Feb 07, 2026Wonderful week, in a beautiful location looked after by a fantastic team
Another return visit to the Mirador and as ever it was just as wonderful as previous visits. We stayed on La Balconada so were looked after by Sophie, Diana and Martina and as ever we were made to feel so welcome. Lovely to see some of the team who have been there for many years who continue to deliver top level service - I am hopeless at remembering names but Yori, Jose, Paula and many others including of course Tiziana! There is so much good to say about the hotel - the grounds are lovely - plenty of garden space, fabulous pool and right by the seas. Rooms are spacious with lovely views out to see. Breakfast is up there with the best I have had anywhere and each year there have been little additions further increasing the choice. The management of this hotel should be proud of the team here as they are what sets this hotel apart. See you next year!

A very special hotel
We have just returned from 10 nights at the wonderful Joia El Mirador, our third visit in two years. There is not a lot that I can add to the many overwhelmingly positive reviews of this hotel. The moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Paola, and offered sparkling wine and chocolates whilst we were checked in, and we were immediately able to relax. Our room was beautiful, with an abundance of storage space, a comfortable lounge area, a beautiful balcony with both a table and chairs and two sunbeds, and a large well-equipped bathroom. The restaurants were all excellent, the bar very relaxing and with good entertainment each evening, with attentive service provided by Roberto, Ivan, Jesus and Yousef. The gardens are beautiful, overlooking the beach and ocean, and Orlando provided such a friendly welcome every day, placing sun loungers wherever you want them. In fact all of the staff really make this hotel what it is, and we are looking forward to our next stay there.

An Outstanding Hotel
We have been staying at the El Mirador for many years - the only hotel anywhere in the world that we repeatedly return to. This is the holiday where we are looking for quality down time, and a quiet, relaxed stay and the hotel delivers on every front. The accommodation is excellent, the location ideal for wandering along the seafront, the food the in the hotel of great quality - breakfast offers an incredible array of options all beautifully prepared and presented. And what really sets it apart are the staff - many of whom we see year after year and some of whom we now regard as friends - unfailingly helpful, friendly and leaving you with a sense they really want to make your holiday perfect rather than they have to. On the very rare occasion we have encountered even the smallest issue, it has been resolved immediately with complete charm.

Our second home
Like so many of the other guests leaving reviews, my husband and I have stayed at the el Mirador on a number of occasions and cannot fault the hotel or its staff. During our two week stay I think around 80% of our fellow guests were repeat visitors, which is remarkable and I don’t know of any other hotel which could boast such an amazing rate of returning clients. It truly amazes me that they continue to provide the same superb service and attention to detail each and every time. This of course comes down to staff who take pride in making sure you enjoy your stay. In particular Tiziana is wonderful at getting to know her guests and taking a genuine interest. Diana is always on hand to lend advice and check if you need anything. There are so many others who are always friendly and stop for a chat it’s difficult to name them all for fear of missing someone out! I would definitely recommend staying in the Star Prestige area if possible as the suites here have sun terraces with loungers for your personal use. In addition there are two open bars where drinks, including wine and spirits, together with snacks are available throughout the day. We enjoyed eating in the Pergola restaurant where the staff were very friendly and efficient, so thank you Stephano, Jesus, Loretta and all the others who took such great care of us. The decor of this beautiful hotel is second to none and so much more comfortable than the sterile modern designs a lot of hotels tend to use these days. We have no doubt that we will be returning to see you all again soon.

The Magical Mirador
Where do I begin ? I’ve always wanted to find a hotel that becomes a special place where we return to year after year as it is so wonderful and in the JOIA El Mirador I have finally found it. It is simply stunning and we have had a fantastic time here. We stayed in a Star Prestige Sea View Junior Suite which had its own pool and terrace area called La Balconada. The grounds and interior of the hotel are stunning. Beautifully maintained and styled. We were staying half board and all the food we had was excellent. We loved having breakfast on the terrace at El Cenador - exquisite food and service. The gym overlooked the beach with amazing views and great equipment. The staff at the hotel are a credit to it - always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. The special touches from housekeeping were also lovely - we would come back after a day in the sun to find our suite beautifully made up with gifts like chocolates, fans, makeup purses. We have already booked to come back and will be returning for many years. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our time staying with you the most magical experience.
