Loved Maui, hated hotel. Major bug problem.
Saddened to write this review since we loved Maui but had a really negative experience at our hotel. Roaches in room and huge bug problem. Bites on arms that developed a day into stay. Tried to switch rooms and could not due to overbooking. Said they were going to spray for the bugs between 10-2 on the Saturday during our stay but never showed up. Complained to hotel front desk manager and she said they are aware of the ongoing bug issue and the hotel is planning a full renovation next year as a result. She offered 10,000 Hilton Honors points for inconvenience but it’s only equivalent to $50 essentially. Was a really gross and distressing experience. Wish I read all these reviews in detail before staying since others have had similar issues. Other negatives: -Outdated rooms. -Beach access was a small hike with a narrow strip of sand and not very clean. We spent our hotel time at the pool. -No real restaurant on site, just a carry out place by the pool that closes at 8 pm. Stock your kitchen as a long Road to Hana or National Park day will leave you hungry in later hours unless venturing outside hotel. Positives: -The pool and grounds with waterfalls and coy ponds…gorgeous. -Spacious rooms (although outdated). -Beautiful ocean views and sunsets. -Nice hot-tubs. -Fun slide for kids. -Good location for walking. Java Jazz across street is expensive but has yummy coffee and food. More affordable food truck park right outside hotel with a great coffee spot there also (Lavender Ginger iced coffee made my week lol). -Maui is an overall vibe with so many fun things to do. Loved the National Parks and Road to Hana. Volcano sunrise was epic (get reservations early). Paia on way to Road to Hana is cute and loved Paia Bay Coffee House. -Whaler’s Villiage nearby with excellent shopping and restaurants (we ended up at Monkepod on the beach there for lunch, which had an amazing local craft beer list and food). -We loved the local restaurants…Star Noodle, Duke’s Beach House, Mama’s Fish House (tip: get reservations early at Mama’s and go at sunset for some amazing pics on their private beach). -Costco near airport and can hit it up on way to hotel to save some money through week (Maui is expensive which we did know going in).

Excellent family vacation spot
Super comfortable rooms, fantastic pool, beautiful scenery, and friendly people. Lots of activity options. Family oriented and kid friendly. We’ve been quite impressed and would happily recommend.

Save your money
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants it. Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and, at times, unsafe. First, the dishwasher was improperly installed, with exposed screws that hooked and tore several pieces of our clothing—completely unacceptable. The air conditioning unit leaked heavily, creating a slippery mess that caused two people in our group to fall. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt, but it could have been much worse. The overall condition of the room was rundown. There were holes, patches, and chips in the walls, peeling bathroom fixtures that looked decades old, and a musty, unpleasant smell in the shower that reminded us of a dirty locker room. On top of that, the mattresses were clearly past their prime, sagging deeply in the middle and offering no support. This place desperately needs maintenance, renovation, and better quality control. Until then, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Two stars are for the staff, who were amazing. Also, I cannot upload my videos of the leaking a/c and other issues

We'll definitely be back!
Really great stay. The teens loved the beautiful pool and beach. We saw dolphins our last day on the beach. We will definitely be back. The service was top notch.
