Maybe a 3.5 star hotel now. There are nicer properties!
Abismal experience. Used some of our 2,000,000 points. Treated like we've never traveled before. Check-in lady didn't take a charge for incidentals and we were accosted for a $3.00 bottle of water! Our room stunk of severe mildew, sink drain was clogged, ZERO hot water so didn't get to shower, massive mildew on shower ceiling, floor and walls. Stay away! Breakfast was 1/2 of what it used to be. People who say it's nice must not go to nice hotels ever.

Amazing hotel for luxury relaxing, snorkling and scuba diving in Cozumel.
I simply cannot express how awesome this hotel is in every way. Rooms and facilities are mint and tasteful. exceptional location for family snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming. 4 restaurants to choose from. Amazing sunsets and warm smiles from helpful staff all the time. I managed to get my 10 year old daughter scuba diving with hotel dive master Krishna who were very good with kids a bit hesitant to dive. Warm regards to front desk staff Christine and Erick who both went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. I cannot recommend this place enough. Very impressed.

Coming back again this year for another fabulous family holiday
We had a great time here last year and have just booked to return again, the same time this year (December). We are a family of 3 (our 12 year old son was learning to dive and completed his PADI junior open water at the on-site dive centre here). The room was huge, clean and had all the comforts we needed. Beautiful ocean view too. We didn’t use the pool much (so much time spent diving!) but was a lovely setting by the main restaurant. Breakfast was amazing, particularly the traditional Mexican offerings. We also enjoyed delicious ceviches and fish tacos at lunchtime. The dinner options were quite pricey, so this year we are planning to get a taxi into town most evenings (this way we can sample more traditional local food too). It’s a great location, truly beautiful, and we can’t wait to return!

Nice resort
We stayed 6 nights at the intercontinental. We enjoyed our stay. The property sits along the beach about 7kms from the town. We had an ocean view room on the 2nd floor. It was spacious and nice. The balcony had a good view. The ocean front rooms were nice but for us not worth the extra cost. The beds were comfortable. Our A/C however was quite noisy so we had to sleep without it. Our breakfast was included but only for the adults, not for our 2 daughters which was a bit annoying. The breakfast buffet was quite extensive and the omelet station was great. We enjoyed this a lot. Other food was good quality but expensive. We preferred to go into town for dinner. The hotel has good amenities. Two nice pools and a hot tub. The beach area was also really nice. Enough sunbeds and towels to go around. The area around the hotel beach has some corals so you can snorkel right off the beach which we did every day. The onsite dive shop was good although a little expensive - 19USD to rent a snorkel and fins for the day. You can also rent GoPros and organise dive trips. The gym was very nice, large with lots of machines and weights. A minor gripe was that the hotel was not great at organising and/or communicating activities. e.g We only accidentally found out that the hotel has nice bikes for complementary use on our last day. The staff were nice. Overall a nice experience.

Solid resort
Nice spacious room upgrade. The roof over the outside seating area leaked, seemed to be a common problem with all units. Faro Blanco is a great restaurant; the Italian place next door, not so much. Eating under the palapa was relaxing and casual, with a good breakfast buffet. Almost universally friendly staff. Unfortunately barriers along the beach make long walks impossible. Snorkeling here and elsewhere in Coz is tepid compared to Hawaii. Sting ray spot was fun but very touristy.
- AdvisoryThe state of Quintana Roo will be charging a sanitation tax of $4.00 USD, per room per night. This amount is not included in your vacation price and will be collected at your hotel. This fee is subject to change at any time without notice by the hotel.
