, which balanced things nicely. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pools, chatting with other guests, and walking along the long sandy beach. The resort really caters to all ages. It was heartwarming to see families with grandparents, parents, and kids all enjoying themselves together. In closing, I’d definitely recommend the Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. Wherever you stay, whether here or elsewhere, remember to appreciate the people you meet and not stress too much about small inconveniences. The connections you make with the wonderful people of Los Cabos are what truly make the trip special.

Excellence hotel
Just got back from a trip to Los Cabos Ziva. This hotel is excellence choice we made. The lobby is beautiful with Christmas decorations. The employees are welcoming and nice, made us feel like we were special guests. The restaurants very nice, we really love French restaurant. It's too bad, that there's not much to do around Los Cabos with foot traffic, otherwise we could explore more to see more local activities. The beach is clean & nice, but not swimable.
