Great holiday
Lovely hotel. A few issues with the room but sorted very quickly and efficiently. Sun bed system works very well…easy to get used to. Carmella was great and booked for us, so didn’t need the app. Excellent variety of food. Plenty of places to walk to around the hotel. Hire a buggy - it’s great fun! Fab stay.

Excellent hotel
We arrived at the hotel with a warm welcome and got to our room which had been decorated with rose petals and a nice bottle of wine and macaroons. The food is incredible the service is excellent and the hotel itself was amazing! There is only one thing but probably I’m being picky is there wasn’t enough storage space in my room I like everything packed away neat and tidy lol. I would like to give a massive shout out to Daniela she was truly amazing such a lovely, kind and very caring person. Also to Sebastian who worked in the restaurant greeted us with a smile every time we saw him and was very helpful and so polite. I must also say the chef called Arancha worked so hard as the others did but her energy and personality shone. She was so lovey. I have never been to a hotel where every single member of staff was super friendly and nice. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to go back. We had a trip stargazing which I highly recommend it’s an experience that is amazing.

what you would expect from a 3 star/4 star hotel, squashed and cramped conditions also needing cosmetic attention
This is not a 5 star hotel! When booking this hotel there are may factors to consider especially what you are expecting from a holiday. If you are looking for peace and quiet and tranquility at the side of the pool this hotel is not for you! You have to book your sunbeds this is a massive factor. Everyone is that squashed in you can feel the person touching you in the next bed! If you want sunshine you will be massively unlucky because if the person in the next sunbeds put their umbrella up for shade then everyone around you is shaded! There are also hidden costs! A five star hotel for what you pay should include all sun terraces at the Sabila it doesn't..you go to the roof pool you pay, you go vip you pay you want to book your sunbeds for the full week you pay! When you arrive you obviously haven't booked your sunbeds so you get allocated anywhere on arrival whether you like it or not!! The poor pool supervisor is always run off her feet and hurled abuse at daily! Then theres the pool...if you like to swim beware as there is concrete blocks positioned in the pool to hurt yourself on and woe betide you lean on them...you end up with pulls in your favourite swimming costume! The pool floor - i thought the black bits were off the tree but on closer examination they are black spores that have not been cleaned for a while another giveaway this is no 5 star hotel as well as slippery cracked tiles. The facilities are way to small for the size of the hotel! Squashing people in and making them wait in the dining room at breakfast and dinner then the scrambles, queuing and frustration is seen from customers to staff! All restaurant staff look overworked and stressed to keep up with the volume of people in the hotels. At Buffet breakfast due to the volume of people, you can't stop people picking food up and putting it back if its not what they want, this needs servers or supervision. The staff deserve medals as the conditions implemented by iberostar head office isn't good for welfare and mental state as the customer's expectations of this hotel are high before you arrive then end up on a negative when here and this wasn't just me! The hotel is trying for a young modern feel...why? Empty spaces that make floor -1 look derelict and floor -2 could spread out the catering facilities better rather than ridiculous empty spaces!. On arrival at 10pm in the evening we were tired and not wanting to read all the paperwork pushed on us at reception. We weren't told about extra charges and there are lots...also it states that the restaurant gourmet is open till 11pm.but we were refused food and told to go to reception for room service! Your room is extremely small for a five star! It's clean and functional but the bathroom needs refurbishment and rooms updating. When you sit on your balcony the only view is of the wall in front of you and then the top of the building opposite! Negatives • Extra charges (lots so do your homework) you expect it from the spa but not other areas in the hotel! • Expect to wait! In the restaurant every time to be seated and at the pool up to an hour if you haven't booked beds and also don't be surprised if you get offered sunbeds and be seperated into different areas as this can happen! • Expect to be like beans in a can and squashed in by the pool and other areas. •Expect the worse pina collada the cocktails are shocking! • Expect black tiles were they haven't been cleaned in the pool for quite a while and tiles missing.. • Expect lots of angry people who aren't happy about booking sunbeds • Expect shade! As when someone puts their umbrella up at the pool everyone around is shaded! For me more negatives than positives!

A quality hotel in all departments.
The staff in this hotel are friendly and helpful within all departments. The food quality and choice is second to none. The evening entertainment is as good as i have seen in Tenerife hotels. A big thanks to the deputy manager, Carmella for her help with the sun bed allocation and to Santiago and his colleagues for their continued support. The animation team were excellent and loved by the guests but particularly Kiara and Christian who never stopped keeping guests entertained. The management need to keep them at this hotel. The pool is more a fun pool than for swimmers but quite adequate for an enjoyable holiday for all ages and abilities. A hotel to return to.

The staff make the hotel especially Carmela
The staff at the hotel are amazing especially Carmela who helps you with the sunbed booking. The hotel is well situated and we were on a bed and breakfast basis. Hotel very clean and excellent breakfast. Wine is also from the bottle and very reasonably priced
