Disappointed by Security and Trust Issues Despite Room Upgrade
While staying in my room, my AirPods were taken by a staff member. What is most disappointing is that I chose to pay an additional $400 for an upgraded room, believing it would provide a higher standard of quality, safety, and comfort. Instead, this incident has left me feeling a lack of trust and questioning the overall security within the resort. I have not heard from the hotel management regarding what they plan on doing about the issue or even acknowledgement from the team.

Raul at American Bistro restaurant is amazing.
Great experience! 100% recommend the American Bistro restaurant and ask for Raul. He’s amazing and provided great service. He deserves a raise. We watched him serve every table at the restaurant and was so genuine and kind to everyone he interacted with. After eating there once he remembered us and was so great to us and remembered everything that we had for dinner, I’m gluten free and he made sure to not leave me out when it came to desert and brought me a gluten free brownie.

No longer the best
We've stayed here approx 5-6 times. This time was the worst. We arrived early and checked in. We were given wristbands. No room assignment. At checkin time we again had to wait in line. Others cut in front of us and were given their room assignments. Our first morning we had to wait in line outside to be seated. Previously this was never the case. We always walked right in. The pool servers have been eliminated. The drinks are not good. All in all id give this place D+. No longer will be spending my dollars at Iberostar. PS. If you're a smoker it's now smoke free. Choose wisely. RIU is good

High expectations but disappointed by the reality
The property is very nice and clean, the rooms we booked were a little outdated but comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the pool is very nice and spacious but we come back disappointed because in general there was not much to do, except for the activities at the swimming pool during the day and the poor theatre activities practically only one bar worked at night, the one in the lobby in which its workers provided an excellent service, on the other hand, in the theater they did the same show almost every night and finished too early around 10 pm and the theater bar closed at the same time, the sports bar very bad, the only “sports” thing there was was a pool table, a narrow and too small place and it was open from 11 pm to 3 in the morning, the gym also super small could not fit more than 10 people at the same time although they did have quality equipment, the specialty restaurants were almost impossible to get into despite being on a first-come, first-served basis, every time you went there they told you that there was no capacity and that you had to wait more than an hour if you wanted to get in, only the Japanese one was by reservation which we were able to get in because the concierge we had Jorge when we checked in made the reservation for us and the most disappointing thing of all is that they stole $200 from my wife's purse, I have no proof but it was either the people who clean the rooms or the bell boys who watched our bags for around two hours the day we left, I had high expectations for this place since it had been recommended to me but I don't think I'll ever go back to this place

Great Service, Beautiful Grounds, and Fun for Families
Iberostar Selection Cancun First impression: beautiful, clean, and welcoming. Service: From the start, staff were attentive and helpful. We had our own concierge (Jorge), who was quick to answer all questions via their easy-to-use app. Room: Spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of storage and a good bathroom layout. Pools & Grounds: Multiple pools, very clean and well maintained (though quite warm, likely due to the time of year). Grounds were spotless. Food: We tried all the à la carte restaurants; food was decent but not outstanding. Surprisingly, the buffet was better—lots of variety, with daily changing themes. Entertainment: The entertainment team did a great job with daytime pool activities, which we enjoyed. Evening shows were hit-or-miss—“Frida Night” was excellent, but most others were underwhelming. Kids Club: my son loved the kids’ club, which was a nice bonus. Beach/Ocean: Because of the sargasso, we only swam twice, but it’s easy to see that at another time of year the beach and ocean would be stunning.
