  JW Marriott, great resort!!!!!

  Nice resort, some unfriendly front desk staff but do not let this ruin your stay because most of the staff are super friendly and they will go out of their way to help you. The property itself is pretty, we've stayed at the Marriott before which is beside the JW and they used to be connected thru a bridge but they made Marriott an all inclusive I dont think you can go back and forth anymore. Anyway back to JW, there's a few construction while we're there it does not bother us but maybe why the rate is so reasonable. We got an upgrade to a suite and being a Titanium member we got the usual 2 free breakfast. There's also a few perks like wine testing, free coffee and some others but it maybe for everyone not just due to our status. Anyway bottomline, great resort, good restaurants, good beach service, tons of beach and pool chairs and umbrellas. What more can you ask for! Higly recommended!

  Amazing Staff

  Staff are amazing! They speak both English and Spanish! They treat everyone with respect and treat everyone equally! Manuel and Jacet are the best!!!

  A mixed bag

  We recently stayed at the JW Marriott Cancun and overall had a mixed experience. The positives: • The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and eager to help. Service felt genuine and attentive. • Breakfast had plenty of variety and high-quality options, making mornings a highlight. • Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. • The adults-only pool area provided a peaceful escape from the busier family areas. The drawbacks: • Unfortunately, there was significant building work happening in the lobby during our stay, with constant drilling throughout the day. This wasn’t communicated at the time of booking or prior to arrival, and it impacted the relaxing atmosphere we were expecting. • The pool areas, although nice, lacked atmosphere. There wasn’t even any relaxing background music, which made the vibe feel flat and not what you’d expect from a resort of this level. • Another challenge was the strong sulphur smell along the beach caused by seaweed. While this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it made swimming in the sea unpleasant and impossible during August, so it’s something worth knowing before booking. Overall: The JW Marriott Cancun has great potential with its excellent staff, lovely rooms, and relaxing pool spaces. However, clearer communication about construction works and awareness of seasonal beach conditions would have made for a more enjoyable and transparent experience.
