Bed bugs and terrible customer service!
Bed bugs! Do not stay here unless you want to bitten by bed bugs, take them home, and spend well over $1000 on an exterminator. We notified the staff of the bed bugs in villa 67 (rooms 2674 and 2677). The GM (Josmar) initially dismissed it as “ants” despite being show photographic evidence of the mattress and front desk management (Ernesto and Francesca) said there weren’t any other rooms available. Eventually after much instance the Guest Services representative (Orlina) accompanied me to the room with 2 people from a “3rd party” who did nothing except throw the sheets over to the couch area. She verified there were bed bugs, and lo and behold another suite was available in the Coral area, which was fine but our larger family group was discriminated against whenever they joined us. She guaranteed free laundry for the contaminated service. That took multiple follow up calls and then when we checked out they charged us $300 for it. A week after leaving a Public Relations representative (Yolanda) produced a bogus “inspection report” that said there weren’t any bed bugs. They eventually refunded the laundry, but that didn’t cover the cost we had to mitigate them at home despite taking every precaution to leave luggage in the garage, bag and wash everything, and steam the suitcases. Plus this means they didn’t address the public health issue and every guest staying in our first (villa 67 - 2674 and 2677) and second (villa 88 - 3884 and 3887) family suite will have the same issues. So much sleep and emotional tax was lost itching, stressing, and communicating with this horrible company.

Our Home Away from Home Paradise
We stayed at our "second home" for 11 days in November - we travel to the Bavaro Suites 2x a year (early Spring/late Fall). We love the staff, suite rooms, the beach with palapas, resort grounds, and restaurants. We now book the category "Junior Suite Near Beach" through Iberostar.com/IHG and request a certain top floor suite and have received it every visit - thank you very much to the Bavaro Reception Staff. A shout-out to Altagracia and Edwin in the main buffet who find us a table for every meal and serve us our drinks promptly. My fiancé gets our drinks at the Cool Wagon before heading to the beach; Natalia gives exceptional service and is always friendly and a pro at making cocktails. The grounds are beautiful, lush and tropical; we enjoy walking the pathways around the Bavaro and over to the Dominican & Punta Cana Waves. We are beach people and have no problem getting a palapa for the day and enjoy walking the beach in each direction for a little exercise. However, the Selection Bavaro is also a resort for pool lovers. The Bavaro Selection Suites is an excellent choice for couples, singles, and families who want to relax and/or be active on vacation - try it, you'll love it!

Great vacation...not perfect
My family, group of 9, stayed here for a week. Overall, it was a very nice vacation but not one of our favourites. We had great service from 2 employees all week. Huge thank you to Sophia in the buffet, and Julio by the pool. They are both phenomenal! Every morning we got a warm welcome at breakfast from Sophia, and she always had our table ready for us. Excellent service! Julio by the pool was also fabulous! He was very efficient bringing us our drinks and was always around. Great bartender/server. He also made the drinks. Helpful tip, if you like Caesars, order a bloody Caesar from Julio! They don't have clamato juice, but they have tomato juice, and Julio makes the best bloody Caesar! He is the only bartender we would order them from! The grounds at the hotel were beautiful and well maintained. The beach had a decent amount of seaweed when we were there, but it was still beautiful. The bottles they give you to fill with the filtered water are convenient, but near the end of the week they starting smelling really bad. Like a fish tank. I'm assuming they will replace them for you if needed, but someone in our group waited 3 days and asking multiple times to get a "do not disturb" sign for their door, so we didnt even bother trying. 7 out of the 9 of us had some form of stomach/digestive issues that week. Nothing too serious but definitely not enjoyable. Food was good. Basic resort food. The Greek, Asian and Italian restaurants were very good. Overall, it was a good vacation, but not great

60 person wedding of our dreams! Highly recommend Katiuska as your wedding coordinator
My (now) wife and I had 60 friends and family stay at the Bavaro and Coral suites this past November 2025 to celebrate our wedding. Katiuska Arache Rodriguez was our wedding coordinator. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience working with her on this very special weekend. Katiuska is professional, calm, warm, and extremely good at her job. You can tell she has done many of these, yet at the same time made our wedding feel so unique, special, and important to her. She was with us every step of the way from planning the events remotely, and then greeting us right as we first arrived. She walked us through every aspect of planning and helped us with decision-making about how we wanted our wedding to go. She was there with us for both the welcome event and the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to ensure everything went smoothly and on schedule. She went above and beyond to make this a wonderful experience for us. If you are a couple considering whether this resort is the one for you, I would strongly encourage you to say yes to Iberostar Selection Coral and Bavaro Suites with Katiuska as your coordinator. Beyond the wedding celebrations, we were extremely happy with our decision to bring our friends and family here. The whole resort was incredibly well maintained, the food variety was very good, the beach is beautiful, and the activities were an absolute blast for all ages. The staff was so incredibly kind and helpful. A lot of our guests had a blast playing beach volleyball, dance lessons, and all sorts of other activities with "El Nino" who was an activities coordinator. The rooms are clean and well stocked daily in terms of drinks and fresh towels. There were no issues at all at night in terms of noise levels. Location-wise, the drive from the airport from the resort was very easy and convenient. Overall, our stay at this resort was a great value and we are excited to go back in the future!

Consistent with other Iberostar stays but ambassador Angel was outstanding!
Really liked the suite close to pool with sitting area; enough pool chairs so it wasn’t a fight to get chairs every day; restaurants accommodated our dietary needs. Highlight of the stay was our ambassador Angel! Angel went above and beyond to make sure everything was hassle free!!
